I am going to take a moment to be serious (but just for a moment;)).

First, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Hope your day is filled with happiness and joy. Here's also hoping for a happy, healthy 2010 :drinking1

Next, I want to thank each and every one of you for making this thread such a wonderful place to come to. You all are THE BEST. It is so great to meet people ( in person, on phone or in writing) who are so wonderful. You truly know the meaning of real friendship. We kid around, we laugh, we cry, and we support. And in the end, restore faith in humanity that sometimes seems lost in today's world. I read in an email once that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. I really hope y'all are in it for a lifetime.
Thanks again Kitty for starting such a great thread and getting together some of the nicest people around. :grouphug:

D&D...that's a great idea for the thread name!

Following the serious note, I am so thankful to once again share the holidays with such a fantastic group of women. I honestly had no idea that a single thread could bloom into such a source of happiness and love. Thank you everyone for being part of the ride and every day I am just amazed how blessed I am to have found each and every one of you. Thank you for sharing your lives, your families, your time. I look forward to another thread, another year to make happy memories and watching our friendships grow.

that should be in the 12 days of Christmas....5 hours to get home! 4-ty minutes to find a parking space, 3 tries to get the tree straight, two many presents to wrap and a partridge in a pear tree!

FB has so many things I dont know about....

(ladies, while I love this chatter we have, we're already on page 240! we're going to have to start the new thread soon)

Oh, did I kill us?
:thumbsup2

Ooh, I like that!

Or, how about merging 2 ideas...

TKers six feet under and still killin' time.

I wasn't sure until I saw this one. I like it. :)

We used to get an orange in our stocking. We lived in So Cal..could get oranges anytime. BUT my mom had lived in NY as a kid oranges were rare/ expensive in winter.
It snowed today. just the regular amount..melted as it hit the ground. ;)

Merry Christmas everyone!

PERFECT!!!! I vote for this one!

I'd like to add my thoughts on this group. When we started, we were strangers, but we came together to support and encourage one another. As time passed, our friendships grew. Some folks have come and gone over the years, and some of us have been here from (or close to) the beginning. Some of us have met, some haven't. We come from all over the country, from different walks of life, our ages span several decades. But what ties us together is twofold: our love of Disney, and our love for each other. You guys have been there for me through some pretty dark times, but you've lifted me up with your kindness and friendship. We've cried together, laughed together, prayed together, and even, in some cases, eaten chocolate (or Mickey bars) together. You all know me better than most of the people in my "real life". I know I will always cherish the special friends I have here.

Merry Christmas my friends!:santa:

Afternoon all:

Just got back from the mail and had a great laugh...all my cards today were from Tkers. Thank so much Pike, M&N, D&D, JO & Wendy!

Have a great time w/ that "Christmas cheer" stuff. :santa:

I vote for a TKer meet in Canada - at Ev's house!!!! You just know we'd have wine!!!
10.gif

OK might want to make it in the summer so we can hang at the pool...I also make a mean Cosmo & Margarita!! Niagara Falls would also be a good spot.

I'd love to go on a pizza testing trip! Sounds delicious!!!!
We ordered pizza in Bulgaria when we adopted oldest DS. We went with our host couple and they ordered CORN and goat cheese on the pizza stating that is how it is done there. :crazy2:Great people, but not so great pizza.

I love Britain where they put Tuna on pizza...when I commented they thought WE were weird 'cause we didn't!!

Evening.

I am in the same boat as whgrn. The kids only go to school for 21/2 hours tomorrow. And then the real insanity starts. I hope I make it.

Mine have been home since Friday...and yes I'm going INSANE!!!

I will quantify that since my birthday is close to Christmas, my 17th birthday my parents got me a car for a birthday/holiday present. I only realized later it was more a present for them...I didn't have to borrow the car and I could be sent out on errands all the time. Also, I was heading to college and there was no way they were going to drive me back and forth to school all the time.

Gotta love all those Birthday/Christmas gifts!! Had a few of those over the years.

So this guy walks into a pet store looking for a really cool gift for his girlfriend. As he is looking around he sees this parrot with a little Santa hat on his head and thinks that is pretty neat. He walks closer and sees a little sign stating that the parrot's name is Chet. As he continues to check out the parrot a sales clerk walks over and says that Chet is the coolest parrot ever. You see, if you hold a flame underneath his left foot he sings Jingle Bells. The clerk whips out a lighter and puts a flame under the bird's left foot. The parrot starts squawking out "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way.....The clerk removers the flame and then tells the guy that if you hold a flame under the parrot's right foot he sings Winter Wonderland. The clerk moves the lighter to the bird's right foot, gets the flame going and soon the parrot starts to sing "Sleigh Bells ring are you listening. In the lane snow is glistening......" the clerk removes the flame and looks at the guy and says "Isn't that cool?!" The guy shakes his head yes and asks the clerk "What happens if you put the flame under his butt?". The clerk shrugs his shoulders and says "I've never done that before" takes the lighter and flicks a flame under the bird's butt. No sooner does the warmth of the flame hit the bird when he starts to sing "Chet's nuts roasting on an open fire....".

Merry Christmas!

:rotfl2: Very Nice!

In case anyone is interested here's the link to track Santa tomorrow.

The kids really enjoy doing this.

Howdy ladies!
I am beginning to feel almost normal again. DH finally went back to work yesterday which was a good thing before we ended up calling it quits on our marriage. We almost came to blows on DS's birthday because I did not get up while everyone else was sleeping and make the cake when DH "expected" it. Then we started talking money which never goes well. I am usually pretty easy going but he has really been pushing his luck! Needless to say we must have reached our limit on how many days we can spend together before we both need some space. I am happy with him back at work even if I am still doing laundry, paying bills and listening to fighting kids. I did get all my wrapping done today! Yippee!!!
I have been uploading pictures to my computer but I really don't want to start on a trip report until I get my Photopass pictures together. Still editing on that cause their website is giving me fits. I do have one picture to post to document the brief visit I had with M&N. M&N looks very good but I look like crap cause the Florida weather really did not agree with my hair AND my camera shoots wide angle which is never good when you are already wide to begin with. I have since instructed my DD to NEVER take photos of me again from a sitting position. I did manage to crop off the WIDEST part! Here's proof that I did meet one TKer. (M&N, you were so sweet and it was such a treat to meet you, your mom, and friends.)
Momascamera324-1.jpg

As for the other TKers that I missed meeting.... Pikester and D&D, I am so sorry that it did not work out. I really was looking forward to it. Between being all new at finding our way around WDW, the crazy weather and a randomly changing itinerary my main goals were to keep everyone happy and me not lose my sanity in the process! Unfortunately, that left me little free time to meet up. It was shear luck that DD and I were by ourselves when M&N called. Otherwise, I might have missed her too! Here's hoping we get another chance someday! D&D, still trying to figure out why my phone did not ring. :confused3 I am a product of the dark ages and I am totally electronically challenged so I have never even set up my phone for messages. Looks like some of our other TKers had fun meeting up!

As for our WDW trip.... I hope ya'll will let me still hang around even if we still love Disneyland best. It appears to be a unanimous vote among my family. We enjoyed WDW some but we really missed DL and came home feeling like we had missed our portion of magic. So looks like our next trip will be back to California....probably in 2011.

Here's a few thread names to toss in:
Tkers: Six Shooters Club.... still shootin threads down left and right! or add the Never met a thread we couldn't make dead or Lean, Mean, Thread Killing Machines.
Tkers: Still killin threads but we haven't been deep sixed yet!
Tkers: Our sixth senses still at work.

Oh yeah! Gotta throw this in.... LITC, Walter looks so precious in his Christmas outfit! He looks like a really happy baby!

Glad to hear you had a good time, and Marie, I had to do a TRIPLE take on the photo as you look ALOT like my momma does (or did when she was a tad bit younger-not that she is old or anything) it was pretty cool!!

Awwww.. this honestly made me cry you all are the best. I think of you every day even though I just cant get on here as often as I used to. I miss the talking.

Merry CHRISTmas everyone.
Love, Stacie Frank and baby Walter

Evening. Spent the day cooking and baking again. Ok, DD did the baking but I made tons of deviled eggs and I may have to make more tomorrow. Seems as though some are missing.

Ev, Niagara Falls isn't too far from us. We haven't been there in years....not since my BIL moved to Florida about 5 years ago. Oh, and I can't believe my card made it there in time. I thought I had mailed it too late.

D&DDisney, I hear you about being able to pull off a solo trip. I'm taking one in 2011 but I don't think I'll get away with another one. The kids would kill me or DH would. But since we both have kids, I think your idea may be perfect.

Pikester, I've seen that joke before but it wasn't as Dis friendly. :rolleyes1

I'd also like to share my thoughts about the group of friends I have found here.

I want to thank you all for being so welcoming way back when. From the first word I posted in this thread, I knew there was no looking back. I just knew I found a place to fit in. I want to thank you all for standing by me and my big mouth when I just have to say what is on my mind. I know it couldn't have been easy for any of you and for that I am grateful.

Each one of you have given me the strength to make it through the hardest of times. I know where to turn when I have a problem, if I need to laugh, if I just want to chit chat. You have welcomed my family into your families with open arms.....how could I ever ask for more from a group of "imaginary" friends.

May you all have a Merry Christmas.

Michele

Merry
Christmas

I hope everyone has a healthy & happy Christmas with all their Family & Friends.

All the Best
Love Ev & family

:rotfl2:

We got a dusting of snow last night. Closest to a white Christmas we'll see. :santa:
The airbase is having a special Santa "mission" as their letters on the planes are HO (HO HO HO). They are equipped with naughty and nice detectors and a sleeping detector. ;) An F-22 Raptor is going to be wingman. Everyone have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! Its a gorgeous sunny day here, despite the cold. We'll have no worries getting to Mass tonight, unlike in years past.

My sister has to work until early this afternoon, and hopefully she'll be able to join us for both Church and for family dinner afterward.

My ham is in the oven right now. I'm trying to decide whether to glaze it or not. While I like the look of a glaze, I'm not too thrilled with the taste. I have an hour to mull it over!

I'm watching the ABC family holiday classics marathon, and it astounds me that although I've probably seen it all over 100 times over the years, it still fills me with happiness and Christmas cheer.

DL55...the Santa mission sounds awesome! I love those kind of things.

Update: I decided to go for the glaze. The ham just didn't look right without it. Maybe that's why glaze was invented!

May you all be blessed with much happiness and love today and always. I'll be online during the day, searching for ham help!

Happy Christmas Eve everybody! I don't have the fancy smilies that many of you do (I lost the link when I switched Web browsers) but the sentiment is certainly the same!

I had a call from my sister last night about 10pm (5 am her time). She couldn't sleep, so she called me. :) that's what I do when *I* can't sleep--call her!:lmao: I had emailed her a copy of my "The Christmas Letter I SHOULD Have Sent" and she wanted me to read it to her since she wasn't near her computer. first I read her the letters from my cousins. They are all pod people, with perfect children and perfect lives. totally foreign to me! MY letter was the TRUTH about my life and my kids. It was all I could do to read it, we were both laughing so hard we cried and I ended up with a stomach ache! I don't think I've laughed that hard in years. I posted the letter in my blog (link is in my siggie) if any of you would like to read it. I did email the link to D&D and JOCA since I knew they would totally "get it". Some of the comments I've gotten back have been hilarious. My Dad thinks I should send it to my cousins, but they just wouldn't understand.

DS was acting up so badly this morning with his father that they threatened to bring him back here. I said NO WAY! I told him if he couldn't behave well enough to spend Christmas Eve with his father, then he was ruining my day, and I would ruin his Christmas--as in, NO PRESENTS! Haven't heard a peep from any of them since!

I have 30 minutes to relax before it's time to get dressed for church (have to be there at 3:15 to warm up for my solo and other singing) Then I'll come home to my nice, peaceful Christmas Eve dinner--a roast beef sandwich, YUM! The kids are due home about 8:15, and know they have to go to bed early so Santa can come. I've already put everything else under the tree (not that there's much...), so all that's left is the stockings and the bags from Santa. Plus I get to eat Santa's cookies and drink his milk for my bedtime snack. Yay!

In case I don't get back on here later, I want to wish you all a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have a wonderful day with your families, and I look forward to hearing lots of fun stories!

:hug::love::santa:

:santa: Hi everyone. To those who are traveling please be careful. Stef and her family are coming for supper. I made lasagna andd she is bringing the salad and garlic toast. I actually made an apple pie for dessert. It has been a long time since they have been over for Christmas Eve. We would usually go down to my mom's. Christmas dinner would at 12:00 sharp. It is a sad day :sad1:. I hope that tommorrow will be better.

Have a blessed Christmas and a safe New Year.
