I have made a reservation for my DD's 3rd birthday at Bippity Boppity Boutique. I am nervouse though because she pitches a fit every time I brush her hair at home. I have looked at some videos on you tube of BBB and it looks like they are really rough with brushing their hair. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the $$$ or just wait until she's older. These are one of those things that keep me up at night so any advice would be grately appreciated!:surfweb:

Ooops, posted this in the wrong forum. Oh well. Will post it elsewhere too:)

We brought my DD to the BBB shortly before her 4th birthday. She had really long hair and at that time was not a fan of getting her hair brushed. She LOVED the BBB! They were really gentle with her and kept her entertained with stories and stuff.

HTH!

I'm going to move this over to the Family Board. I think that you'll get a better response to your question there.

There is a HUGE difference between good 'ol mommy brushing her hair, and a Fairy God Mother in training. Just make sure her hair is well de-knotted before you get there, and I'm sure you and she will have a fine time! Make sure to take lots of pictures!!!!

I guess it's worth a shot. She's getting better with the hair, and you're right, fairy godmother is a lot different than mom doing the brushing!

My dd is 9 and still complains when I brush her hair; but when others do it no problem and she has always been that way.

I'm sure that as long as you are not the one brushing she will do fine:goodvibes

All 3 of my DD's hate it when I brush their hair, BUT let a Fairy Godmother In Training do it and they were angels!!!! My Dh was even amazed at how they just sat still while we watched!!
We are definitely planning this again!:thumbsup2

I can basically just say "ditto" to what everyone else has already said. My DD hates when I brush it, but LOVES the BBB (she's done it twice). We plan on letting her do it again when we go in January.

Perhaps talk to the person that is going to do your daughter's hair. Explain to them that she has a hard time with getting her hair brushed. I don't know why they couldn't take the extra step and be extra careful. It's disney after all if it's your daughter's bday and she'd love getting it done - I'd do everything I could to make sure the BBB makes it a happy time.

My daughter is the same way, hates having her hair brushed and all. But boy did she have a blast being transformed into a princess. I would keep your reservation your daughter will love it.

I took my 3 yr old grand daughter last year to BBB, she fell asleep as they were brushing her hair and slept thru the whole thing and her fairy godmother had to have another fairy godmother come over and hold her head up so she could put her make-up on, it was so funny. But when I ask her if she wants to go back this year she is adament that NO she does not want to do it because her hair was to tight and that it hurt but I have talked her into going back and getting a different hairstyle this year.

My dd had JUST turned 3. We did the biggest package with the dress, hair, nails, makeup.. She has curly hair and it tangles soooo easily. She absolutely HATES having her hair brushed. HATES!! So we were pretty worried. Also shes never had a haircut or been to the salon. We get there and shes so excited and feeling like a princess. The fairy godmother was amazing and she didn't even cringe. She has been talking about it since - and this was back in May. We are doing it again this birthday - and every birthday until she says no more haha. It was well worth every penny for us. Our daughter thought she was Cinderella. She walked out and down Main Street (wouldnt ride in the stroller at this point haha) waving at people and she would turn around and tell people that the castle was hers haha. She had the princess wave down pat. She was just soooo happy.

My 5 year old daughter's hair is so curly she hates to brush it also. I've made reservations to BBB as a suprise for her and I'm a little nervous about it too. Any suggestions for a good detangler? I've tried Johnson's and Johnson's but that doesn't seem to do much in her hair. Also, any idea how long the hair and nail package takes? Thanks so much!

My daughter is a tender head and cries when I attempt to french braid her hair. She had no problem at the BBB. I don't know how they do it, but I have never seen a little girl crying at getting her hair brushed in there!

BBB was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of our trip. We arrived at 930 for our appointment, only to find out that I had the wrong time down. Our appointment was for 340 pm, with a dinner reservation at 530 Park Fare. They said they had an opening at 1045, it worked out great. She was picked for the princess in the window at downtown disney. She loved it. She had her own personal photographer, we got over 100 pictures of her having the whole makeover done. The cool thing was she didn't have the huge package, only hair and nails. So even though it wasn't a ton of money she still got this special day. We will definetly do it again!
