In my opinion the straps give you better and more consistent data than the wrist based HR monitors anywaysGood idea. I always forget those exist.
Awesome. I'll look into that one.

That was my concern with the chest strap. So I ended up buying the sosche last night. It will be in on Thursday which means as long as it arrives on time I'll be able to test it out on Friday.I have the HRM that Billy linked to, the sosche. I like it. It is optical but it's up on my arm not my wrist. It charges via usb. I like it better than the chest strap because I had issues with chest strap and a sports bra and chafing. So my verdict as a woman, I love the arm band optical HRM.
Fun fact #10: The Japanese unicorn, or kirin (after which the beer is named) is a fierce creature able to root out criminals, instantly punishing them by piercing them through the heart with its horn. In China, the similarly named qilin had quite a different disposition. It harms no creature, and its presence is considered a good omen. Reportedly, a qilin appeared to Confucius' mother before he was born.
Side note: I never noticed the unicorn on the label and I've had my fair share of these at sushi joints.

Hello! First time on your log.
I am a little late on this, but here goes: 2:59:51.
On a good day, with good weather, pacing, fueling, etc. I reckon you're in sub-3 territory, so why not go for it. There are at least a thousand things that can upset any marathon, but I think you have about 900 of them covered with your incredibly detailed, passionate and inspiring approach to training. Regardless of breaking the 180 minute barrier, I hope you have an experience that you enjoy and finish the race wanting more. Enjoy the taper and DFIU![]()
Been having a rough go of it. Has been a tough work week was scared of my 9 mile progression run. It's so challenging but some much fun. I nailed it maybe a little fast but much closer to target.
I have been having some left hip pain and right knee pain. I skinned the left knee on the fall. I was worried going into 9 this morning, but my knee felt good. Still dealing with a very specific sore spot on my left hip. The orb is doing a great job getting to it, just happy I survived today. Have a big, hard, long Sunday run
Have to travel next week may need a slight modification but want to get through Sunday first.
Prediction for your race 3:00: 21. It should be good enough for Boston.
Good thing I'll be running way behind dopeybadger, with all this talk of piercing!
How about the weather at the finish around noon?![]()
That looks pretty good, right?
