Please, please, please take a look at the sticky notes at the top of the forum. Many of your questions will be answered there!!

Most DISigners have rules for their threads....many as post #1. Every new user should also note the title of the thread that they are posting to as well as anything indicated in the DISigners signature!

If you want something that you cannot find, please do not request on a random thread. Start your own!!

And I again encourage all new users to read the sticky notes at the top of the forum. Many people have recently started threads with questions that are clearly answered there!

Some new users are jumping in with requests without reading instructions, signatures, rules and sticky notes. Please don't be one of them! :thumbsup2
 
More and more new requests are very vague. Please indicate the specifics you are looking for up front.....I know I am less and less inclined to jump in and respond when I have to ask questions to draw out what is being requested....

Colors, characters, WDW (or other vacation spot) on DISign, dates, names

Not simply "I'm looking for an autograph cover" or "who does stroller tags" or "I need a birthday design for a 5 year old" (etc.)

You will get more volunteers to assist if you provide details!!

May I also encourage you to use the Advanced Search feature of the forum. Like many of you I have had difficulty finding what I want with the standard Search but Advanced has served me well....
 

Some notes for all DISers:

1. I want to let everyone know that I will try to fulfill your request but there may be times where I am unable to do so.

An example might be for a restaurant DISign or an invitation where I am unfamiliar with the establishment or event and have nothing to assist me in making a DISign that I could be proud to post.

Sometimes the inspiration is simply lacking.

Very rarely I feel that the changes that are requested are not what I intended in my original DISign and make it less than I envisioned. I don't wish to feel disappointed in anything with my name attached to it....

Sometimes I know that another DISigner has done excellent DISigns of the same category and the DISer would be better served by that DISigner's creativity.

I will never simply say no!

If I ask you to start your own thread and look for creations from other DISigners, please do not be offended. I just want to do my best for you and in that instance feel it is the best thing for you!

2. Some DISigners do not personalize and some do not post blanks. Here is my reasoning for my personal approach:

Want to explain why I rarely post blanks....there have been a number of instances where someone has stolen an image and tried to sell it on Etsy or Ebay. If it is personalized rather than a blank this isn't likely to happen. We are very careful of making it clear that these images are for personal use only and that it is a HUGE violation of Disney copyrights to sell their images....

There seem to be many MANY DISers these days that put in a request, get at least one response, yet never return to respond.

Am I wasting my time? In this case clearly YES!!

Please....if you start a thread and post a request, respond. If you no longer want the DISign or have found it elsewhere, tell us. Likewise inform the masses if you are satisfied with a DISign received and you no longer need additional responses....please?

I have abandonment issues!!! :eek:
 
A number of DISigners, including myself, have multiple threads by subject matter. Please do not post a request in one randomly that belongs in another.

They should be listed in the "Meet the DISigners" sticky or referenced in post #1 of a thread. (sometimes repeated multiple times throughout a thread!)

GOOGLE and other search engines are there for a reason. Please use them!!

I don't want to do the searching for you when I have DISigns to create!

I could go on and on for the searches I have done to find the images I use!!
 
All requests for autograph covers (or pages), journal covers (or pages) and activity book covers absolutely MUST have the dimensions and orientation (horizontal or vertical) in the initial request.

I am tired of having to ask!!
 
If you start a thread for a new request, please do NOT post the same request to an individual DISigner.

I do read the requests and do not respond if I have no inspiration. I do NOT want to see that request again later in one of my threads.....my inspiration will not have increased!!
 
Use the Advanced Search feature under the Search drop down. It works!! I have recently, against my better judgment, done searches that you could easily do yourself.....

I prefer to be DISigning!! Thanks! :surfweb:
 
Show some patience!! I have noticed bumps that occur too soon....you must allow DISigners time to read a thread, consider a request and DISign.

Your deadline may not be met if you very recently DIScovered the forum or you did not post your request with sufficient time for response.

We are volunteer DISigners and DISign at our own pace.....try to rush me and you might be out of luck!! :rolleyes1
 
Many people are indicating that they can't find threads, posts or images.

Do ADVANCED Search under the forum dropdown please!!

I will point people to this feature but will not continue to do it for you.

It works!!

Make sure you select the Creative Boards as the forum to search on the lower right of the advanced search selection boxes.

I personally change all searches to POST searches (rather than thread) then enter the search criteria. I don't bother with the other boxes, but you may want to sometimes.
 
I am repeating myself again about searching!!

Many people indicate they searched for something but clearly did not or don't know how to use search...

I recommend using the Advanced Search (drop down from regular search). Do not type in too many keywords but make sure they are specific enough. Something like "Autograph Pages" or "Candy Wrappers" will bring back too many results to be helpful.

I also recommend searching for posts rather than threads to get to good results quickly.

I have NEVER failed to locate relevant posts!!
 
To all who make autograph books....

Please include the dimensions and orientation you are seeking on your original request.

Some DISigns are hard to change after the fact.

As a fellow DISigner - I for one would like to THANK YOU for this thread - you point out some VERY important issues and give lots of good advice - advice that not only helps requesters BUT - VERY VERY much will help your designer!!!!!!

I couldn't agree with you more - to ALL REQUESTERS - READ the Sticky's and read all the advice given here!!!!! All of us who design will greatly appreciate it!

I encourage everyone who submits a request to indicate the date when they need the DISign (month and year okay if it is a ways out).

Quite a few requests show some impatience and it might be that the request is a rush.....but it might not!!
 
More and more I am finding people posting requests on a thread started by another DISer which should be posted for a specific DISigner.

If a DISigner volunteers to do a request for DISer1 and it is done with a positive response and no alterations, there is no reason to assume that the DISigner will return to the thread looking for DISer2 to post a request.

Best thing to do is to locate the DISigner's own thread......

And, as always, be sure you know that DISigner's rules!!
