To Croc or Not to Croc??

The crocs website has a size chart that you print out to determine your size. It was accurate for me and the kids, I ended up ordering our usual sizes. The crocs are meant to be a little big with about a half inch left at the back and your toes should not be touching the front. They're also wider than a regular shoe.

I love my 'crocs'! I have the sketcher brand of crocs and I think they are more comfortable then the 'brand name' crocs! Two of my sisters have 'real' crocs and we've traded them off to see what ones were the best (whether they have the original name on them or not) and we all agree the sketcher brand ARE more comfy! I paid just as much for them - I was at the 'Great Wolf Lodge' in Traverse City in need of some water shoes and that was the brand they carried... so I got them! Anyhoo, try 'em - you'll like 'em!

I  my athens, and want the charcoal/cotton candy color. My concern with wearing them around WDW would be that they feel like they will fall off. I notice that I grip the shoe with my toes when walking...

I want to get some Ithacas and Capris, but don't know if they will be as comfy.

I have a pair of Primas, but can't figure out how to just stretch out the toes. I put them in the dryer and walked around the house, but they proceeded to lose all shape and support (I have flatish feet). Threw them back in the dryer and they regained their original shape, but they are so tight on the toes...

I LOVE my crocs...I stand on my feet 6-8 hours a day at work, and my New Balance just don't help my feet anymore (I can only last about an hour in them), but I put on my crocs and I can make it all the way thru!! Now I have major foot problems (Plantar Fasciitis) and sometimes I can barely walk...I'm not pain free all the time, but a lot more than I was before. I am even going to attempt walking at WDW in September (but we'll have the money for the ECV just in case I can't make it). I also get the Rx Relief (only available from crocs.com)

If you wanna try them, but don't want to spend $30+ per pair...you can save some money go thru here: http://www.currentcodes.com/showstore.php?store=32&Go.x=23&Go.y=12

And then if you sign up for Google Checkout you'll get an additional $10 off ! I just ordered my boys disney crocs for $15.49 each (signed up for two google checkout accounts).

I thought that crocs were ugly and told myslef that I would never get a pair, until a friend got a pair and I tried them on. I got teh regular ones when they were on sale and fell in love. I then got a pair of the athens with are also comfortable. When the Disney crocs were on sale, I couldn't resist. I have not worn them to WDW because we have not gone sice I got them, but I plan on wearing them on our next trip. My feet usually hurt after standing for a short period of time, but I do not find my feet hurting when I wear my crocs. I love my crocs!!

Get them!! I hated the look of the reg ones too so i went to a local store to at least try them on. I tried a reg pair and a pair of the athens flip flops. They were the softest thing on my feet- EVER! I have a herniated disk and sciatica and i knew i needed them. I ordered mine from ebay because it was the best deal i could find. I thought the athens were kinda wide on the heel so i got the capri style. They actually arrived today and they were instantly comfortable. We are going to las vegas this weekend and i think i am going to try them out if breaking them in in my apartment works out. I am a size 6 1/2 usually but i needed a 6 in the crocs, if that helps anyone needing size help. I am an old navy flip flop girl usually in the summer but this year i can already tell i'm going to live in my capri crocs!

WOW! Look at all these posts!:goodvibes I really appreciate everyone helping this way. I guess the only thing for me to do is buy some crocs and see for myself. Anyway, Disneymoons are not about staring at people's feet. Thanks again, DISers!

I decided to try them, ordered a pair from Dick's Sporting Goods with the 15% off coupon, and the $10 for Google checkout -- came to 17.47 even with tax for CA, and I think the shipping was free. They ain't pretty with my big ol' size 10's, chocolate brown Mary Janes, but they are the lightest thing I've ever had on my feet. I used to always joke that I wanted to invent inflatable shoes to wear around DL, so you could walk around on big cushions of air and your feet wouldn't hurt anymore -- they Crocs are pretty close to the feeling I was hoping for :cool1: The only place I notice they rub a little is on the tops of a couple of toes -- it was recommended I try Body Glide or socks. And I was in the ER with DH about a week ago and noticed a LOT of the nurses were wearing them, so that's a great endorsement. I will take them to WDW and try them out -- might alternate with a super light and comfy pair of walking shoes I'm breaking in right now. DH saw mine and wanted me to order a pair for him, so his Caymans are on the way (and a pair of Teva sandals for me to try!)

I'm also bringing Band Aid Blister Block and moleskin for good measure. Hey, I was a Girl Scout, gotta be prepared for anything!

Quick everyone plan a trip during her disneymoon... and lets follow her everywhere staring at her feet! :rotfl2:

Have a great trip! ;)

I'm another one who switched between Crocs and Keens. The Crocs were certainly comfortable enough when it came to heel cushioning, but the tops started to rub the tops of my feet just enough that I was starting to get blisters. That probably had more to do with my feet being big and wide, than any problem with the Crocs. The Keens also have great heel cushioning and did not rub the tops of my feet. The only downside to Keens is that they're really pricey.

Has anyone tried the new croclings for thier kids? I thought they might be great because they wouldn't slip off, but then I was worried they may not be as comfortable.

Also I tried the mary jane style and my toes touched in the 6, so should I go with a 7. I wear a 61/2 in athletic shoes. I have a cayman croc in 6, but I can't wear it with the back strap b/c it shoves my toes to the top. Maybe my toes are abnormally long!:rotfl2:

I wear a 7.5-8, and tried the Disney beach in a small and a medium. I am completely in between, because my toes are crammed in the small (although wearing the strap in front would probably help) and my feet SWIM in the mediums. Anyway, I don't really have to worry about it b/c DH has forbidden me to get any of the clog styles. :lmao: He makes faces at my athens and primas too, but, well, too bad! LOL!

If you go to the crocs website, there is a whole parton sizing. If you wear a half you are supposed to go down, but when you put the strap down you should be able to comfortably fit your index finger in. I would go the website and read how they are supposed to fit and compare it to yours. I love my crocs so much that I splurged and got a pair of Disney one!

Now it is time for the jibbitz. By the way, does anyone have the Tinkerbell one? Because it looked a bit odd on line, I was just wondering what people thought about seeing one in person. Thanks

I think it is so cute and sweet that you are surprising her! Have a great time and an early congratulations. :)

My mother bought me a pair of crocs when she bought her own..she has bad knees and feet. I LOVE them I wear them to work, people make fun but my feet don't hurt. I just bought DD4 her own and then bought her the decorations, all Disney princesses of course to decorate the holes. I was debating about taking them to WDW but I think you all have convinced me to do so. I think I will buy myself a new pair of Disney ones.

:wizard: :cheer2: :coffee:

I have a pair of athens and a pair of professional crocs and I would now not be without them. Sure you get some comments on them, but if you let anyone try them on they soon understand why you wear them. I will be bringing both my pairs to Disney in June.

I wear my professionals both with and without socks depending on the weather and they are very comfy either way. Congratulations and enjoy your Disneymoon! :thumbsup2
