To all you Northeners....

We love the Charlottesville, VA area. We can hike, visit wineries, and we are history buffs, so lots of history in Virginia. We were in Sedona over the summer, did not like the area at all, we needed the trees and grass. Yes it was beautiful, but could not live there.

Florida or Texas. I hate winter and would love to live where I wouldn't need a winter coat or where it snows. Lol! :)

I can't handle the critters that come with living in the south. Snakes, spiders, gators, palmetto bugs..........no way.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!

I just barely tolerate the miserable weather in Florida to go to Disney. Every year I swear I am never going back because of the heat!! But then the memory of sweating and sunburn fade and I go back.

Hate the heat. Our whole family does. I love living where the seasons change (could skip summer and be happy).

Why would anyone leave a place where the leaves change colours, and the lights of Christmas sparkle against the snow....

Oh yeah..... the bus, spiders, snakes etc.

And the hurricanes and tropical storms...

Or West Coast...Earthquakes!!!

The older I get, the more I don't like Ohio winters. I would move to Kentucky, Tennesee, or Georgia. Georgia would be my preference, because we have friends there. :goodvibes

If we only had 3 seasons here in Mass, I'd stay for sure - but I've had 44 years of seasons now & I think I'd be pretty happy to be somewhere a little warmer!

Hi:
I hate all weather colder than 60 degrees and I live in NH. What a joke on me! If my husband didn't have a job he loved and if our family was not nearby, we would relocate to the South. My first pick is Florida, probably either in Lutz (good friends there) or the Ocala area (more like New England with its horse farms and hills). My husband would pick So. Carolina or GA.

If you could move south to escape the north cold winters where would you move to? I would love to move to So Cali but do not think we could afford it. My second choice would be the west coast of Florida.

I completely agree with you about location. I need an ocean within an hour of the house and want no more snow !

Orlando so I can go to my happy place anytime I want.

hey, I live in NH and in 1 single week we had a hurricane, earthquake, and tornado. I'm all for trying out someplace new where I don't get stuck in my house behind 8 feet of snow.

Yeah ditto that! Who knew!
I must admit that I enjoy living in New England between May-Dec. January, Feb, Mar, and April suck!!!!!! Just miserable, dreary, cold, sickness and depression. Once Christmas is over I tend to hibernate for the next 4 months. I don't handle being cold very well at all. I am cold when its 70 outside.

Born and raised in coastal South Carolina, I have a "love/hate" relationship with where I live. I HATE the summers and wish we had more of the 4 seasons but all of my family is here soooo...in the heat is where we stay :rotfl:

You really need to move.....you can't even enjoy the ocean in NH. Like walking into an ice bath!

Yep, those huge bugs, reptiles and rodents they grow in the south are a big deterrent to ever moving there. Those snakes are HUGE! YUCK! The hurricaines, tropical storms, tornados, heat, humidity and other severe weather just make it worse.

Yes, we do get snow, but it does melt! Yes, sometimes, every 20 or 30 years we get some kind of freakish weather, like a tropical storm that dumps 15 inches of rain on us. But to put up with that stuff all the time? Heck no.

I would move back to Florida or Southern CA in a heartbeat if either of us got a good job. We had to move from FL last year due to a job and we both miss it so much more than we thought we would! I do love fall here but the summer is a little too cool for my liking and I can't stand the spring or winter/snow. I like snow for Christmas and then I could care less about it. I liked central FL (the Celebration, Dr. Phillips, Winter Park, Windemere areas.)

The bugs for us are actually worse in MA. They spray so much in FL I rarely got mosquito bites or bugs in the house. Lady bugs a few spiders and maybe 3 Palmetto bugs in 6 years there. Here I get eaten alive by mosquitos in the summer, get big spiders every day in the mudroom, lots of wasps, yellow jackets, etc. There are fire ants in the grass in FL-those I hate. And snakes-yes. They don't bother me.
