Weather is back to normal. DH will be getting on the roof when he gets back from golf. Priorities you know.
I'm in a happier mood now that my Christmas cards are done. I didn't join in the TK card exchange because I really dislike sending them. I feel I must put in a personal note and I never can think of anything interesting to say. I also thought you all probably have enough cards to send already. I'm fine with a greeting on the thread.
We are having family time tomorrow if I have to tie them to the house. Everyone wants cut out cookies so they are going to help.

Good morning! It's only 12 degrees so far here today and it's suppose to be windy.

Sukie is picking me up at 6:30AM so we can go do some Christmas shopping. Have to find a specific gift for my MIL that will be from my FIL. Hopefully I can find it (Fingers crossed for me finding it please).

I've started getting all my notes together and pictures cropped so I can start working on my Trip Report. I finally figured out that I'm going through the Disney Blues right now and that is why I just can't seem to get off my duff and write.

I'm already starting to plan another trip. I think we may wait until 2011 and I want to try Universal. I'm not sure what time of year we want to go though. Actually, both DH and I are clear on when we want to go but it's just that we do not want to take the kids out of school anymore so that "time" is off limits to us now. This Disney trip was the last time we are allowing the kids to miss school in order to go. From here on out it would be too hard for DS12 to miss school and be able to make everything up.

12 degrees! Too cold for me We are planning to go to WDW in 2011 also! We are thinking May/ June.
Roof has been fixed and all the baking has been done. Now we just need to decorate indoors.

DL55...glad to hear that DH has priorities, but the roof still was taken care of!

Pikester...I'm behind on your trip report, but I promise that I'll get there soon. I just got my Photopass pics and it was so much fun to look at! But goodness, am I stuggling with the idea of no trip anytime in the immediate future.

Does anyone have HGTV channel? They had a new special last night on Holiday decorations at Disney...it'll be on again tomorrow night. It was really good and a good Disney fix!

I just got back from Kingston...my friend came up last Thursday night. He arrived amidst crazy sideways snow! Today we left the house and drove 40 minutes "over the mountain" to attend this once-a-year doll sale. These are collector dolls (go to www.tonnerdirect.com) so anytime you can get a good price on them is worth it. But these doll people are C-R-A-Z-Y! There's an envelope on the factory's door, numbers to fall in line. We got there at 8:15 and all the numbers were already gone! We had to wait for someone to help us...we were numbers 102 and 103! Some people had been there since before 6am...and the sale didn't start until 10!

We got on line a little before 10 and others waiting were telling me horror stories about sales past. Stories like people ripping dolls out of other people's hands, or taking items out of their shopping bags. Or women making human blocking walls around sale tables so no one could get any dolls. INSANE!

We were let in and my friend and I split up and literally ran. We had been given black garbage bags by a kind shopper, who suggested we needed them. Literally 10 minutes later, my bag was full. I managed to locate my friend and he had already filled his bag and put it in a "holding crate" at the back of the store...I found a spot against the wall and watched over our loot while he ran around and grabbed other stuff.

In the end, I spent entirely too much. I had intended to get two dolls and I ended up with seven! I got two Scarlett O'Haras, Rhett Butler, Will from Pirates of the Caribbean, Bellatrix LeStrange from Harry Potter, and two dolls from Alice in Wonderland. They're wonderful!

(BF is trying to understand desperately but is giving me space since I'm in a really good mood and nothing brings me down more than him nagging me about money. Smart boy!)

D&D...I'm so excited for you and the family! And so cool that you get to meet Marie and Bopsmom! Don't forget to take pictures!

Magikitty - That doll sales sounds vicious! Glad you were both able to get what you wanted though. So what that you ended up with 7. It's a harmless habit. There are worse things you could be spending your money on. Plus, dolls are so adorable and bring lots of joy.
I am anxiously awaiting your pics from WDW and the Phils.

Pikester - Brrrr to your temps now. Ours have gone up to 30s today. Its like a heat wave after those below zero numbers.
Can't wait to read your trip report.

The temps while we were there were AWESOME! The first two days I wore capri pants(temps were low 70's), 3 days I wore shorts(temps were upper 70's to low 80's) and then the cool damp rainy weather came so I wore pants for 2 days(temps were upper 50's). I packed more then we needed but since we drove it wasn't a problem. The kids each had a hooded sweatshirt and a fleece jacket. Kept them warm when we stopped along the way but gave them a choice of jackets once we were down there. If it got cold while we were down there they just layered up. I also brought those stretchy knit gloves which we never needed thank goodness but we did need them last year when we went during this time so it was nice to have them. I checked the weather for next week and it's showing low 70's which for me is capris or pants.

I love Pop! We let our DS12 have a little more freedom this year. He was allowed to walk to the food court by himself or check out the store. We just made sure he had his room key with him. It wasn't really busy until in the evenings when everyone was back from the parks. The food court got pretty crowded. Even then, the lines to check out weren't bad. Not sure how busy it will be for you. The one thing that bothered me at Pop was the smoker in the room beside us. How did I know he smoked? Well he did his smoking not in the designated smoking areas but leaning on the railing right outside his room. He would also put his butts out on the floor right there leaving long black marks across the floor. Atleast he picked up his butts after he put them out. No offence to smokers, the ones that follow the rules anyways. Loved the ones too that would smoke their cigerette on the way to the smoking area or finish it on the way to their room and throw the butt in the bushes.

DH and I are hoping to go back, just us two, in 5 years to celebrate our 20 year Anniversary. In the meantime, we want to check out Universal with the kids in 2011(I think I mentioned it above).

Just wanted to add my 2 cents about Pop. The last time we stayed there it was over T-day week. I did not find it to be "crowded" at all. We never had a problem finding a seat in the food court. Nor were the lines at the cashiers more than 3 deep. And even then, we waited no more than a few minutes.

The buses were busy in the early morning and late at night. They always are no matter where we stayed. But at the times we decided to head back to the hotel in the middle of the day, we had our choice of seats.

As for clothes to pack, we happened to be there during a cool week. The kids and DH still swam since the pools are heated but not me. I prefer it to be very warm to swim. Mornings and evenings were on the very cool side. I found most days, we would wear layers.....tshirts, jeans, hoodies, and sometimes a jacket. But thin jackets and not our normal NE PA winter coats. We did take stretch gloves as well. Keeping our hands warm helped a lot.

Good morning and happy Sunday ladies! I am so glad my friend took the bus back to Maryland last night because it is nasty out there today! It was supposed to start this afternoon, snow and sleet and generally yucky weather. Well, its started early and just wet snow at the moment. While beautiful, its terrible to drive in...

D&D! After the kind of weather you've been having in your area, I'm sure WDW will be downright balmy! We were there a few Decembers ago, and the only time we really had to bundle was during the Christmas party--but it gave me great excuses to buy the special sweatshirts they sell.

Bopsmom...are you ready yet? And Marie too? Its going to be so wonderful!

As for pics...I don't have many from the Phils, as I gave my camera to my Aunt who didn't have one...but here are a few I did take!

Pikester Yep, that's me hogging the middle of the bed. My lavender shirt looks blue next to that purple wall.

Temperature is in the 50s now (30s when I walk the dog). Everything back to normal.
Once everyone is back from their trips I'll be all day.

I know...I know... I shouldn't be stressing about the weather. It will be balmy for me. I'm starting to get more excited regardless of the weather.
DH and I did a quicky trip to POR last year. Weather was sooooo warm. 80s both days. Then, we were stranded at WDW an extra day cuz of a snow storm back home. What a shame.

While I'm at it....

You know, I cannot even figure out how many stores are in MOA...its an entire complex. Tons of restaurants, the science center, concert venues, ice rinks...you name it its there! I don't think I've been around the entire thing yet. They do have a golf cart-type shuttle service around the mall. And for some reason, there's a marching band going around in the afternoons.

They do have this really cool thing in the indoor parking lots. There are colored lights above each space. If the space it open, its green; red if its occupied. So you can see in the distance if there's a space available.

Aww...thanks. I find my BF very handsome. He's starting to lose his hair, and always complains about it. So for his stocking stuffer I got him some spray Rogaine. We both like his hair very much!
