Day 4 27th March 2008 Studios

I woke up at around 6-30am, before our wake up call which was booked for 6 -55am. We were all on the ball and ready for breakfast by 7-25am. We had a lovely, leisurely breakfast before heading off to the main park, arriving at around 8-20am We hadn’t rushed around, as it was chucking it down with rain, but we were not downhearted, and made use of our ponchos.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=481fc328.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/481fc328.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Main Street really is an amazing site when it is completely empty

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=7e4e6b05.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/7e4e6b05.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We made straight for Space mountain, having two turns and thoroughly enjoying it. We all tried to see who could look most scared for the ride photo, but the booth was not open at that time so I tried to catch the moment on my camera.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=9774c6c3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/9774c6c3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The boys were desperate to destroy Zurg again on Buzz, and even escaped with hostages!!

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=d953cd7f.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/d953cd7f.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We then headed back to Fantasyland so that Becks & Jordan could re-visit Peter Pan. Me and Lisa went along, purely to keep them company (tee hee). The boys all went on the teacups, before Jakey insisted on riding the carousel again, and this time he sat on his own horse and absolutely loved it.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=854dd3dd.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/854dd3dd.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Max went on with Granny Leese and Jordan managed to hop on board too.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=69282620.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/69282620.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Look - no hands

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=bef8f918.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/bef8f918.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The girls loved Cinderellas carriage, parked up outside the auberge de cendrillon restaurant

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=434741b0.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/434741b0.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The rain had stopped now, as we immediately made our way round to the Studio Park, arriving just after opening at 10am. I shot off to Fastpass TOT, with a return time of 11-05am, before meeting the others at Crush. Even though the park had only just opened, the queue time was already at 60 minutes, but we decided to do it anyway, so Becks, Ben, Jordan & I joined the queue. The disabled pass does not work as well in the Studios, as the lines have been made wheelchair friendly, so you just join the normal queue. The ride was very enjoyable, but not worth such a long wait. I don’t think Jordan was too impressed, as he found the spinning in the dark a bit scary, but at least he gave it a go! We met the others outside the animation studio, before rushing along just in time for Becky, Liam, Ben & Lisa to make the fastpass time for TOT.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=a59b49c7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/a59b49c7.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=4582fc56.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/4582fc56.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Becks really did love this ride. I kept the boys occupied with donuts & pop, and took the opportunity to sneak in a coffee, before they got back from the tower.

We moved on to the Studio tour next,

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=6dd8cf8d.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/6dd8cf8d.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and this time we did get to the front of line, which was a good job really, as we wanted to make the Cars Motors Action show. I thought the younger boys would be terrified of catastrophe canyon, but they quite enjoyed it, but then Max screamed at the London scene! So off we went to the motors action show, and this was to prove a huge hit with everyone, especially Jordan. We got a prime position, right in the centre & on the front row. It felt as though we were in the middle of the action. Jordan is car mad anyway, so this really had him smiling. Jakey was also totally spellbound, and very impressed, especially when the biker caught fire.

We had to rush straight off to the parade next, and while it was very good, it was never going to live up to the main park parade. There was not as much character interaction, but the boys seemed to enjoy it anyway.

Straight off now to do one of Bens favourites, the Rock & Roller Coaster.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=c5ecf9c0.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/c5ecf9c0.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This was his first ever coaster in America, and this was equally as good. Becks loved it and wanted to go straight back on, but Lisa had checked out Stitch Live, and the English version was due to start very shortly. All the kids loved this show, and I must say it was quite good, but if I’m honest I preferred the one in America, but that’s probably because I liked Crush as a character more than I like Stitch.

It was time for us to rush back to the main park now for our Tea Party appointment in Plaza Gardens. There was a very good selection of sweets, but as you got to the end of the buffet, there was sausages, omelettes, tomatoes and potato balls. This was a little strange, as you had already filled your plate with the sweet stuff. Surely these should come first??

Yet again the character interaction was brilliant. We had Tigger first, followed by that flippin dog, who haunted us yet again, I'm sure Becks shot under the table when she saw him coming!! We love you really Pluto!!

We had Mr Smee again next, followed by Pinocchio and then the boys were thrilled to see Eeyore.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=8002449f.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/8002449f.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=cae8d846.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/cae8d846.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=2c99f694.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/2c99f694.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

A new character for us was Governor Radcliff from Pocahontas, but I don’t think any of us have ever seen this film. He gave a very good reaction though, when Liam asked him to smile, which was very difficult with that dead pan face!

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=2ee818b7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/2ee818b7.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We also had Minnie again, but unfortunately I was too busy filling my face again, or filming with the video camera to catch every one of the characters. Another couple of old favourites, Robin Hood & Friar Tuck also visited us.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=65009864.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/65009864.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Next came Prince John, but he was in a really bad mood, throwing the kids autograph books on the floor and insisting that they bow down to him and kiss his hand.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=bc4dc9e6.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/bc4dc9e6.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Another new one for us was the Genie from Aladdin, and he was very popular, although he didn’t grant Liams wish to be able to stay for another few weeks!!

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=9fc5bc34.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/9fc5bc34.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

All the characters spent lots of time with us, and an added bonus was being able to watch the parade pass by through the window. The Plaza Gardens building reminded us of Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom, and we had just as good a time in each of the locations.

To be continued below

Aww I love Eeyore, hope he's around when we are there in July, only seen him once in the parks on a walk around and it was impossible to get near but we did get a picture of his tail!

Loving your trip reports and pictures - brilliant!

Day 4 Continued

We were all flagging fast now, but got our second wind, as we made our way towards Small World. We timed it just right, as we went past the back of the Auberge de Cendrillon Restaurant, as the Princes & Princesses were just coming out.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=478baf03.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/478baf03.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This is a lovely view of the castle, but the brilliant sunshine was just in the wrong place to catch it perfectly

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=9bfbdbce.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/9bfbdbce.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

After small world, we all enjoyed walking around the Curious Labrynth ,except Max, who thought that the Queen of Hearts was Ursula, so every time she popped up from behind one of the edges, he let out his high pitched comedy scream!!.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=ef7ec542.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/ef7ec542.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=43761c11.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/43761c11.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=03882193.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/03882193.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

While on the top of the castle in the Labrynth we took advantage of the excellent photo opportunities,

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=57e18724.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/57e18724.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=64e5f78c.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/64e5f78c.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=109a7aef.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/109a7aef.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

but also noticed Dumbo’s train ride, that we hadn’t spotted before, so we decided to make this our next port of call. On our way there, we also found Le Pays des Contes de Fées, which is a relaxing boat ride through Storybook Land, past mini recreations of classic fairytales. This was a lovely little ride, with lots more “Ahhs” from Becks along the way.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=7550163b.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/7550163b.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We had quite a wait for the Dumbo train ride, but it was quite a nice ride which the boys seemed to enjoy.

We made our way back over to the Pirates of the Carribean next for a proper turn, after the rushed one we had the day before. There was no queue, so we all went on together and the boys, and especially Jordan really enjoyed it. They are still singing the tune now, which is quite amusing – all together now “Yo ho ho ho a pirates life for me” Liam tried to re-live the days when he had hair, or did he simply fancy himself as a pirate?

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=b4627476.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/b4627476.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And Max got really brave trying on a mask.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=7cbf4be2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/7cbf4be2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We had been promising Jakey another turn on the Carousel, and he was really becoming quite a good horseman now. I managed to get a lovely photo of all the boys together

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=6f9b3347.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/6f9b3347.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And then a good one from the back of the castle by night

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=e39f94c9.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/e39f94c9.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We then managed to get someone to take one of all of us together for the first time on the holiday. This was one of the big disappointments to me, we never once saw an official Disney photographer, so unlike in America, we did not get the team shots that we would have liked.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=1e871983.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/1e871983.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Yet again, our timing was incredible, as we made our way through the castle, just as candlebration was finishing, and the characters were making their way back through. The CM allowed us to stand next to the rope. Jakey had been really disappointed that he had not met Donald Duck, as he had been amusing us all for months with his impressions, and phoning me daily just to hear my impersonation saying “Oh boy,Oh boy, Oh boy and then laughing in a duck type way!! When we explained this to the CM, she spoke to their minder, who immediately sent Donald & Daisy in our direction. This was a wonderful moment, and I am only sorry that I was at the wrong angle with the camera to catch the look on his face.

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=afa2f997.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/afa2f997.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=32dcc46a.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/32dcc46a.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We went into the Christmas shop in the castle next and bought our usual supply of baubles etc. Jordan then decided that he wanted to spend his money on a snow globe, and went for the biggest one in the shop. I was totally gobsmacked when the CM brought the boxed item out, as the box was even bigger than our suitcases!! So having struggled like hell to get all our luggage here, we now had a massive box to get home as well. We had to laugh, as we couldn’t let Jordan down, but we certainly weren’t looking forward to lugging that thing around on several trains!! I even had to put 20 euro’s towards the cost of it for the pleasure!!

We called in a few more shops on Main Street, before another lovely moment, as Mickey was stood on the railway station, waving goodbye to everyone. Jakey was really shouting out to him at the top of his voice, and Mickey responded by waving back to him and saying a personal “goodbye pal” to him.
We had planned to come back into the park for an hour in the morning, but this seemed like a fitting end, and we decided that this was our goodbye to Mickey, or should we say Aurevoir?

So instead of rushing back to the hotel to pack, we decided that the girls would do that in the morning, while we took the boys for a swim. This meant that we could have a lay in til 8am, so were not in such a rush to get back. We all agreed that we would like to go to Annettes for a meal, as it had had many good reports on the boards. There was a very long queue, but we went with it anyway, and we were not that long getting seated. We had only just sat down when the servers started dancing to Grease, and then Freedom, dragging people up from their chairs to dance along, so again, the atmosphere was excellent. The food was very good too, although it took a very long time to come. Jakey ordered from the kids menu, which was printed on a car box

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=6f12c008.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/6f12c008.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And when his meal came, it was served on a Frisbee for him to keep

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=79035962.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/79035962.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

As reported previously, Lisa is a bit of a lush, and has to sample the cocktails everywhere she goes!!

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=e71dd207.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/e71dd207.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Ben had a foot long hot dog

<a href="http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/?action=view&current=b1a8ab08.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/kevg1889/DLRP%20Day%204/b1a8ab08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And we had chilli bacon cheese burgers

What happened to the diet Kev???

We also had a portion of onion rings which were very nice.

And then somehow, Jordan managed a Ben & Jerrys ice cream that was nearly as big as him. Where does he put it all and manage to stay so slim?

We had another wander around the village, doing last minute shopping and trying to burn off a few calories, before making our way back to the Lodge, taking the opposite route past the Newport Bay hotel, so we could have a good look at it, but I think I still personally preferred our hotel.

We fetched a couple of pints back to our room, and I laid reading the fabulous Imagineering book that I had bought, which describes how the parks and rides were all planned. I think it was around 12-30am before I dropped off to sleep, just a little sad that this was our last night in our Disney paradise.

Sigh!!! Your boys must have been so thrilled with all that character interaction - and you're right - what better way to say adieu to DLRP than with the Main Mouse waving you goodbye from his home?

I've loved reading your trip reports.

Elaine

Great trip report and fantastic photos too - I really enjoyed reading it - looks like you had a great trip

Hope your return journey home was uneventful!

Another fabulous day. Lovely photos.:goodvibes

Hoping to have the last day posted later today. Glad you're all enjoying it, it makes the hours of work worthwhile.

Love all the photos- The dusky one of the Castle is fabulous!! :goodvibes

What a great trip! You sure had a lot of fun....I am going to DLRP in June for my birthday, this is mine and DH first time there and we are really looking forward to it. :cool1:

Another fantastic day and some lovely photos. You really seem to catch the magic in your reports:goodvibes

I always get teary when I see Mickey waving bye at the end of our trips :flower3:

Another great day with lots of family time :goodvibes

We always forget to get a family photo so I'm never in any of the photos :)

that shot of Main Street is amazing. I have only seen one that empty once and it was late in the evening, so special to feel like you have it all to yourself!

After reading your struggles of manuevering the train, I can only imagine what you were thinking at the thought of adding that huge snow globe box to the mix (I hope it made it home safely!)

Great photos, all. I think I am amazed that you never saw a professional photographer, how disappointing! Did it feel awkward to ask a park goer to take your photo? I have done this before as it seems quite natural in Orlando but not sure I'd have the same comfort level in Paris.

Yes, the globe made it home safely, and we had a good few laughs about it too!! Jordans mum loved it, so it was all worthwhile in the end, and to be honest, the return journey was not too bad.

I don't think we really thought about getting someone to take our picture until the last day, and the person that took it didn't seem to mind, but it was very disappointing that there were no photographers, as you see so many of themin WDW.

Main Street was an amazing sight when it was completely empty, but I suppose the hussle & bussle, and all the transportation going up and down it are what makes it so special.

I think they only have photographers for the character meet & greets unfortunately. You could always just ask a CM to take a pic, we have in the past & had no problem.

Another great day, love the photo of the Castle at night!

Shame about the lack of Photopass...hopefully that is something they will introduce soon to DLRP.
