"To Disney & Beyond" ~ Road Trip 2010 ~ Final Drive & Final Thoughts

Mmmmm, your food from the Norway bakery looks delicious. I would eat all of that without a doubt!

More great pictures of all the fun you two were having in World Showcase! Love the one with you in Mexico -- you know pinatas are very popular with Connor. LOL!

Hey Lynne! I am finally caught up...thanks for the links!;)

As usual, another fun trip report! Your enthusiasm is contagious!:goodvibes

Awesome pictures, as always. In particular the parade photos!!!:worship:

Great that you got to see the Electrical Parade and Summer Nighttastic fireworks!:goodvibes And great job on all those rope drops!:worship:

Those photos of the food at Kringla looked amazing....so glad you tried and liked the cloudberry horn. That is my favorite snack in all of WDW!

Hope you are doing well with your class this year, and look forward to hearing the rest!:goodvibes

YAY update!! I love the rest of your world tour funny pictures!! I think the new boat ride in Mexico is cute, then again we are sort of partial to Donald in this family :goodvibes I swear looking at your pictures versus the ones we took makes me so jealous, I told DBF we need a new camera for christmas and before we go again to WDW next year :rotfl:

The food at Norway looked amazing!! I think I will have to at least try something from there next time!
That lightning looked pretty crazy...it looked like a special effect lol I am not so sure we would have stayed...but I hope you guys did!!

So happy you stopped by Kringla Bakeri og Kafe... it's one of my favorite World Showcase stops for a great snack! I'm nearly obsessed with those sweet pretzels!!! :lmao:

I hope a storm didn't chase you away from Illuminations!

Looks like a fun day at Epcot! That food looks really yummy. I hope you got to see Illuminations!!

Oh man, I thought for sure we were going to get to see pictures of you belly dancing! It looks like you guys were having a blast on your tour around WS!

I'm so glad you liked the bakery in Norway, I was surprised how much we liked it, and wasn't that cloudberry horn delish? I'll be forever grateful to Trish for turning me on to those!

Yikes! That was quite a lightening strike! I think I would have headed for the exits.......

Isn't Kingla the best?! I ate there twice in one day last trip! :goodvibes
Oh my gosh...it was so good! We've gotten snacks from there before, but never a meal. I was so glad we tried it! :thumbsup2

I think I would've stayed...everyone else would probably start heading out and in the event that Illuminations is on, there'd be less people and you could get a better spot. Can't wait to hear what you did!
LOTS of people left...we were definitely keeping on eye on the storm! Our decision is in the next update! ;)

Mmmmm, your food from the Norway bakery looks delicious. I would eat all of that without a doubt!
Oh my gosh...it was so good!!! I would go back without hesitation! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh...the lightning storm was CRAZY...I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't nervous about it!

So happy you stopped by Kringla Bakeri og Kafe... it's one of my favorite World Showcase stops for a great snack! I'm nearly obsessed with those sweet pretzels!!! :lmao:
I can see why you LOVE the sweet pretzels...I tried a bite of the one that Chris got and oh my gosh! So tasty! :thumbsup2

I hope a storm didn't chase you away from Illuminations!
You'll find out in our next update! ;) I was so nervous about the lightning...the video clip only showed a "small portion" of what we saw coming our way!!!

What a faulous trip report!!
Thank you so much!!! :flower3: Glad you're here to read!

Looks like a fun day at Epcot!
We really did have a fun day! :goodvibes Glad to see that you're back from your trip!!! Did you have a great time? :yay:

I hope you got to see Illuminations!!
Coming right up in my next update! ;)

Ok, Michelle...that would have been SCARY! :rotfl2:

It looks like you guys were having a blast on your tour around WS!
We had so much fun!!! I'm sure the people around us thought we were nuts, but we had a great time entertaining each other!

I'm so glad you liked the bakery in Norway, I was surprised how much we liked it, and wasn't that cloudberry horn delish? I'll be forever grateful to Trish for turning me on to those!
Oh my gosh...the bakery was fantastic! We've been there before to get snacks, but never thought to eat there before this trip??? :confused3 Oh, and the cloudberry horn...wow! So good! :goodvibes I can see why Trish likes them so much!!!

Yikes! That was quite a lightening strike! I think I would have headed for the exits.......
The scary thing is that the video you saw was only a small portion of what we saw headed our way...:scared1:

Dreams Can Come True!

When I last left you, some pretty nasty storms were rolling in. My nerves were pretty much shot as the lightning continued to put on a show and people filed out of the WS. Chris checked out the weather on his phone and continued to reassure me that we would be fine to stay. I really didn't want to leave, with it being our final night in the World and wanting to see IllumiNations, but I was a bit worried about the weather. :sad2: I kept myself busy by snapping a couple of night shots...

With a watchful eye to the sky, the storm wasn't very far off, but never got any closer. IllumiNations was a GO and our dreams came true of being able to see a show on our last Disney night. :woohoo: And so our streak continued...although it rained a little during our week on the property, we never got so much as a drop in our time spent in the parks. :yay: With a lightning storm behind us and IllumiNations out in front of us, it truly was a MAGICAL NIGHT! :wizard:

I must say, Mother Nature sure does know how to challenge the Disney corporation when putting on a "light show!" :lmao:

Here are a few shots from IllumiNations...

I must admit...I did get a little teary eyed during the ending of the show...I don't know if it was the music, seeing one of my favorite shows, thinking about our fantastic trip in the World, or just a combination of everything! :sad1:

After the show, we headed back to the resort with smiles on our faces...we truly had such a magical time in the World!

Up Next: On the road again...

SIDE NOTE: Our basement is FINALLY finished!!! :goodvibes Our carpet was put in on Thursday and we received our furniture on Saturday. We're finally getting back to "normal" around here!

Oh, and I'm a real happy girl right now...how about my 7-0 Spartans! That was just the icing on the cake to my weekend! :cheer2:

AWW those are some great illuminations shots!! I am so glad the weather worked out great for you guys, you just never know with Disney, thats the crazy part about trying to plan a trip there!!

Do you have a usual spot to watch Illuminations from and off topic do you have one for Wishes?? I just was at a loss when we were down there and for some reason could not think of best spots to watch fireworks from

Also congrats on the basement and your spartans :goodvibes I know how good it feels to finish a project around the house!

Congrats on the basement being complete, what a relief!

Great update, but I'm sad it's already your last night at WDW! :sad2:

So glad that the lightning storm held off and you were able to see Illuminations on your last night! We love that show -- the music always makes me teary, too! Gorgeous photos!

Hurray that your house is returning to normal! That must be a relief! :goodvibes

I was happy to read that the storm passed around Epcot and you were able to see Illuminations on your last day in Disney. Your pictures are, once again, fabulous!

Yay! You were able to see Illuminations! Gorgeous pics! :goodvibes I'm sad your leaving the World already though.....

Congrats on getting your basement back to normal AND to your Spartans! I think about you every time I see their game highlights or catch a bit of a game. I was completely shocked last night to see that my Sooners were #1 in the BCS, we totally haven't played well enough to be there in my opinion, but I'll take it! We'll see if we can hold on to that this weekend, we go to Missouri, who is also undefeated. College Game Day will be there to fire up their fans even more, and we haven't really played all that well on the road - could be bad!

Thanks so much, Shannon! :flower3: I was glad the weather held out too...I was so nervous that we would have to leave!!!

Generally, we watch Illuminations near Canada or the United Kingdom. This time, we were right by Italy and I thought it was one of the best spots we've been in! :thumbsup2 For Wishes, our FAVORITE spot is in the hub by the Partner's statue...it's just a pain to get up there sometimes, with the crowds.

Also congrats on the basement and your spartans :goodvibes I know how good it feels to finish a project around the house!
Oh my gosh...thank you!!! It's so nice to have our basement back and I'm so happy with the way it turned out! :goodvibes I am so happy about the Spartans too! :woohoo:

OH MY GOSH! I KNOW! It is a good time to be a Spartan! We're number 7 in the BCS right now! I am lovin it!
It's a GREAT time to be a Spartan!!! :yay: #7? Incredible! I'm lovin' it too! :goodvibes

Congrats on the basement being complete, what a relief!
Thank you so much! I feel like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders...I'm so happy with the way it turned out too! :thumbsup2

Great update, but I'm sad it's already your last night at WDW! :sad2:
Thank you, Tracy! I know...but, I still have lots of great things to share from the rest of our adventure! :woohoo:

So glad that the lightning storm held off and you were able to see Illuminations on your last night! We love that show -- the music always makes me teary, too! Gorgeous photos!
Chris and I love the show too and we were so thankful to be able to see it! :goodvibes Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who gets teary during the show...thanks so much for the compliment on my pics, Jackie! :flower3:

Hurray that your house is returning to normal! That must be a relief! :goodvibes
It's a HUGE relief! I'm so happy that we're finally getting back to "normal!" I can actually relax in my basement again, instead of walking down there just to turn around and head back upstairs!

I was happy to read that the storm passed around Epcot and you were able to see Illuminations on your last day in Disney.
Thank you so much!!! :goodvibes I was truly worried looking up at the sky...it was so nice to be able to stay and watch IllumiNations on our last night in WDW.

Your pictures are, once again, fabulous!
Thank you for the sweet compliment! :flower3:

Yay! You were able to see Illuminations!
Can you believe it? If it had been solely up to me, I think we would have left...the lightning was a bit scary! I'm so glad we stuck it out! :thumbsup2

Gorgeous pics! :goodvibes
Thanks so much, Michelle! :flower3:

I'm sad your leaving the World already though.....
I know.....at least I still have some great things to share from the rest of our adventures! :goodvibes

Thank you and thank you! Too funny...I think about you whenever I hear about the Sooners too! :) Oh my gosh...#1...amazing! Keep it up...I'll be thinking about you this weekend! I hope they play well! We're #7 in the BCS and I'm thrilled about that...I hope we continue to play well too! :woohoo:
