Every year we drive down to Florida, every year I pack to much and I say, "Next year, I'm not bringing so much!" Every year I end up bringing the same amount of clothes!

I hate doing laundry on a normal day, let alone, doing laundry on vacation. I was just curious what all the other mom's do. I have 3 kids, ages, 7, 4, and 1.
There is also my dh, who is like another kid, always spills something on himself!

I have never done laundry any time we go on vacation, let alone Disney! But alas, this year we'll have to do some laundry as we are extending our vacation from Disneyland Jul 7-12 and then going to WDW Jul 12-19. I can't possibly take THAT many suitcases! SO we plan on hanging out by the pool the evening we arrive at the Beach Club and I'll do laundry while my 3 kids (2 kids and hubby) play in the pool.

Last WDW vacation, I did the laundry while Grandma watched my napping son. On our last, DL vacation, DH did the laundry while I watched our napping son.

I would love to get away with NOT doing laundry on vacation, but I have kids and they refuse to keep their clothes clean enough to wear for even a full day. I take two of the mesh laundry bags and sort whites/colors as they get dirty. Also, I take a gel stain stick as well as laundry soap with color bleach. It's also easier if you pack your own quarters -- laundry/dryer machines seem to eat those things like candy!

I had never done laundrey before our lst trip to DW in 2002. That trip I couldn't wait until we got home to wash everything ~ it was just too many dirty things with 5 of us. It was much easier to throw in a load or two every few days since on some days we would change before going out to dinner. I didn't go prepared to do laundrey, so I had to purchase the small packages of detergent there (expensive) so this trip in order to cut back on packing so many clothes (going for 10 days) and to save a little money, I will bring my own detergent and also bring a roll of quarters (the change machine was often empty). I found a small bottle of All detergent at Walgreens for $1.29 (enough to do 6 loads of laundrey); others have found laundrey detergent tablets to bring (no chance of leakage)

I did laundry last week at All Star Movies while kids and hubby played at the kiddie pool. Very convenient as the laundry was right there!!

I always do laundry once during our stay. I throw it in, then come back 30 minutes later. I always have to wait for it to finish, but I come back with my newly refilled mug, and that passes the time. :sunny:

I did laundry for the first time last year. The first year I didn't even know GF had a laundry and I sent everything out ot be laundered! Over $200 in cleaning. DH thinks I still over pack. I did it really early in the morning around 6 am and it was done by the time we were ready to leave for the parks. It was easy. This year we'll be there for over 2 weeks so I really will be doing laundry.

I did laundry, with 3 kids, it was a must. We were away from home a total of 13 days between drive time, WDW, and visiting relatives. We only spent 4 nights at the World, but I didn't want to show up at the relatives with tons of dirty laundry! Since we were only there a few days, I got up really early to to the wash while everyone else slept and the laundry room was empty. We aren't the types to be at the parks when they open, we would rather start the day later and stay well into the night. (We were there over Christmas, and MK was open until 11p.m) I brought some individual laundry soap packets so I didn't have to buy it there, but it still was a nice chunk of change to get it all washed and dried. I saved quarters for a few monts before the trip just for laundry!

We always do laundry 2 times on our vacation. One at around day 3 or 4 & the other the day before we go back home.

We do it when we go back to our room for our mid-day break this way we can be at the pool & keep checking the laundry.

I even bring detergent & dryer sheets from home.

Well, one time, I DH did the laundry, while I took, our DD to E-night. I found it very easy to do laundry at WDW, but DH might have a different opinion.

We usually do laundry, but just a few loads, halfway thru our trip. I just can't stand to have those sweaty, smelling clothes around. I have found it really easy, while kids are in the pool, during an afternoon break. I usually take a few sample sizes of detergent, or the laundry tabs, and some dryer sheets.

We do laundry daily, but we stay offsite so the washer is usually in the room. I just start a load before we go anywhere, and change it to the dryer as soon as we return. Somedays I do a couple of loads. It cuts down on packing, and we always have exactly what we need when we want to wear it. On vacation everything gets laid out or hung up so, there is no folding, and underware just gets thrown in the suitcase to grab as needed as we don't uses the dressers on vacation. DH helps and I don't even notice doing laundry on vacation, it just make life simpler for us!

There are three of us, we usually do one load every or at least every other day. That way you don't have to pack as much plus you don't have all that laundry to do when you get home. I know at All Star Movies the laundry is at the pool area so we would start a load while we took our daily swim and it was very convenient. We will be at Fort Wilderness camping this year so I don't know how convient the laundry room will be to our campsite.

I do all the laundry at home, but on vacation DH does it if we are staying in hotel rooms. If we are in a condo with washer & dryer, I throw in our dirty clothes every night, dry them first thing in the morning, and everyone gets dressed out of the dryer. Everything is a bit wrinkled, but hey-- it's vacation!

I usually do laundry on vacation (mainly because I hate dirty clothes piled up in a hotel room). Even if I don't plan to do laundry, I always bring a small container of laundry soap just in case a child vomits or has diarreah.

Yes. We usually stay for at least 10 days so we do laundry at least once and sometimes twice in a vacation. I pack powdered laundry detergent in ziplock snack or sandwich bags, a stain magnet and some dryer sheets. The laundry is near the pool in the value/moderate resorts and we usually swim every day so spening part of our pool time in the laundry room is not a big deal. The deluxe resorts are a bit harder, since the laudry rooms are inside.

I still pack too much!

On our last trip to WDW I did do laundry. We were there in February and had to pack jeans and shorts, short sleeve shirts and jackets. Just not enough room in the suit case because we really didn't know what we would need. Glad to have some of everything because the first four days of our trip was chilly. The last three the temp. got into the low 90's (some front came thru). The kids were at the pool and it was so easy to just throw a load in. I would suggest bringing your own laundry soap with you. Purex sells laundry tabs, something like the ones you use in your dishwasher . They come two in a pack. So easy to throw in your luggage and not worry about spilling out or leaking on your clothes. If you are going to take an afternoon break anyway, I say wash. It's also nice to come home from your trip with some clean clothes. ;)

I always do laundry at WDW.

My best suggestion is to buy a mesh pop up laundry basket at Wal Mart or discount store. It easily stores under the sink in a resort and keeps the dirty clothes out of the way. It folds up flat for easy storage in your suitcase.

I can't tell you how many women have said that they wished they had one when I was in the laundry room.

I do laundry on vacation and actually don't really mind it. It's time to myself and either I meet some other moms to talk to or go sit outside with a cool drink and a magazine. With DD's carseat and stroller we just can't be loaded down with too much luggage. If we're going for a week I'll pack about 5 changes of clothes each and do laundry once. That gives us enough for at least 1 change of clothes a day plus a few extras just in case.

For longer trips I do laundry - I try to plan is for our stay at the hotel and play in the pool day. So nice not lugging all those suitcases around. I bring my own detergent/dryer sheets to save $$.

I also sometimes do laundry the last evening or last morning we are there if we have a flight later in the day - that way I get home and have clean clothes than can be unpacked and put away instead of the post-vacation laundry pile. :teeth:

I seem to recall a laundry mat off site that washes, dries and folds. I hated doing laundry (once at WL and once at DL). It took so long and I couldn't leave because people take your clothes out if your not there and they want your washer or dryer. Next time I'm going to check out the laundry services outside WDW. I'll search and post it.
