To BCV owners, should I do this??

We are torn between the Disney cruise and staying at the BCV's again for our next April school vacation, 2005. If we decide on the BCV's...it would be the week of April 16th, 2005. I know it is a popular week up here in the Northeast, but will it be popular enough to book day by day or will I be able to wait and just book it all at once?

I don't have an answer regarding reservations but regarding your dates instead.

I don't have the actual dates in front of me but I've just received our school calendar for 2004-2005. My children attend public school in a suburb of NY.

We have off the friday and Monday of the last weekend in March. Easter.

The Thursday, Friday and Monday of the last weekend of April, Passover.

So I don't think April 16th will be a problem because it's not during any holiday week.

Wow, your spring break is going to be a few weeks after ours! (Ours will be March 21-25 next year).
Since Easter is kind of early next year (March 27), maybe the Spring Breaks will be a little more spread out next year (I can hope ).
But, in answer to your question: something like Spring Break where you have no flexibility on the dates, I would do a day by day reservations. Good luck to you.

Here in Texas our Spring Breaks are pretty early. This year they run the 2nd week in March. This is usually true for most years.

I would call MS the first day and ask their opinion and then decide. It should be an active week but not too busy with Easter being so early

Jill; I am pretty sure it is just Maine and Mass (notably the two States who observe Patriots' Day) who take spring break at that time. So for accomodations you might be OK waiting (I would go day-by-day myself, just to be sure). Now Airline reservations are what is gonna be in shortest supply, since a limited number of flights from our airports, etc. I plan to get those at the 331 day mark (and see if I can't use FF miles ). I love the Patriots Day holiday (the marathon goes past the end of my street) and really like that both my home state and state of residence both celebrate; plus it makes for less crowded resorts when we're on vacation in the spring.

I booked for this coming April only 6.5 months out, and had my choice of a 2-br in all four resorts. It was a bit of a shock, since our break this year is only one week later than the very busy Easter week. If you're calling 11 months out, you shouldn't have a problem. Of course, if it was me, I'd still call day by day. I'm a worrier.

This part of upstate NY (Saratoga area) also has break April 18-22, 2005. We "observe" Patriots Day too, that is we get that extra day to get our income taxes mailed in.

Thanks again everyone. I think I will call on that first day available and see what the scoop is. My request is pretty specific in that I want a 2 br with the two queens, so we'll see.
Pumpkinboy, I'll be calling at the 331 day mark too! So we'll be on the phone together at midnight, so good luck. Shoot, maybe we'll be on the same plane. Our plan is to go Friday, April 15th, to spend one night at our first "home", POR. Then to switch to BCVs for the Sat-Sat. in a 2 br till the 23rd. Actually, I am waiting for the 2005 cruise points to come out to make our final decision on going on our first cruise, but I have a terrible feeling that week will be in the regular season, so that will answer my question and we'll definitely go with the BCV's. Fun decisions though. Are you booking your flights as one ways? Thats what I usually do on really popular weeks. I am deathly afraid of the fares going sky high.
