Well, we are going back again in March. Such a lovely time to visit.

At the moment I get a price of 601.30eur for 6night/7day trip for three of us at SF or Cheyenne and SL is coming up to 823 eur, HNY is over 900eur.

It's a 30 off and kids stay free deal. Last year I got 40 off.

I admit - price is tempting! But again, should I take the risk and wait? Lats year I booked in September and better deal never came up. As looking at offer dates, their the same as last years, so a better offer might not come up...

As the price still looks pretty reasonable I would probably book the SF or CH now and then, if a better deal came out, I'd upgrade to a better grade of hotel! :thumbsup2

I'm very jealous, I don't think we'll be able to do a March trip this year as we're tied to going during term time now :sad2: March is definitely the best time of year to go! :goodvibes

DS1 won't be having school holidays by then, but I don't care. Last time we just skipped school and will do this for next trip also. I don't mind. I'm a bad mom. Skipping school to visit DLP... if only teachers knew... :lmao:

that's what we did last year, but the UK schools are now fining people for doing that - so I'm going to be a good girl (for once! :rotfl:) and stick to non-term time trips, even if they do costs me an absolute fortune! :(

oh wow! That's bad. I just tell my kid is sick :rolleyes1

Just don't tell your child where they are going - if the school get wind of it its £60 per child and per parent! Ouchio!!! That attack of amnesia afterwards might come in handy ;)

There's no way DD could go back to school without wanting to do a show and tell about the trip haha I'd get busted in an Instance!

Well, I should be happy I don't live in UK :lmao:

We're going 24-28th March, paid £402 for Cheyenne, SL was coming in at £517, we may upgrade if a flash sale comes along.

PS I'm really lucky our school allows 10 days holiday (the headmaster authorizes it) to be fair though its the only time DS has off, last school year was 3 days for dlp and 100% apart from that. I think they tend to be much more flexible if the attendance is good and they're working well. Family time is important too :)

I plan 6 night stay and 100Eur per night for 3 of us seems very reasonable :goodvibes

They now fine you £60 per child per parent for taking holidays in term time. :(

The government changed the law starting from 1st September 2013, its no longer down to the schools.

Not all schools do, mine certainly doesn't and I don't know any in the area that do. Its down to the headteachers discretion here.

Well we've not heard anything here and my sister is a teacher and her school aren't doing it from September, I'd pay the £60 anyway, its certainly still cheaper than going term time.

Another from me (oops!), just spoke to a friend who is also one of our school governors and she says our school won't be fining parents as of September, phew!

For our school its a fine of £60 per child per parent from September so £240 to take my 2 out of school! :(
They had 100% attendance this school year, I think the school should consider individual cases really, can understand them not authorising leave for children who miss lots of days generally.

Reading what I have they take attendance into account but head teachers have been strongly advised not to authorise the holidays. The time off can be authorised for other things and the fine per chid per parent is standard across England

We are booked for the Cheyenne march 17 same length stay as you £652.
2 adults to free kids.
If I better offer comes along I will upgraded to the SL ( fingers crossed).
Can not wait it will be 2 years since our last visit and DH first visit.
We have had the letter about the fines at our school but unsure how they going to work it, we have alot of travellers at our RC school all very nice people but can not see them paying the fine.
A few people have holidays booked after school returns in September I will see what happens then.:confused3
