To Julie and Corey

Ditto to all that everyone has said on this thread!

I posted on Corey's facebook page but ditto to everything that has been said too! I'm a special ed teacher and I work with the babies and preschool children so I was delighted to hear that you guys have already begun the therapies for baby Ferris. He is such a sweetheart and a lucky child to have such loving and caring parents. I know he will have a wonderful, happy, and healthy life with all of the love and support you give him.

I thought at first she was going to say she was pregnant again. But after she told I wanted to cry but thinking about it I didn't because he will be great with two awesome parents like Corey and Julie

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but after reading these posts, I wanted to send you guys a hug. You are truly blessed, and I can only say I'm in agreement with everyone else who've posted on this thread.

I still just love the name Ferris.

With a name like that I'm sure he'll have a magnetic personality. :lmao:

I do a lot or work with the ACS and have encountered a lot of kids suffering with cancer. I am always amazed at how the parents are able to step up to the plate and cope. I feel the same way when I read the wish trip reports. Like a PP said it seems that kids with special needs, whatever they may be, seem to be paired with the parents that are able to cope and are equipped for the challenge. Hopefully that came out right, I'm not trying to make comparisons between down syndrome and cancer, just the unique challenges parents of these kids have to face.

Corey and Julie ~ I think your outlook on life is simply inspiring. My blessings to you and your Lil' Man.

Thank you for sharing with us.

Corey and Julie,
I had to stop what I was doing at work to listen to this portion of the show. It almost brought me to tears listening to you guys speak about baby Ferris. God never gives us a challenge we cant handle, and Baby Ferris is so lucky to have parents who have unconditional love for him. I see a lot of parents who could care less about there children in my line of work, and it is awsome when you hear of people who cherish there children as much as you guys do. Parents are so important to a childs life, and I'm thankful for mine everyday. Ferris is one lucky little guy to have parents who care about each other, have a great support system around them, and are going to be absolutely amazing parents.

God bless,
Firemanx

I couldn't agree more! You are great parents and Ferris IS so so SO lucky to have such caring, loving, and supportive parents! Not every child gets the chance to have that in their lives. Best wishes always and have a great time with your family and all the DISers on the cruise:)

I am truly inspired by the grace, strength and gratitude with which you lead your lives and I wish your family much love, health and happiness! You are wonderful parents. Enjoy your perfectly wonderful little boy!

I wanted to throw my love and support in here too. Corey and Julie, you have a great and wonderful family, and little Ferris is one lucky little bundle of joy (as you already know).

I have the podcast on pause right now- as ya'll are talking about Baby Ferris (did I spell that right?) and I just want to say that Ferris is SOO BLESSED to have received such amazing and wonderful parents.

Whenever I hear about these things, I offer praise up to Heaven for making a perfect match. I truly believe that children are matched to their parents and that it then is up to the parents to do right by their children and I couldn't imagine more big-hearted, happy, loving parents for your baby than the two of you.

May God bless you all in continued health, happiness, and love.

Julie, I have tears in my eyes as I read this. Not tears of sadness, but tears from the pure love that comes through in your post. You and Corey are the perfect parents for your precious little Ferris. He is very blessed to have you as parents, just as you are blessed to have little Ferris.

:grouphug:

As the mom of a special needs child, I always try to remember that EVERYTHING happens for a reason! You were chosen to parent this amazing life. Enjoy the good days and the bad days...they are all a gift. Education and preparedness is key and you have that taken care of. Also, keep your beautiful smiles on, all three of you! :)

I was listening to the podcast on the way to work this morning and like to add my well wishes. Parenthood is a struggle but the most rewarding job I would ever want. Baby Ferris is lucky to be in a family that will show him unconditional love, both of you sound like wonderful parents. I have two boys of my own and live to be there for them. Family is the most important thing in my life. Enjoy every little moment because they grow up so fast.

I just wanted to add my support and well wishes. It warms my heart to know how lucky Ferris is to have the most amazing and loving parents. I am a single mom of a daughter with learning and motor disabilites. While there are certainly challenging days I feel blessed to have her (and my son as well) in my life. She has taught me much more than I ever thought I could learn. Seeing the challenges she faces on a daily basis drove me to going back to school to get my degree in Special Education.

I am so glad tha Ferris has such compassionate parents to be there to advocate for him. Knowledge is power and it certainly seems like Julie and Corey have that covered. Best of luck to you on this amazing journey.

You and Corey are absolutely incredible people - which I always suspected, but never had verified. :goodvibes You both make me want to be a better person/parent. God will bless you and your family with great things. I will never, ever, ever forget the beautiful and loving nature of the Martins. And I mean that!!!!!

Thanks for sharing about Ferris. We know quite a few people with children who have Downs. One of my former co-workers had twins for her third pregnancy- one with Downs and one without. She said something that I will always remember.

When you have a typical baby, the doctors don't tell you all the things your child may not do and all the limitations they might have: your child may get held back in the first grade, may never get a date in high school, may not pass the SATs and get into college, may be addicted to drugs, may move into your basement and live with you in their 30's, etc. You receive your little bundle of joy without any notion of who they will be become and what they will do.

You have no way of knowing what the future holds, and watching your child amaze you is one of the biggest joys of being a parent. Yours is no different. Ferris has an amazing life ahead of him and parents that love him. He is so blessed!

Hey Corey & Julie. I am soo happy to see ferris is doing well. God has truly blessed you with A Wonderful son. I just love seeing those Cute Pictures of Ferris on Facebook. Just remember This: God will not put more on you than you can Bear, So be encouraged not Discouraged. I am praying for you everyday :thumbsup2

God Bless You:goodvibes
