To get the room type you want, can you reserve and then add the 40% off code

I have been unable to get the view and room set-up I would prefer, but have booked a stay anyway at a more costly option. My question is, what would happen if I book the room type I want and then call in and try to add my 40%off code. Would it work or would they tell me that the room I booked is not available with the discount and I would be in the same situation I am in now.

Your thoughts?

I would think that would be fine since in the past when we have gotten a code I would call and put all my requests with it.
It worked for me the last two times but that was a few years ago .

there are limited rooms available with every offer and promo disney has. If they say the room you want is not available with the offer it doesnt matter if you reserve the room, its not available. You can of course keep calling back and see if they release more rooms or if someone cancels

the pp is correct.Once the promotion rooms are gone they are gone regardless of whether you have existing ressie.

I don't think this normally works, but we had a similar situation last year. We had booked a pool view room at AKL. When codes came out (general offer, not a pin), only standard view was available or pool view with bunk beds. At first we did not want to give up the pool view, but neither did we want any bunk beds for two adults. Finally we decided it would be stupid not to save some money and told opur travel agent that we would switch to the standard view with the code. when she called Disney to rebook our package with the code, the castmember was able to get us a normal pool view room!

So why don't you try it, you can always rebook to a different category with the pin if it does not work out.

Also, when we booked the 4+3 deal, the Poly switched from being available to not being available back and forth daily! So inventory for a deal does change!
