I'am wondering if anyone know if its worth the extra cost for the meals to be added to a AAA package?Where at Disney can you use them?Would love to hear from anyone who has used them.

I haven't used them, but am hoping too. We currently have AAA discount for our rooms that is saving nearly $500 off our room costs. We were told that you cannot apply a package to a AAA discount and I don't think the meal plan will save us $500 to make up that difference (though maybe pretty close??). So at this point I am not willing to forfit my $500 savings and pay rack rate for the hotels as I would with a package. However if I am able to get any other code for the rooms that will allow for package add-ons I will most definitely add meals. I don't think I can beat feeding my family (2 adults, 2 kids) for $90 a day (cost of meal plan), doing it on my own.

We booked thru AAA, and added the Magic Your Way dining package to our WL stay. No problem adding it. As for cost benefit......I think we'll more than get our money's worth. Calc a sit down, counter service, and snack for 4 ech day (don't forget to include gratuity for the sit down meal) and the plan will pay for itself. I just hope we don't eat too much !

If you search on the dining board for MYW dining, you will find lots of info on the plan and links to lists of restaurants that participate.
On www.allearsnet.com also, there is a list of restaurants and more info on the plan

I feel this is only a benefit if you are going to maximize your dining options. If you plan to just eat wherever, I find it to be a waste of money.

If you are going to plan and book PS based on the restaurants you can use your meal options for, then it is more than worth the money.

I believe thats the difference between booking "through AAA" and booking With an AAA discount. If I'm not mistaken (and I very well may be) to book through AAA and get the package you are still paying rack rate for your room. Is that correct?

No - you can still get the AAA discount off the room portion of the package if you book through a AAA travel agency. Granted - this is subject to availability. Some room types and resorts might not be available at the discount. So book early to get the one you want.

If you add the dining onto a MYW package through Disney CRO, the rate will be rack unless you have a special discount (like from a postcard or email).

We are saving $356 with the AAA discount, plus we'll save a bunch with the dining plan. As others have stated, you have to look at the menus to see where the money spent on the plan will benefit you most.

Hope this helps...

I also was able to book through a great AAA agent and get package with dining plan with the AAA discount on my room portion. Best of both worlds with no codes available to me.
