I would like some opinions on which water park would be better suited for a 4 year-old. Is either one more geared for younger kids?

Both have good kiddy sections, but they are both different.

BB is called Tikes peak and it is to the right, one way in one out so the kid can't get out as easy. I find it better for younger kids and ones who don't want to do slides by themselves or get water in their face. It has a section near the top with 4 little slides that a small parent can ride with the child, along with a few the children can ride alone. There also is a racing slide parents can go on with the children. There is jumping water and a zero entery pool with foalting icey like guys the kids can play on. There is a sand area too, but not near the water. Also kids can go on the lazy river and the wave pool is not as intense so they can play in it with out getting knocked over. Infact the area to the right is more like bopping in the waves. There is also a good family raft ride a 4 year old should be able to go on. (my DD was under 3 and she was a little too young for it then.)

TL has a kiddy area too, along with one child water slide near the wave pool. It is to the far side of the park. There are a few boats and such to play in near the wave pool in the overflow area. We found it to be more splashy and DD doesn't appriate that so while she had a good time, she liked BB better. Also all the slides she had to do herself (and the ones I could do with her HURT when you hit the bottom, so I don't recomend it.) It is fun, if your 4 year old is advanterous and like the splashy water thing he should be fine at TL. He can also ride the lazy river there too.

Good luck, both are a ton of fun with kids. :cheer2: Hope this helps.

We went there when our 2 DDs were 3 and 5 and they both much preferred BB. They were scared of the tidal wave (noise and sight!) at TL, and just loved the rides much more at BB.

Definatly Blizzard Beach.

We found TL a NIGHTMARE with our toddler. The wave pool is too intense and it knocks the kiddies over, even right at the edge. The kids area is confusing and its sooooo easy to lose sight of them. In fact the whole park is very "samey" in its theming and quite disorientating. Very easy for little ones to only move a couple of paces and be completely hidden from sight....not great with all that water about.

My DD got badly scraped on the slides at TL as well, plus their were snakes in the lazy river (lots of foliage hanging down).

DEFINATELY, 100% BB...its more open and easier to keep and eye on little ones here. Oh, and dont get me wrong TL is a GREAT park, but much more suitable for older kids and adults. If you have pre schoolers that are confident swimmers, then TL may also be fine, but ours are both nervous around water and hated it.

We saw more snakes (with one in the lazy river) at BB than at TL. BB has the 'Ski Patrol' area, with tube slides that a 4 yr old could handle.
