Okay, so we're going to Disney for free dining in September, and I will be about 4 months pregnant. I have all my ADRs scheduled, but I'm worried that I may not be up to eating at the times that I suggested. ANy suggestions?

Arriving Saturday around noon, no ADRs scheduled
Sunday - Crystal Palace - 10:30 breakfast
Monday - Le Cellier - 12:40 lunch
Tuesday - Whispering Canyon (DH's birthday lunch - shhh it's a surprise) - 2:30 lunch
Wednesday - 50s Prime Time Cafe - 6:30 dinner
Thursday - Chef Mickey's - 8:30 breakfast and leave at 5:00p for home

Should I cancel and just wing it? I really don't want to, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it to all of these. Can you cancel ressies that same day if for some reason I'm just not up to it? Thanks!

If it were me I would keep your reservations. You have awesome choices right now but if you cancel them and wing it I think you will be sorry. You could end up eating at mostly counter service places because the restaurants will more than likely be booked solid. You will be looking forward to a nice rest inside in aircondition to rejuvinate you. If you think you will need a snack in between just bring something with you. Good luck.

jennapens, don't cancel your A.D.R.'s. You can cancel any one that you want if you aren't feeling up to it. I've never been there during free dining but from what I read it is VERY hard to get into a TS without one. At least you will have one and you will need to take some breaks. OK, I'm not an expert but I have 3 children and I can tell you every pregnancy is different. At 4 months you may not have an appetite but then again you might be ravenous and that is an important stage so make sure to get all your food groups. Oh man, I'm sounding like your mom - sorry.

I agree with Epcotgal. Better to keep your ADR's and then cancel them if you have to. They are becoming extremely scarce during the free dining promotion. I also agree that each pregnancy is different. With my pregnancies, I had my share of those, "I can't even look at food moments.":scared1: But, I had the "eat an appetizer, my entree, 1/2 of DH's entree and order a dessert" weeks also. :rotfl2: There's just no way to know. Good luck with everything.

Don't cancel! You can always cancel at the last minute if need be with no problem. When I was pregnant with both my kids at 4 months, I was hungry ALL the time, so maybe you'll get lucky and get to fully appreciate the DDP.

We cancelled a lunch at Tony's Town Square the morning of our ADR. No problem. I vote to keep your ADR's change them later. Better to be safe than sorry.

And hopefully by 4 months, you'll be over any of those "not really wanting to eat" moments! I found that after the first trimester, things settled back to normal, or I was ravenous at weird times, but rarely was I not up to eating at all!

We're also going in September for free dining and I'll be 4 months pregnant as well. I'm keeping all of my ADRs and I figured that if for some reason I don't feel up to eating I just won't. If I end up with an aversion to meat like last time I'll just ask for vegetarian options. Since we won't be paying extra for the food I won't feel bad if I can't eat it. Besides, my DH and DS4 and DS1 will need to eat regardless of how I'm feeling.

I notice you're from PA. We live in the heart of the south, and I thought I was prepared for the heat and expanse of WDW at 11 weeks pg in September. Boy was I wrong! That trip to WDW kicked my behind. So, regarding your ADRs I can say a few things: You may or may not be hungry for that food, but you will probably want real food on occasion, including a fruit or vegetable here and there. The counter service will get old fast. Regardless of appetite, your feet will be tired and you'll want to sit in air conditioning. So go with the flow and don't feel guilty if you're across the World and can't make it. Just be kind enough to call and cancel at the last minute if you decide you can't get to the ADR.
Great advice here from all these moms. Enjoy the opportunity to slow down at WDW and enjoy the people watching and details of the World.

Don't underestimate yourself!!! Be prepared, but don't assume it will be hard to be there pregnant! Just go with the flow!

I went last year during free dining and was 3 months pregnant. I had already arranged all of our ADRs before I found out I was pregnant, and we decided to keep them as they were --- everyone else had to eat sometime even if I wasn't up to it!! There was 6 of us in our party. I had more food aversions than you could possibly imagine, and so at some of the table services I just enjoyed my glass of water while everyone else ate -- the break was nice. I found that I was happier if I ate frequently (every 2 hours minimum) using the group's snack credits, than I would have been gorging at a table service meal.

It was very hot our entire trip --- mid to upper 90's in late August. I had no aversion to Mickey ice cream bars, although it was tough explaining to my kids why mommy got to eat so much ice cream (it's good for the baby .... :rotfl: ) Right up until our trip, I was incredibly nauseous (lost 10 pounds in first trimester) and very very tired (it's tough work dividing cells). Miraculously, my energy level returned for the trip and I was able to do any attractions that I judged was safe to do (including a number of things that I would probably be flamed for if I admitted it on here). :rolleyes1

Your trip may end up being different than you planned, but I've discovered that they always are different anyway. Enjoy yourself and this special time! And find something sweet for that new bundle of joy from Disney!

Oh yes, about eating too much at once -We drove 10 hours with some breaks to get to WDW. Checked into our AKL (Concierge upgrade!!!) room for 1 night. Ate a snack in the lounge cause I was so hungry. Then downstairs to dinner at Jiko - couldn't stand to eat all of my filet with mac n cheese - something I LOVE and normally would have devoured. It was too strongly flavored and too much food. But I soaked up the atmosphere, gave the leftovers to DH, and enjoyed my gingerale. Same thing later at CG - I just couldn't muster my normal enthusiasm for our usual 4 courses there. DH was a little disappointed since food is such a big part of our WDW fun.

I think you could easily plan to eat appetizers and dessert if you aren't very hungry and get your entree to go (or share it with someone else).

My wife's "morning sickness" was never a problem in the morning... she felt the effects mostly in the evening. In any case I believe it disappeared by the 4th or 5th month. Maybe you'll luck out!
