*** to all who make requests on this Creative DISigns forum!! ***

please do NOT start a thread with too general a question such as "does anyone do birthday designs" or "where can I find a resort, or a grand welcome or a journal etc."

be specific in your request up front.....I for one rarely respond to these general questions.....it is not up to me to draw out what is actually being requested.

Please give details in original post for more responses.

Please do NOT post a request for a DISigner until you are sure of the rules.

I am tired and sick of repeating myself on DOZENS of posts and I am certainly done with explaining why I make the requirements I do.....

FRUSTRATED? Very much so! Happy to DISign for those that follow the rules?

THRILLED!! (or I'd be out of here!)

I am tired of the requests that ask simply does anyone know who........and gives no details about what they want. :confused3

It is not up to the DISigners to have to draw out what is being requested.

I, for one, will no longer respond to these threads even if I happen to be the WHO that is being sought. It is too darn frustrating!!

So, please be specific up front for best (and most) responses. Thank you.

Also not my fault if you neglect to read this thread or the sticky notes at the top of the forum...... :sad2:

My frustration was not directed at any particular DISer but to many who start posts like "does anyone do invitations?" Those are the kind that I will no longer respond to....I need details!!!

And I NEVER said that I was going to stop DISigning!!

Again, Please provide any personalization details.....colors, characters, names, dates, etc. in your original request......so that the DISigner doesn't have to ask.

Thank you

Do you know how many times I have responded to a request and the person who started the thread seems to vanish off the face of the Earth? I have spent my time doing dozens and dozens when the thread just appears to be abandoned......very very frustrating and may I say, RUDE!!

If you start a thread and then change your mind, please indicate this on your thread. Thanks!! popcorn::

Please read this thread before making an initial request! Also be sure that you read a specific DISigner's rules (post#1 of their thread and maybe their data on the Meet the DISigners sticky) before you join us. We'll love you for it!

Also to all.....please read post #s 21, 23 and 27 in this thread!!!

I am very close to NOT EVER volunteering to do a DISign on a new thread.

Dozens of times I have created DISigns and there is no response whatsoever. It is very very frustrating :sad1: If the DISer decided to use somebody else's DISign that is fine.....but to simply put in a request and then apparently abandon it with no consideration for the time I have invested stinks.

Thanks for reading

A reminder.....there is lots of valuable information in the stickys at the top of the forum. I encourage you to check out the HOW TO sticky in particular!!

And good luck with all your creations. :thumbsup2

Please include the details you want in your initial new thread posting....I continue to find more and more that require a DISigner to ask questions (name, dates, colors, characters, etc.) before they can consider a DISign.

Lately I have had to tell more and more DISers to use GOOGLE to find the clip art they are requesting......I know I won't provide what they can easily grab themselves!

GOOGLE.....it works!!

If you request a label....for a coffee can or a candy bar or a popcorn bag or anything...please indicate the dimensions with your original request. We may not have a similar item to measure, nor the time to take away from other requests.

A DISigner shouldn't have to ask for this clarification. :hippie:

Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Please do NOT start a new thread addressed to a specific DISigner. You should post your request to that DISigner's request thread...and get in line with others making requests.

Thanks!!

Please understand that you may not get a DISign or may not get a selection of DISigns for all your requests. A DISigner needs inspiration to make a DISign. We also may not have any clip art for the DISign you have in mind.

And if the details for the request are not provided up front, DISigners may not feel compelled to ask what is wanted. It is your responsibility to provide. Thanks!!

Hoping you can help me with something, but more importantly hoping you can understand my question.

Someone started a thread "Looking for Ideas" and had an idea for I survived certificates and such. Which made me thing of the idea of having something like that for each of the World Showcase Countries and Club Cool so I posted on that thread my idea. I just bumped that thread back to the top because I'm hoping someone will take on the Disign request and make cards for World Showcase and Club Cool.

But my question is - will other Disgners read my request since it is not the original request? nor is it even my thread. :confused3
Since I did post my request on this thread would it be wrong to start a new thread with my request?

Can you help me please? I need advice on how to best handle my request.

Thanks Marion for all you do. I find your tips and suggestions very helpful.

Allison

I think you have an excellent idea and I think it warrants its own thread. Go ahead and start one....your idea is different from the original poster.

Please do not start new threads for a request when the individual DISigner has a request thread. I do those in MY request thread pretty much in order and a new thread will NOT make me change the priority for your request.

Note that links to my threads and those of many other active DISigners are in the Meet the DISigners sticky....why other active DISigners do not have a listing here, I don't know....they should be easy enough to find on the forum though.

Also note that this thread is for my procedure reminders (and any that other DISigners may contribute). No need for specific request comments here.

Quite a few newbies to our Creative DISigns forum start off their posts with who does this or who does that? (and some not very newbies as well)

May I please ask you to visit the Meet the DISigners sticky at the top of the forum and perhaps you will be guided to the DISigner that can fill your request.

Good luck!

I ask that anyone making requests .....please take a few moments to read. DISers are constantly posting requests when the DISigner has updated their thread title (and posted an explanatory post) to indicate they are taking a DISign break.

Also, there is no evidence that enough people have looked at the Stickys. :confused3

Also, little evidence that many people read rules or instructions.

DISigners donate many hours to create DISigns.....please take the few moments and read information to make the whole process more enjoyable for both you and the DISigner.

To those that do bother reading.....a million thanks!!! :lovestruc

I believe that some DISers have missed these guidelines in the How To sticky at the top of the forum. :surfweb:

I post them here as a reminder:

How do I request a design?

There are several DISers who are more than happy to help with a design. The best place to start in the Meet The DISigners Sticky. Look through the different designers, find a designer that you like and determine if the designer is still creating or modifying designs. If they are, click on their thread and follow the directions listed. Some important things to know
· Read the first page in the designers thread. They normally tell you how they want you to handle the request. Some designers want private messages, some want postings in their thread and others might prefer an email. Please follow their directions if you want them to design or personalize. It is frustrating for a designer to spend a lot of time posting how they can best meet your needs and then have the requester ignore their requests.
· If a Designer has a website, go through their website. You might find that a design you want personalized has already been personalized. I recently did some autograph pages for “Catherine” and another requester wanted the same design with the name Catherine.
· Please do not request the same design from multiple designers – they have a lot of requests and do not want to be duplicating each other’s work – in addition – it can take a while to design a custom shirt and asking two people to design a shirt and only choosing one is wasting the other designers time. If someone is found asking for the same design in two different threads, the designers may decide to not customize/finish the design.
· If you want several DISigners to work on a request, post the request in a new thread.
· If you want something you haven’t seen in someone’s thread, start a new thread. Carefully describe what you would like and more than likely someone will see your request and respond.
· AND - Please be patient! Sometimes it takes awhile to finish a design. Many of the DISigners have families, jobs, other outside interests, and they are not at their computer all day, every day. If you ask a designer for something personalized or customized, they will respond to you if they are not going to do it. If you need the DISign quickly let the DISigner know and if they can’t do it quickly they will tell you. If you find that you do not want to wait, please cancel your request with the original DISigner before you ask someone else (they may be ready to post it)!
