To go boxes?

Just curious if restaurants inside the parks offer to-go boxes?

This way my toddler can finish up later as he sees fit.
And also so we can enjoy the ddp includes desserts we will surely be too full for back at the hotel for a late night snack.

We've been able to take leftovers back to the resort from various restaurants and when we were on DDP, we asked for the desserts to go - was not a problem!

We've been able to get to go boxes at the TS restaurants. Most, however, don't have large bags to carry the boxes or plasticware.

Some CS venues have boxes, but many do not and will give you an extra paper plate to cover the food. You might want to have some ziploc bags handy and a larger bag or tote to carry the food.

I have stopped in a store and asked for a bag if the restaurant didn't have one.

The QS restaurants are really not equipped for "to go" boxes. Zip Locks or disposable Glad containers are your best bet

I asked for a Togo container from Mama Melrose for my chicken parm. They gave me a container and a Disney plastic bag to put it in! I thought that was great because it was one like you get at a gift shop, so it didn't even look like I had food. That food survived RnR and the other rides too! Just rolled the bag around it and our it in the cubbys on the ride.

I could swear I got a to go box from Columbia Harbor House last trip for my leftover Lighthouse sandwich. I KNOW I took it back to the villa with us, and I KNOW I greatly enjoyed it later.

Last summer we asked to take our leftovers from Liberty Tree, and at first we were told that they weren't allowed to let us take food due to concerns about carrying them around the park and not being able to refrigerate them. Only after we assured our server that some of us were leaving the park right after dinner and going back to the hotel did she reluctantly let us take them. I think they were worried about people getting sick.

Having a cooler would be good.

Yes you can. We asked for our desserts to go from the Grand Floridian Cafe since we wee full. And awesomely I was able to get the berry pyramid desserts without the sauces (just some berries. My kids were happy to just eat some berries.

Most buffets let you pay for food to take home, it's usually done by weight.

I have never heard of such a thing, so I would disagree that it is most.
Maybe it is a regional thing. Where do you live?

Oh, with resort restaurants, it's a definite yes. I've gotten to-go (leftovers) from lots of resort restaurants.

I think the park restaurants are more of a question mark, but as I said, I got a to-go box from CHH in MK last year.

Indiana, but I've also lived in New York and it was the same way there.

Trail's End did and it's a buffet.

The chef made me grilled chicken breast, actually he made me two hence the need for a to go box (made a great sandwich on allergy safe bread to take to the airport on our departure day. Airports suck for people with food allergies.)

I asked if it was okay to take the other piece to go and my server didn't even hesitate.

I think for the most part it is just the ability to get a to go container. Trail's end has a connected 'to go' counter so they had containers.

Brown Derby has NO to go service but they had no problem getting me a container to take our deserts in (was on DDP but we don't typically eat dessert after meals). So even restaurants without to go services had to go boxes.

At Casey's I ordered corndog nuggets to take back to the resort for lunch. No to go containers. Just wrapped them over with a napkin and got a bag from the store next door, which actually worked well as the napkin absorbed any condensation and the bag was easy to keep the top open so that they didn't steam like they would have in a container. If I'd known I was going to grab CS I would have brought baggies from the room but it was impromptu. I haven't ever been able to get a to go box at a CS.

Great advice, everyone.
I'm only doing one buffet, Tusker lunch on our last day. So no issue there.

Mostly desserts to eat as late night snacks, and if my toddler pitches a fit we can take his food and he can eat later when he's being more reasonable.
For me, vacation is no place to start an all-out "Eat Your Dinner" war. Lol

No problem getting to-go's at sitdowns other than the previously mentioned buffet. A little harder at some of the counter services but you should have a container for the toddler's stuff just may not have a lid.

I also have had servers offer to-go drinks or to take our mugs in the back and fill them before we left. (Always a welcome offer when it's hot out)
