Anyone else addicted to this show???? DH & I watch it every Friday night~yes we need a life~however I now have a problem that comes from this show.

Everytime I get dressed I wonder what they would say about my wardrobe?! All those Mickey Mouse t-shirts! I could hardly pick out an outfit for church last Sunday. Everything was too oversized, or too much print or too something.

Everytime I go shopping I can hear Stacy in my head. Look for more color. Find clothes that fit. Cashmere.........

I'm not sure this is a good thing. Do you think if I wrote them a letter and told them that because of their show I threw out all my clothes but can't afford new ones, they'd send me that $5000 Visa card????:hyper:

LOVE this show. We watch it every Friday night as well. Pembo, can't you hear Stacey "OMG, she's lookin at another shirt with ears on it, that's it, we're going in." or "OMG, she's in the Disney Store and what's worse, she's at the sales rack, let's go get her." Stacey looks like the actress that used to play Julia on As The World Turns, anybody else think so?

Oh and guess what? It's Friday!!!!!:sunny:

I love this show!!!! I told DH that I might start wearing my bumming around the house clothes out so that someone will nominate me to be on the show ;). Right now I have on a lovely outfit that would qualify in an instant - jeans with many holes, a Pooh t-shirt, one of DH's flannel shirts and 3 pairs of socks (it's cold here).

I bought some pants the other day and I kept hearing a little voice whispering "not the tapered ones - get a wider leg - it creates a better line".

I'm also addicted to this show! I used to look forward to going out on Friday nights... now I look forward to staying in with my glass of wine watching WNTW! :p

I wonder what happened to the guy from the first season, though? The one with the long hair? I liked him. :(

I love this show! I'm so glad they're showing it regularly!

CheshireVal, I also miss Wayne Scot Lukas, the Season I male host. :( I mean, I don't mind the new guy (Clinton), but I preferred Wayne...apparently he didn't exactly leave the show voluntarily...

There are times when I feel like pulling out really, really ugly clothes and wearing them for a week or two, and getting friends to nominate me. $5000 can do a lot!!!

I love this show!

I keep wondering what on earth they'd do with all my Disney clothing. :earseek: "Step AWAY from the mouse, and nobody will get hurt..." :teeth:

But then again, they don't like to take on the challenge of a gal my size, so I guess I'm safe. :p

Minnie - what happened to Wayne? I liked him a lot...with his Fabio-lookin' self... ;)

The first season's host now works for Justin Timberlake.... saw him on some VH1 show saying that he even picks out his underwear....so.. did he get fired or leave for this job??

I don't like it as well as the orginal What Not to Wear on BBC America. Triny and Suzanna are great~~I bought their book before our cruise last year. Has anyone seen it?! If not, I highly recommend it!! :D

I too love What Not To Wear. I like the BBC version better than the American version. My sister turned me onto it a couple of months ago. So what did I do? I watched a weekend marathon and emptied my closet! I've not been able to replenish it as I would like to, but I've bought a few up to date things.

I love this show too; I also like Wayne, but I didn't get his hair...it seemed like something they would force a guest to cut off. Clinton is a little more relaxed and easy going though, and funny. I just love all the shows on TLC.

Stacy DOES like like Julia on ATWT....good call!

:D

Cookie and others- Wayne already worked for Justin Timberlake, and I think he's also worked for Janet Jackson. But doing fashion for celebrities is really a day-to-day thing, so you work a lot some days, not at all on others, so he was able to do the show.
Based on what I read at the official TLC WNTW message boards (where Wayne posted quire regularly when he hosted the show- he seemed like a really nice guy), as well as another message board once he left the show (where he also posted, and unfortunately I lost the link :(), he appears that he was "asked to leave" the show. I think some viewers thought he was too nasty, and that he should have dressed better himself. Personally, I think most of the really hard-core WNTW fans loved him, including me!

Oh, Wayne has cut his hair since last season's WNTW...it was featured on TLC's official site this past summer, before he "left" the show. I thought it looked good, but I actually missed the long hair a lot.

For the record, between both seasons, they've had guests of all shapes and sizes. I like that! The motto seems to be that ANYONE can look good. I agree!

Love this show! I've begged everybody I know to nominate me, but I'd be a little (a LOT) scared of the 360 degree mirror. Yikes!

Love, Love, Love this show! :teeth: I too hear their voices now when I'm getting dressed and love the fact that they dress men and women in every shape and size. I've gotten so many tips. The last time we were shopping DH said "if you were on WNTW they would be saying OMG she's looking at purses and shoes again! She's already got plenty of those - what is she going to wear." What can I say I love purses and I love shoes! :teeth: Just a wonderful show and I have to say Clinton is growing on me. I really missed Wayne at first but I have grown to like Clinton and his personal fashion is much better than Wayne's I think. Speaking of "mean" on the show. Am I the only one who thinks that Carmandy is kind of mean? She is SO critical of people's makeup choices, eyebrows, etc. and the average person is NOT a makeup artist and does the best they can. Just something I've noticed recently as she sometimes seems just disgusted by things about people.

I love this show, watching it right now!! I like the BBC version too. I also her Stacy and Clinton in my head all the time, while getting dressed. I'll say to dh, "boy, Clinton and Stacy would hate this outfit" That said, I'd love to take them shopping with me, and have Carmindy do my makeup (as long as she's nice LOL).

I also think she's a little mean. A few weeks ago she really went on about that biker guy who had a lot of hair where it shouldn't be. Maybe she should get some recommendations about her own hair style because IMO it's a little dated, very caddy I know.

Yeah, I think Carmindy is a bit mean sometimes too. And very condescending to most of the people she works with. As for her hair, I don't mind the style itself but it looks bad on her. Her hair is WAY too thin to be worn that long, and I'd tell her so myself if I ever ran into her. :p

Another WNTW addict here! :)

I thought Wayne was a bit too mean; I think Clinton's critcism is a bit easier to swallow because it's delivered in a nicer tone and seems to be more constructive. But Wayne was usualy right about what he said too.

It's funny, I rarely like what Stacy wears herself - I know they are in style in NY, but you'll never catch me wearing that red ruffled blouse. But she and Clinton always give good advice.

I'd love to have $5000 to replace my wardrobe, but what I would REALLY love is to go shopping with them to have them tell me the kind of clothes that would really flatter me. For that kind of advice, i'd be perfectly OK with spending my own money.
