To EMH, or not to EMH?

Understandable point. The comment was more driven at utilizing morning EMH, then trying to find a lower crowd for the evening. I say this only bc we’ve always done rope drop. So late night EMH may make that tricky. However, I’ll have to take a look at how the schedule plays out.

Got it! :) In that case, I would avoid a park with evening EMH if you aren't planning to take advantage of the late hours...at least at MK. I don't really have any first-hand experience with that at other parks.

What time of year are you going when you have that much luck with FP?

LOL. AP, all times of year, I'm a hyper user of FP & have FP modifying down to an art...just keep searching...What do we do? We search!

It’s always played off the idea that if a park has EMH, and is advertising such, many resort guests will attend, leading to higher crowds. Likewise, the idea that if a park has had EMH the previous day (especially evening) and resort guests have utilized those, fewer will return to the same park the following day, leading to slightly lower crowds. I’ve always traveled in July/August so I look for any advantage I can. If you’re not a rope dropper (as I think you implied) you may not notice as much of a difference either.

Oops, sorry, maybe I should have phrased it differently. I completely understand the concept of it, I just don't buy into it at all. I think it's a bit of an old wives tale. We aren't rope droppers (we don't buy into that either), but do show up often within an hour of park opening. We really don't notice a difference...then again we really don't know if the park had EMH or not. However, we have gone often enough that by random coincidence I'm sure we've gone to parks many times with EMH. ETA that we're hyper FP+ users like the PP, which is why we don't bother with rope drop or don't care about EMH.

Fair enough! Noted!

Fair point. I’ve felt like it’s helped us previously, but then again, I’ve always done it so I don’t have my to compare to. Haha!

Good points! As I’ve mentioned, we’ve typically gone summer time, so the mid-day breaks have almost been essential. This will be our first fall trip.

I agree with the dining options with hoppers as well (albeit not the greatest for time if we plan to hop to MK or AK) as we really enjoy many restaurants in Epcot’s World Showcase, and one leg of our trip is going to be staying at the Dolphin resort.

Depending on where you call home....
Early fall Orlando is still as hot as summer, and September is probably MORE rainy than July/August.

Come November, the jet stream gets a little crazy. One day can be warm with the next rather chilly.

So, depending on when you are going, you might end up experiencing weather that is similar to what you know from prior trips, or conditions that are a bit cooler.

In cooler weather: you might only get fewer days that are good for swimming, and you might want to pack (extra clothing) layers. And of course, fall is hurricane season.

Best wishes for a great trip!

Coming from New England (so anything is going to likely feel warm), but we’re looking September, so obviously the heart of hurricane season, so hoping for the best there!
