Piikester...I'm so with you on the MJ tribute. I did watch it, but it totally did not have to be on EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL! And to add to it, there's the "condensed" versions on later tonight. I think maybe two channels should have carried it, max.

I did enjoy John Mayer though....I've been inspired to put John on rotation for tomorrow's drive up to Binghamton with my homeless and stupid nephew.

Ok, this is probably going to sound awful but......why did MJ's tribute have to interfere with my soap operas?! I mean seriously! The man was just that, a man. I don't see and other tributes going on for all the other big stars who died recently. And, if they did have to have one believe it or not; not everyone wanted to see it.

I missed Dr Phil...it was a 2 parter! I think it was really ridicules to have it on tv...maybe MTV or something but don't feel all networks had to show it. If the governor of a state or a regular politicial figure died, it would not be on. The Pres of US, yes...but a celebrity, I don't think so.

Started my tanning tonight for the cruise. It was finally nice to be warm again. I am only doing 12 session between now and July 30th. I don't want to get burned and ruin my trip.

MagiKitty, racetrack18kb, Pikester thanks for sharing your takes on Facebook. I am amazed at how many people just have tons and tons of "friends". Personally, I can only think of a few people from my past that I would even want to consider accepting as friends. I am certainly not accepting anyone that I do not know.

Pikester, I know just what you mean about having you soap opera interfered with! I feel the same way everytime they have a sports event or some stupid "breaking news". It seems to be a pretty common occurrence that some idiot is running from the police in Dallas. I could really care less... I need to know what is happening on General Hospital! Truly, since the new digital thing I have been watching GH online. Then I can go ahead and watch all the steamy scenes without having to black them out when DD is in the room.

As for the MJ memorial today... I have to admit I tried to watch it online but DH had the nerve to come home for lunch right as it was getting started. I made it back just in time to catch the last part, when MJ's poor little girl broke down crying. I did get a lump in my throat and pretty misty eyed then. As I was watching online off the the side of my screen people were posting on Facebook like crazy. Looked like a ticker tape. It was really sad that some people took the opportunity to post in a negative manner. No matter what MJ may or may not have been in life he still had people around him who loved him and are hurting. It would be nice if people with nothing good to say could have shown a little respect and just kept their thoughts to themselves. Of course, I am sure the media will be feeding off of the entire event for quite some time to come.

I'm around. The kids and I are busy picking out hair dye. DH isn't dyeing his hair lime green anymore. Let's just say the color we picked is much, much brighter.

marie, I watched the highlights of the memorial service earlier. Whatever MJ was or wasn't, there are still family members who loved him just for him, not the celebrity. His children lost the only parent they ever knew. And that I think is the saddest thing of all.

I had a very good visit with my youngest aunt. She's about 2 yrs older than me. I used to go and stay at Grandmas and we became great friends too. We drove around the county a lot and looked at the Amish furniture stores. we went to the outlets and did not get even 1 pair of shoes. Last time we had a total of 9 pairs, counting her husband's. We rode the Strasburg train to Paradise which I had not done for several years.
I got my hair hi lighted today so now I'll look younger for the TK meet in Hershey. I was going to say I would be 5 pounds lighter but I'm sure I gained it back during my aunt's visit.

I agree Racetrack...it's his kids that will suffer. I don't think they could have had a normal life anyway. Always being in front of the public like that. I wish the media could just let it be. (I guess that's a Beatles song! Sorry! )

I have an uncle who's 2 years older than me. We grew up together too since I would spend almost every weekend at my grandma's too. Just saw him and his wife at my dad's for the 4th.

I won't say DH and I will look younger for the tker meet but we sure will look freakier.

NO, no mohawk for either DH or I. But DS asked for his to be cut that way. I'm dreading hearing what his mom will say but he is quite old enough to make that kind of decision for himself. It's only hair.

We are all dyeing our hair next week. And everyone has picked out different colors so we'll look like a rainbow walking through the park. It's only temporary but the kids want to have fun with it. What the heck, it's summer and it will wash out before school.

Bad posts? Are you kidding me? I love seeing your posts because you always have such great stories to tell us. I use to watch GH until I had kids. Since then, I don't think I've seen it at it's regular broadcast time. I do subscribe to all the soap magazines to keep up with what's going on. I totally have soft spot for Sonny and Jason. Would trade in DH for either one of them.

Ok, colors.....hot hot pink, purple haze, electric banana, after midnight blue, vampire red, electric lizard highlights, and flaming red highlights.

There are six of us....five are dyeing all their hair and one is doing the highlights.
