T'land Speedway vs Test Track for a 7yr old?

Two totally different rides. My DS6 loves the Speedway - I think most kids find it fascinating to "drive" a car by themselves. He'll probably need to ride with someone though. Test Track is a thrill ride - goes really fast. So, if he/she likes that kind of ride, they will be fine. They might also find it pretty cool to design their own car.

Speedway is where he can actually drive the car. You'll probably have to control the gas pedal but Speedway was always a must-do when our DDs were young.

Test Track is a fun experience but he'll just be a passenger along for the ride rather than being an actual "driver."

My son would have chosen Test Track as a 7 year old if he'd had to pick one.

Another vote for both. My girls love both the Speedway and TT (they can't get enough of TT), luckily they are both tall enough so that DH and I can wait for them until they are off the speedway since they can reach the gas peddle (we usually sit in the fan section and watch them leave and come in). I am also with the PP that asked why not do both since they are in 2 different parks .

You can if you are a super skinny family. For us we would be too squished. We have one skinny, one 3 year old and one pooh sized. I would plan on 2 separate cars.

For the OP, do both! Speedway is in Magic Kingdom while Test Track is in Epcot. Ride the Speedway early in the morning or late at night to avoid the line (it moves rather slow). I think with a 7 year old there are other rides that warrant a FP+ reservation more than the Speedway.

~Test Track is an amazing E ticket attraction and Tomorrowland Speedway is your run of the mill amusement park attraction but kids *love* this. So, just do both -- and ride Test Track in the day & at night. For me, it's a totally different experience at night when the track is lit! Have fun!

DD(7) would pick Test Track (but unfortunately with FP+ tiering - our FP is now going to be limited to Soarin, so it will be hit and miss whether we even get to ride Test Track depending on the Standby line). Test Track is a headliner. I wouldn't call Tomorrowland Speedway a headliner. It is your old fashioned-car around a guided track. I loved that as a kid, DD likes it, but it wouldn't make her favorites list. Also, depending on the car you get- they can be really slow and hard to get moving. Some work much better than others. We got a total dud one time and it died in the middle of the track and would not start again, and a CM had to come mess with the engine to get us moving again. DD will ride the equivilant at DL (Autopia) because it is a regular paper FP there. It was not a FP ride at WDW, until FP+, so until recently it was standby or nothing. Typcially at WDW, the line can be really long and some trips we totally skip it because she doesn't deem it worth the wait of the line. She also doesn't deem it worth burning a FP+ on. It is not a must do for us. To her it is fun, but no big deal if she skips it.

Both! My girls (9 and 11) love Test Track. It was closed last year when we went so it was the first thing we had to do this trip! They loved designing their own cars and there are several arcade style games you can play with "your" car on the way out. Huge hit! The speedway is a perpetual favorite---we had to make a special trip back to MK at RD on our departure day this trip just to ride it one last time because my (very tiny) 11 year old was finally tall enough to reach the gas pedal and drive it all by herself so she just had to do it one last time!
