Our plan:
D1: 9:30pm MCO arrival
D2: Epcot
D3: sleep in, Typhoon lagoon 10am-2pm, MNSSHP
D4: sleep in, AK
D5: HS
D6: MK

Is day 3 too much? DH wants to do TL and skip the party, I want to do the opposite. if we do both we would we even enjoy the party? Or would we be to exhausted? Has anyone done it? Our kids are 5&8.

We usually do a park to midday break on party nights and have never had a problem. Whether it was with an 18 month old, 4 year old, etc. This has always been our schedule when we go and we never have an issue with our kids being exhausted. I would plan on being back at the hotel by 1:00, getting a nap if necessary, but in our case, our kids are resilient about "Disney hours" which are far different from their regular schedule. We almost always do two parties in one week and we always have park time in the morning hours. I'm doing the same for this year (we'll have kids that are 3, 5, 8, 9, 13 in our group and none of us have a single worry about any of them).

For me, I find the water parks surprisingly exhausting. Maybe it's climbing all those stairs, standing in line in the sun, the heat/humidity I'm not used to . . . Or a combination of all of that. I'd never combine a water park day with such a late night - I'd be pooped at 9:00 and ready to pack it in for the day.

I am always SO exhausted after the water parks. Like PP said, I think it's all of those things mixed..especially the part about just sitting straight in the sun for hours. There's no way that I would last for MNSSHP. Personally, I'd say too much.

I agree with other posters. Water parks or anything in direct sun, especially the humid sun drains you. 8 yr old mighhhht be able to do it but I doubt the 5 yr old will. Weve learned a nice early lunch with maybe a small activity and nap is best way to be fully energized for party. Our Sunday party day we're doing brunch at Raglan, napping , and then get to party leisurely sometime between 4-5. We rushed a couple of years ago to be there right at 4 to get our money's worth but we were toast by 2nd parade.

I think you can do TL but only if you're there for rope drop and then leave around lunch time to nap/rest before the party.

I would go to MK for the morning the same day you are going to MNSSHP. I would switch the last day to another park and go to TL on that day you switched. That way you could stay there for as long as you wanted and then if you still feel like it you could go to MK again that night.

I actually think a water park is a great combination with an MNSSHP. They only take a few hours, and you're not using a park day admission when you already paid for the party. Try to be at the water park as early as possible and leave early enough so that you're not exhausted.

We are 3 adults and our plan is to sleep in on the day of MNSSHP and have a pool/resort day. I have found out the hard way that MNSSHP can be crowded, trying and tiring, so this trip my goal is to be well rested so I can stay for the whole party. We will also have a sleep in day the day after.

Looks great to me. The whole schedule looks good. I would suggest a short nap between TL and MNSSHP. Even though you can arrive at 4pm for the MNSSHP, nothing party related starts until 7pm. You can take your time after 2pm and just make sure you arrive before 7pm when the fun starts.

We have combined TL and MNSSHP several times. Since we get there at opening, we find lounge chairs in the shade, and do the slides with no wait before it gets too hot and crowded. Then lounge in our shady chairs, or float the lazy river. It makes a fun, relaxing day for us. Another option is to do the water park the day after MNSSHP. It allows for sleeping in after a late night without missing "rope drop" as you would at one of the parks. We have done that, also.

I disagree with most here. I would not do one of the four main theme parks on the morning of a party day. I personally find it to be a waste of a park ticket.

A waterpark could be doable if you get there early and go back to the resort and relax/nap before heading to the party.

Another option would be no park/waterpark at all that day: go to Disney Springs, swim at your resort, go have a meal at a resort you would couldn't normally fit in to your schedule, etc.

We go to TL on our MNSSHP days, we find it is a great combination. No one says that you have to go-go-go at the water park, we laze around the river, hang in the wave pool, do a few slides and have a leisurely lunch. We wear hats for most of the day and ensure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen. We get there for open and leave between one and two.
