"To Disney & Beyond" ~ Road Trip 2010 ~ Final Drive & Final Thoughts

Absolutely gorgeous pictures of the sunset... especially the one of you and Chris! :goodvibes

Your Christmas travel tree is amazing!!! What a great idea to collect ornaments from all your travels. I really love your Mickey ones! :thumbsup2

You had such a memorable day, Lynne! It's great you took the time to enjoy the sunset - beautiful pics!:thumbsup2

I bet standing where Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address was very humbling!

Those pretzel logs look divine! Were they as tasty as they look?

Beautiful pictures of the sunset, Lynne! Just gorgeous!

It must have been a great experience to stand where Lincoln actually stood, gave me chills looking at the pictures of the fields filled with tombstones

Beautiful sunset pictures!!

Wow, I was ready for a new trip report and clicked on this one. Shocked because I have been debating on whether our next vacation would be Gatlinburg or Disney, and this has both! Not to mention my DD9 LOVES tigers! What a trip. But I still can't decide where I want to go next. I would love to rent a cabin in the Smokies...

Where is your Bronner's ornament?

I really love your sunset pics! That is a great couples shot of you two.

Another great update with absolutely stunning pictures. Just love the sunset ones. The one of you and Chris is beautiful. Can't wait for the next one.

Spectacular sunset photos!

I have always wanted to visit Gettysburg. Its definitely on my bucket list!

It absolutely was! As I stood there, I just kept thinking...wow, Abe Lincoln stood in this very spot to give his address.

It was such a cool experience. The tombstones...just so sad. There were so many...and the ones with just numbers and no names...:sad2:

Beautiful sunset pictures!!
Thanks, Shannon! :goodvibes

Welcome and I'm so glad you joined in! :woohoo: OOOhhhh...Gatlinburg or Disney? That's a tough call. The cabins in the Smokies looked really nice. Had we stayed there longer, we too, were going to rent one.

Where is your Bronner's ornament?
Which one? ;) We actually have several...we try to make a stop there every year! :goodvibes

A Nice Surprise...

I wanted to share my newest tree ornament...one of my first grade students just got back from WDW and brought me a surprise. Isn't it cute? :woohoo: Both he and his mom know my love for Disney! They made my day!

In Other News...

Life is busy right now. Next week is my final week of school before our holiday break. AND...my 1st graders are heading to the theater to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs next Friday. What a way to end the week! I can't wait! :yay:

Did you notice my new ticker? :rolleyes1 I've been looking into a few vacation choices and finally made a decision. We're cruisin'! It's not a Disney trip, but it will get us out of our cold Michigan weather even if it's for a short period of time. I am "over the moon" excited!!! :woohoo: I am already thinking "sun, fun, and new places to visit and explore!" Guess I'll be adding a few more ornaments to my travel tree too!

My TR...

My goal is to get another update on here by this weekend and then the FINAL installment up sometime next week! Yep, this TR is FINALLY coming to an end. I do appreciate all of you hanging in here with me!

That ornament is adorable! I hope when I have a class I get cool things like this :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! And have fun on the cruise...I can't wait to escape this frigid MI weather too!

So happy to hear about your cruise!!! :goodvibes And what a great time of the year to go, when winter is really getting old!

What a cute ornament! Disney gifts are always the best.

Hurray for a trip to look forward to -- it will be here before you know it!

Good luck with the coming week. We only have one more week left, too, and it is going to be crammed full of final exams, grading, and hyper kids! I can't wait for next Friday!

How nice to get a new official Disney World ornament from a thoughtful student! :santa:

Tennessee has been cold enough lately. Michigan weather would be more than I could bear, I bet. It will be great for you to get a break from the cold...
and to collect more travel ornaments for the tree, of course.

Happy planning!

Jarvis is from Michigan, but truthfully, I don't even know what part exactly. I'll have to ask him.

Aww that is a very nice ornament and its from WDW so thats even better :goodvibes

Where are you visiting on your cruise?? That is very exciting to be going somewhere warm!

What a great gift! Seriously I envy you right now! What ship/islands are you doing? I sooo need a cruise. Its been a year and I am really missing the sea. Brian and I were looking into cruises for the end Febuary but decided it probably won't be in our budget with buying our house and everything :(. You will definately have to post pictures and tell us how it goes!!

It now looks like we will be heading to Gatlinburg/Nashville in April. UNLESS you have any other good 8-10 hr drive locations (from Ohio) we should visit. You seem to be a vacation expert :)..so I will take any of your ideas as well!

I hope you enjoy your Christmas break and get lots of delays:laughing:

I'm so excited for you to be taking a Southern Caribbean cruise!!! That is what I'd like to try next!!! I do hope you'll do a TR! :dance3:
How nice your student brought you an ornament! Minnie and Mickey are so cute!

Let's see now...Your travel ornament tree is super special. Your sunset photos were absolutely stunning! :wizard: And your upcoming cruise sounds like the perfect plan. :goodvibes
