TKers Take the Fifth!

HI Bopsmom...love the color to the root part! :lmao:

Have any of you seen the closed thread about what you wear to work?

No I haven't. What is the link?
I know that our district has some funky ideas about what subs should wear-hose and heels :rotfl: no friggin' way. I haven't worn pantyhose to work since the 80's and I tossed my 4 inch heels away at that time too. Daily wear ruined my feet (just like my mamma said they would)

I was editing my last post because I couldn't get multi to work-the site locked up for a strange reason.

Just between us TKers...what Racer said wasn't this bad and I didn't see any of these get banned.

I must have gotten points...my trip ticker is just an x!

Good evening ladies. Man has it been a day! I got up bright and early at 6:00 to make my ADR for the day. Got us Crystal Palace for Dec. 8 no problem. Laid back down for a whole 30 minutes and woke up to the most horrible dream that my DD was trapped by some crazy guy and she was calling me and I could not get to her. I was in such a panic! Some way to start the day. :sad1: I am much better now but I think next time I will just stay awake. Anyway, got my bills paid today, balanced my checkbook, cleaned out DD's aquarium, washed the dishes and washed some clothes. I got more done today than I have in quite a while. It's about time I snap out of my lazy spell. Tomorrow I am going to tackle the kitty litter box!

Pikester, thanks for the positive review of Garden Grill. It is not listed on the menu at the moment but I am hoping they still have their catfish. I have heard many good reviews about it. Here's hoping it's their "sustainable fish of the day". I will be sure to ask to be seated on the lower level. Thanks for the tip! Thanks for reassuring me that we won't be seated at 2 tables. I figure I will just hold out for one table and refuse to leave. Surely they will give us a single table eventually just to get us out of there.
Poor DS. :sad1: I am glad he didn't stay upset too long.
Will you be in MK on the 6th? Or is that just your departure day? I know we don't make it to the park on our last day but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask just in case we had an opening to say hi to each other.
OMG! That is horrible about the child getting bitten by a snake. I suppose there is so much water in Florida it is next to impossible to get rid of all of them. I am so glad the little boy is okay. I have also read warnings about watching for alligators in any fresh water ponds. There is a lake behind the house we will be staying in on our trip and you can bet you sweet boopie that I will be keeping my eyes opened for either one!
Great idea! I should head down to the consignment shop too! I could probably fund our entire trip if I cleaned out everyone's closets.

Kitty, I don't think you need worry too much about all the school rules just yet. By the time your kids get school age there will be an all new set of rules. I am so thankful that I get to make all the rules at our school! Apparently, I am a real push over. My kids were actually getting along for a brief period of time today so I gave them "time off for good behavior". Of course, now that it is too late for them to do school today all bets are off so they will probably start fighting like cats and dogs anytime now.
You are too smart! I :lovestruc your idea of DD and I having our own little princess picnic. French pastries sound pretty good! She would probably like it just as much. She is not much into dolls anyway so she would never miss that part.... but still..... NAH!
You have got until November 1st to get your sleeping habits straightened out. Do you suppose your excitement about you trip is disturbing your sleep? I get so wound up as it gets closer that my brain won't stop spinning. I am hoping after I get all my ADRs made that I can go back to sleeping until a normal time... at least for a few weeks.
Poor Kitty. Those people out in the big wide forums can be really mean. Come on back here and we will try to cheer you up. You better take it easy and not get too riled or you might end up like another TKer that used to hang around here! ;)
Lucky for DN not having to face the nutcase. December will be here pretty quick so he will be able to have some justice served.
We do not observe Halloween in our house but when I was younger I did have lots of fun. One of my fondest memories of my dad was when he loaded a bunch of us up and took us to the rich neighborhoods for the really good candy. There was one house we went to that had a long tree lined drive. When we were making our way back to the truck he jumped out and scared us. That's probably why I was scarred for life! Anyway, you get out there and have a great time and eat some extra candy for me.
Yeah for not having to marry Edward!
Congratulations on your newfound Disney funds!

M&N & TMcDwyer, I have the same trouble remembering all the questions I have already asked too! I don't know how much of that comes from this being our first trip and me not wanting to miss anything or just because that is the way my brain works.
I talked to my 2nd cousin yesterday and it is clearly apparent that I did not get my "memory genes" from my grandfather's side of the family. Her mother is my great aunt who is 96. She said she was losing her memory a little. I am going to have lost more than a little WAY before I ever get close to 96!

M&N, yay for persistence and getting in on the Candlelight. Looks like we both get to see Steven Curtis Chapman!
60 is starting to look younger all he time! Funny how that works. :confused3
Your smilies were cute. Those look right up my alley and just might come in handy sometime!
I dream of Disney night and day!!!!

Welcome back, DL55! I bet you were pooped after all that time at the airport. It is always so good to get back home. Glad you had a great trip. I can't wait to see pics!

D&DDisney, it sounds like you are better off to keep your distance from those two! I hope it's a good while before you have to cross paths with either of them again.
I hope you are able to find a decent airfare rate. Do you have to leave on the weekend? I found it was considerably cheaper to depart on Tues. or Wed. with American.

SCHBR'smom, I hope your sick bunch gets feeling better soon. We have some of that going on here too. My DS has been feeling poorly for about a week. Now we just wait to see who is the next in line to get it.

BKMETV, your neighbor's puppy is so cute!!!! Of course, most puppies are but puppies also means more trouble too! Our dog was a very cute fur ball when she was a puppy too. AND THEN SHE CRAPPED ALL OVER THE FLOOR! I have no idea how so much came out of one small puppy and it was everywhere! That kinda changed my view of her as cute and cuddly. As you can imagine I am NOT looking forward to the puppy stage again.
It sucks that we can't pick our family!!
AMEN!

JOCAmom, I bet you are never through with laundry having 6 people in your family. It is bad enough with 4!
I am with you on those gray hairs. It's a toss up as to whether I will find more gray hairs eveyday or lose more everyday. Thankfully I don't appear to be going bald just yet. I am not so good as to only give Loreal my money. I go with which ever one is on sale. One of these days maybe I will find one I really like best but so far they are all pretty much the same.

Hi Sukie, M&N is right! Where's our report?

Hi, Bopsmom! They must be having a memorial on my head by now!

Good morning TKers!

The sun is finally making it's way through the fog. All that fog made for a chilly walk around the track. It was so thick it was hard to see the other walkers that were across the track from me.

Kids are at school and I didn't have to sub today. :woohoo: Now I have no excuse to not do my chores. Laundry, beds need to be made, vaccume, blah, blah, blah....

This week has gone by so fast! I can't believe it's Thursday already.

OMG! I am listening to a stream of a local radio program and they have a comedian, JUSTON MCKINNEY, on that is cracking me up! :lmao:

marie: I am glad that I could help. The catfish is what DS11(He was 9 at the time) liked the most.---The 6th is just our Departure day. If we had Park Hopper I would make plans to meet you wherever you happened to be. I would have no problem taking a break from the guys and finding my way to you. I need to ask DH if he has changed his mind about PH.

Some how I missed the "family issues" that people are having. I can really relate to you. For me it's my sister. She appears to be happy with how her life is so I figure "whatever". I don't talk to her very often.

Good morning! its gorgeous here too...I also can't believe its also Thursday. Where is the time going? I suppose I should be happy that my vacay is fast approaching, but I so enjoy the planning stages.

Marie, you are quite the night owl! Glad you liked the princess picnic idea. We really enjoy taking the time to snack around EPCOT and people watch. Sometimes its just as enjoyable to sit and talk rather than run from site to site.

Morning Pikester! Good luck on all your chores. Wishing you success!

Hi Magikitty!

It's funny, I know that your trip is really soon but I keep forgetting how soon. You better get all your stuff together.

Morning everyone. The sun is out now but supposed to rain through Sat.

Has anyone seen this place? http://www.d-cot.com I read it's suposed to have Disney music from all the parks you can listen to.

I moved my bed out as much as possible and cleaned under it so I figured I deserved a break! No major dust bunnies there! :woohoo: Back to work...

M&N: Now you be careful moving stuff around! I wouldn't want you to get hurt and end up not being able to go to Disney.

I just finished

the kitchen and pantry. Now I have to do the bathroom, dining room, hallway and staircase. Unless I decide to vaccume it instead while I have the vaccume cleaner out doing the livingroom. (I have wood floors with only carpeting in the livingroom)

Y'all making me feel bad! such hard workers and good cleaners! I'll think really really hard about cleaning as a show of solidarity....

Pikester...you need to get a Roomba. Let it do the work for you! You just have to clean it out....I love mine so much.

My ticker is wrong. I'm too lazy to change it. We're leaving on the 26th...16 days to go! I get to check-in online next week. I really haven't started packing beyond socks....

This entire post has been about how lazy I am! I'm so embarrassed!

hey guys...I just got an email from Pinecone research. Its a survey company that pays $1-3 per survey. Sometimes if you qualify, you get to try out products for them. I've been a member for 2 years. No gimmicks. But you have to receive an invitation to join. If anyone wants an invite, PM me your email and I'll forward it to you. Its an easy way to make some little money here and there.

Mom's got a tooth ache again...she had it filled several weeks ago. She's going to get the bus there but I'm meeting her. She really doesn't want to have a root canal and cap but she doesn't want a hole in her jaw either!
I don't blame mom on not wanting root canal.
1.gif
Hope everything feels better afterward.

Oh! I spoke to Edward last night....he's been accepted to a graduate program so now he can apply for a student visa! He still has a lot of paperwork to go, but hopefully, it'll pull though and I won't have to marry him!
I am so happy for him. He is such a nice guy! Although, it would have been nice to see you get married. :bride: We would've come to NY and thrown you a wicked bachelorette party. :thumbsup2

Do any of you dream of Disney? I was taking beautiful castle pictures last night! I just love the Christmas lights on it.
All the time!!!! Day dreams too! In fact, sometimes I can just smell the smells of WDW too.

Unfortunately, I have to see my wonderful family again this weekend for my nephew's (brother's boy) b-day party. My DH and I hate going to family get togethers, but do it for the kids (both ours and our nieces and nephews) Kids can't help who they ended up w/ either. I'll just drink heavily :drinking1, try to numb the pain and hope I don't say anything stupid. :rotfl2:
As for our flight - we are leaving on Tues or Wed and may be staying through the weekend. HOwever, I found that Disney raises hotel rates on the weekend quite significantly, so the cost of cheaper airfare might not be worth it in the end. Still looking though.

Just finished watching Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth while I was eating my lunch. The host of Destination Truth is a Hottie! Woo Baby! No beer goggles for this little lady.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Easy there Pikester. Don't want you to choke on your food.:lmao:

Thank you! Loving the Steel Drum songs. Anything is better than Play that Funky Music....
I signed up and will tell DD about it when she gets home.
DD just got her good laptop back yesterday (she had her old one that she should have been using when people come over-she is YouTube Buds with the boy that played Flounder in Little Mermaid on Broadway-no wonder I had to make that trip and they talked when he came out the stage door:confused3). Anyways, a "friend" stomped on it in anger 2 weeks ago and DD had to pay to get it fixed and was relegated to the old PC until it came back. That girl is no longer welcome here BTW. My poor DD she was shocked that the child would do that....the girl was so rude about it too. She came down and said, "yeah, I did that, you can just buy her a new one" The b word came to mind:rolleyes1 but, the child's mom was there at the time and was just as shocked as I was-the girl is having problems(home&school) and is acting out---she can act out elsewhere from now on.
I love to play music around the house. Yesterday VH1 was doing all Beatles and with a rainy day (finally) it was fun to do housework.
Is anyone going to get the Beatles Wii? I wanted to but 1) too expensive, 2)storing all that stuff. I still might think about it for DD and DH's joint Xmas-they love to play Wii.
DH is going to Ohio for football this weekend. It will be nice to just be the girls. I hate shopping(IRL) but may take her out while he is gone.:upsidedow

:scared1:

Yep, broke the screen and motherboard and even cracked the DVD/CD holder on the side, she did it with so much force.
Poor DD she was stunned to say the least. They basically had to replace to whole computer. Thank goodness when we bought it we got insurance but still DD had to pay for that coverage.
This child, whose parents are very nice BTW, is just mean/willfull. She has to always be right, argues with adults(that don't fly here) and DD has tried to be friends with her but, this is not the first spiteful thing she has done to her.
I have told DD to cut her loose because the friendship was hurting her at school-sorry but you are known by the company you keep. It was sad because last Friday the girl called and wanted DD to sleepover and DD said if she didn't go no one else would. She didn't go-clean break.

:scared1::scared1: Me too! I can't believe what that "friend" did!

:scared1::scared1: Hate to go shopping!?! (just kidding!)

Ok, I just have to get this out. I keep reading about all these people trying to figure out a way to Sea World from Disney. I want to offer someone a ride, since BF and I are going twice on this trip. BF is an adamant NO--he says I'm too trusting. I just hate to think of people shelling out $100 on transportation back and forth to Sea World when I'm going anyway. Its criminal!

On the other hand, these are probably the same people who will cut me off in line and mumble something under their breath about BF's crutches or wheelchair.

I agree, I would just offer to share a taxi (we do it all the time @ WDW) and be free to come and go. You don't want to responsible for others just in case. You are just too nice :) BTW-my hair smells terrific:lmao:

OK Ladies,
TMI, maybe but I think that maybe this weekend, since DH will be gone, DD and I will have "the talk" she has asked questions, she talks about periods with both of us already and may/may not know most of it but, doesn't know our values or other aspects of this.
I have talked about this to other kids before:teacher: but, am strangely nervous about talking to my own kid.:confused3:rotfl::confused3 She is level-headed but, I don't want to weird her out.
Any advice from experience or having older children?
What to avoid/stress would be things I need to know.

Bopsmom....which "talk" are you talking about? Just the period one...what her body is doing? Or the "talk talk" about boys and whatnot?

Honestly, I've had my period for decades now, and its still weirds me out to think about what my body is doing. So don't worry about freaking her out. Its just some weird stuff....

I don't pick up hitchikers...I don't see very many of them. BUt I have been known to stop and offer rides to older people walking. Especially if they have groceries or something. I feel bad and would like to think that someone would stop and help my parents if they were struggling with stuff...I know, its bad.
