A New Favorite CS & Meeting the Mouse
After a fantastic first day in the MK at Disney, Chris and I were hopeful for another wonderful day. We woke up nice and early and headed to the food court to use some of our snack credits for breakfast. One of the items that we got were some beignets. They were very good, but definitely no Cafe' Du Monde (New Orleans). The beignets we had in New Orleans were definitely the best we've ever had, but these were a close second!
Shortly after eating, we headed to the buses and made it to Hollywood Studios just before the gates were opened...yes, another rope drop!
Our first order of business was to join the masses in grabbing FPs for Toy Story Mania. Being there so early, I was actually quite shocked at how long the FP line was...I can't even imagine it later in the day! We scored FPs with a return time of 11:10 and then set off for my favorite, the Tower of Terror.
We were shocked to find that the line for ToT was quite a bit shorter than the FP line for TSM. We buzzed through the line in no time at all...then we experienced a fantastic drop sequence...LOTS of falls! Plus, Chris and I loved the new elements of the ride...the photos during the ride were pretty funny! Here we are after our fun ride!!!
After our "terrifying" elevator experience, we headed over to see Beauty and the Beast...another one of my favorites!
I just LOVE this show...it is so well done! Here are a few of the pictures that I took...I thought they turned out pretty well for the seats that we had...I think we were somewhere in the middle of the theater!
Leaving the show, we decided to browse a few shops on Sunset Blvd. There were a few purposes for this...to wait out our FP time, check out the merchandise, but most importantly...to cool off! Today was a scorcher!
Just before 11:10, we headed over to Rock 'N Roller Coaster to get FPs. We scored passes for 3:10 p.m.
Next up, we visited our new favorite CS in Hollywood Studios...Starring Rolls Cafe.
Chris and I both had a turkey sandwich and chips. I had a banana split for dessert and Chris had a marble cupcake.
WOW this meal was good! The portions were huge and so tasty! I can't believe we had never tried Starring Rolls before this trip. We will definitely be back!
After lunch, we made our way over to Toy Story Mania.
We were SO EXCITED to ride this for the first time! Chris did come away with the win, but didn't feel as great about beating me on this ride (No victory dance like on Buzz!
) because my "shooter" wasn't working properly. It would work for a few launches and then it wouldn't work at all...it was a little frustrating!
I still had a great time, but I wish I would have gotten the "full" experience. With the FPs already gone for the day and the super long wait times, I knew this would be my only time to ride TSM this trip. Oh well...there's always next time!
Next up, we stopped at One Man's Dream.
I have been in this attraction so many times and seen the video numerous times and I never tire of it! I always get a little teary-eyed hearing Walt's story.
Before we left to come on our trip, we told our nephew, Eli, that we would try to meet some very special people and bring him some pictures. Eli is only 2 years old, but is obsessed with Mickey (Mic Mouse as he calls him) and Lightning McQueen (Keen to Eli). So we set off to find the Mouse! Chris and I found Sorcerer Mickey in the Animation Academy and we managed to get one of the special pictures for our nephew!
Our morning was off to a great start, but there was still so much more to come!
