Just wondering what the local weather people are saying about Katrina's impact on Orlando? I have been watching the weather channel and they are focusing on W.Palm and Miami. So I take that as a positive. My flight arrives around 1pm tomorrow (Thurs.)

i was hoping to find the same info since my flight is sched'd to land around 9:30 am...

One positive I am taking is that they are expecting landfall Late Thursday-early Friday morning. So hopefully the worst of it will be in the middle of the night. :umbrella:

trying to keep positive.

I work for Osceola County Fire rescue and according to or Emergency OPs Center, we are under a tropical storm watch until friday evening. We can expect wind and rain from feeder bands, but as we learned last year, these things are unpredictable. Hope this helps,
Richie

Currently they are expecting winds around 25-30 mph and about 2-3 inches of rain for the weekend. However if it turns sooner and moves closer to the gulf coast of Florida, then the effects will be larger in Orlando.

Path has improved since last night. Looks like it's taking an even more southern westward swing than was being forecast as of last night. Forecast for Orlando for weekend calls for rain, but not much wind. Sounds OK to me.

Seems to all boil down to "battling computer models" with the "human" weather forecasters just looking on and wondering which is correct-- :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
