To be a Disneyland apostate...

I thought this was funny. You don't like character meets, but your avatar is you, your son, and Mickey and a character breakfast. HA!!!

Anyway, for me, it's Toy Story Mania. There's constantly a 45 minute line for this attraction, but I don't understand why. I always take my kids on it, but they'd let me, I'd skip that line and do something else. Buzz always has a shorter line with the same experience - why the hype?

And someone else post about the Matterhorn. I agree. I keep doing once each year, and then limp away saying "what's the big deal about this?".

I admit to forcing a few. It's MICKEY!!!!! Lol

I agree with everyone who doesn't get the hype surrounding TSMM. It's a fun ride once, just to enjoy the details and see what it's all about. But you're basically just riding through a video game, and I never find it worth standing in line for.

The other one I avoid is Goofy's Sky School. That one just scares me! The turns are so tight, it feels like you're going to fly off the track at every corner. But my DGD8 loves that ride, and it's just her and I on our next trip so I might have to put my big girl pants on and ride it with her. Yikes!

Blue Bayou. Easily the worst food and dining experience I've ever had at a Disney restaurant.

The light-up menu was cool though.

All of you TSMM haters (well.....dislikers :crazy2:) can just stay outta my line, then! I don't know why it is even my favorite and I actually agree with what everyone has said...you're just riding in a video game...it's like Buzz, etc....yeah, but I just love it so much!! If y'all would kindly move along and NOT ride it, I would be so appreciative and then maybe I'd share my Mint Julep with you (cause those things are nasty!)

At the Expo he said you could only do the custom orders when he does live event appearances. He had samples of all the letter styles as well, so you could lay it out exactly how you want it. The ticket books were something he has just introduced, so I'm not sure if he does those when he's at places like Art of Disney now.

There is nothing wrong with your opinion. I appreciate it. I'm glad that certain attractions have their devoted adherents. To me, it means that, at the mean level, Disney is able to develop attractions that meet the expectations and delight most people attending the parks.

This thread is for people who are not in that mean.

Different pull-back shooting mechanism and more variation via video screens in midway mania, buzz is a more straight shooting gallery but with frustrating aiming and sensors.

I read a post on Facebook some months ago that they were installing cushions, or better cushions, on the seats. Anyone know if they did?
Yes, they did as of a few months ago, but I didn't get to test them out yet.

It actually kind of captures what I think a goofy ride would be like with the feeling of being dumped out at every corner in a clumsy, jerky ride. Nice theming in the sky.

Ditto to the Matterhorn! I'm glad I'm not the only one. It just hurt. I couldn't understand the long lines. I didn't even notice the yeti or whatever it is, I was too busy trying to survive with minimal broken bones.

Yes, they did, and they do help somewhat, but the Matterhorn is still the Matterhorn (my favorite ride at DLR, for the record).
