TKers Take the Fifth!

Ah, you guys have spoiled me! I forgot what it was like to be a TKer, for a moment.

I've posted/started two threads in as many days and have so far gone ignored. I wonder if I smell? :rotfl2:

Sorry to add to the morbid conversation, but my sister and I always giggle when we think about going to heaven and being met by all our past pets. It would be a herd! But I take solace that I will see, play, and pet them again. And, of course, be with family and friends long passed. I would love to have conversations with some dead famous people like Leonardo da Vinci, Artemisia Gentileschi, Elvis, and Queen Elizabeth I!

Oh, I have to be thankful for the windfall of product trials I'm involved in. Presently, I'm testing Bounty paper towels, Bliss moisturizer, Always pads, Pantene shampoo and I just signed up for Covergirl lip gloss. I'm sure my mail person thinks I'm up to no good, all these little boxes arriving at my house. I'm also waiting for the Tide campaign to start. Free laundry! Woo hoo!

Hi All,
nothing much going on here, well there could be but since I decided to prune the roses for 2 hours I really should be getting stuff done. Okay since I jump in and did not read all I missed, I noticed kitty mentioned a couple of you loss family members. M&N and DL? :hug:I am sorry for your loss.
Happy Aniversary DD, I'm doing this from memory so if I am messing up the event with the name sooorrry.
I can't believe that fox news has done nothing but report on MK, forget what else is going on in the world. It is sad that someone so talented grew up to be so strange and I guess tortured in his own world. I do have to say what bothers me is that since this came across the news yesterday afternoon prior to 4, poof that's all you here about and very little focus has been on Farrah. Okay neen to get something done at almost 2 instead of gardening. Hot, Humid and cloudy here, go figure:rolleyes1.

Cant even turn on the TV--its all Michael Jackson. Is nothing else happening in the world? Meanwhile, DS sits at his computer, looking at everything he can find on MJ. He was even wearing his sparkly glove for awhile. :lmao:

I feel so bad for Farrah's family. Her death, while not unexpected, is so sad, and yet there is barely a mention of her. Couldnt the King of Pop have waited a day? (OK, I know that is a horrible thing to say, but seriously, all the magazines will have him splashed on the covers of their special issue, and she will be lucky to get a paragraph on page 147.)

I do remember the days when MJ was THE thing. Heck, my first concert was the Jackson's Victory Tour! Back when he was a nice looking black kid, with incredible talent, before he got so strange. What a waste of all that talent. *sigh*

Its about 82 here, and muggy as all get out. Even with the AC on, the humidity in the house is close to 80%. (and yet DD is napping with a blanket wrapped around her:confused3:confused3)

I went grocery shopping and printed out the packing lists for the kids for camp. That about sums up my pruductivity for the day. Maybe I will go take a nap too--no blanket for me though.

Is this really only day 3 of summer vacation??:scared1:

:thumbsup2 its the truth, maybe this is a blessing in disguise for Farrah's family. Because then they would hounding Ryan and fam. So this will give them the privacy they need right now.

I've been watching some of the old Michael Jackson videos along with everyone else. There was a time when he was really a pretty handsome guy. Such a shame that he was not happy with himself. Guess it just goes to prove money cannot buy happiness. I think it is terribly sad how cruel people were about him. He was a human being after all and he still had family and friends who loved him. I imagine that none of us can even begin to fathom what his life must have been like. And along with that I imagine that few of us knew what was true or untrue about him. Being under constant scrutiny from fans, peers and the media would surely be enough to affect even the most grounded individual. If put under a microscope how many of us would qualify as "normal"? It is an unfortunate fact that the media prefers to sensationalize whatever they find that is negative. I prefer to remember that he was an extraordinarily talented individual and glad that he shared his talent with the world. I hope his children are able to grow up with a happy and normal life and remember Michael for the side of him that probably only they knew.

Pikester, I think you made the right choice. I would pick a trip to Disney any day over a pool. As D&DDisney mentioned they are a lot of work! We just cleaned out DD's wading pool. She will probably get in it all of 4 times and be done with it. It'll either be too hot or there will be too many bugs!
I would gladly trade my 103 degrees for your 82 degrees! I had not really planned to get out into the heat this morning but.... I went out to do a little watering since DH still has not straightened out the sprinkler system. I currently have to turn it on manually which is not easy because the gripper in my hand is getting old and defective. Anyway, I finally got it turned on and then some of the sprinkler heads were clogged so I proceeded to fix them. I fixed them alright and me too. Soaked from head to toe! Nothing like a freezing cold blast of water right in the face to really wake you up good. Since I was already sopping wet I stayed outside and did more watering, trimming and filled up DD's pool. I gotta say that DH is gonna have to put on an easier to turn handle before I take on fixing the other ones! I am also going to have to keep an eye over my shoulder to make sure that no one is taping me for a funniest video clip.
We don't have chipmunks but I do have a family of squirrels in my front yard which are really fun to watch. I have a feeder that spins and another that is like a bungee. Gotta keep the little critters entertained so they stay away from the bird feeders.

DL55, I am totally out of touch. What or who made you think of Alaska?
Speaking of Alaska... my mother lived out her dream living there for 5 years. She lived in Anchorage awhile and on Kodiak Island. I still remember her telling me about it being 40 below. Too cold for me! We never made it up there because we just could not afford it. Sure wish we had been able to now because that was probably the only way we will ever get around to seeing it. She absolutely loved it and I am so glad she went because she passed away shortly after she came back. Anyway, it will be a wonderful trip for you if it is something you have always wanted to do. I think a cruise would be very cool!

Kitty, I don't think that talking about getting to heaven someday is morbid at all. My DD thinks one of the coolest persons she wants to meet is Walt Disney. Me, personally, I am looking forward to seeing my mother again and seeing if she saved me a place like I told her to. I'd like to meet Rich Mullins and Lucille Ball. I think I'd probably even tag along with DD to meet Walt.

Good evening!

I guess eveyone is out partying tonight.

Cake and ice cream tomorrow at my house.

What are your plans for this weekend?

Tomorrow we are going to the Crayola Factory for DD8's birthday. It's been open for years and we only live 15 minutes from it but have never gone. We were suppose to do something last weekend but we needed to get the van fixed. Got the van back yesterday and I better not see another bill for it for a couple of years. Almost $700 for various things that DH kept telling me that he would take care of. Never got around to any of them and I finally told him just to take it in and get it all fixed. I didn't care what it would cost anymore.

What kind of cake are you having?

Marble with butter cream frosting and vanilla ice cream on the side. DH has been bugging me for the last few days about what I want but I honestly can't think of anything, atleast nothing small. (Pool?) :upsidedow

You are so wonderful for remembering!:flower3:

The Crayola Factory sounds cool. I remember watching an episode of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood where they showed crayons being made. Or maybe it was Sesame Street? No, I'm pretty sure it was Mr. Roger's.

Cars falling apart suck!

I've been having the same problems with gifts lately. Even when we were on vacation, I saw lots of things that I liked but nothing I really wanted to buy. The only thing I bought the entire week was a Grinch shirt that said "WICKED".

At this point in my life, I think the best gift would be a nice peaceful day without any of the kids fighting. Or barely fighting would be more realistic. :lmao:

Of course, I couldn't forget.

Well, you're better then me because I never remember unless I write it on my calendar.

Have a good night!

Hey there lighttech! How are you and the family? We've missed you!

Same old craziness here, glad you found us. I know, we're a chatty bunch. but you knew that already.

I guess the big question from me is....do you know we're invading your part of the woods next month? TKer meet at Hershey!

Well, now that I've gotten that out of my system. Sorry I haven't checked in for so long. Summer is really crazy for us. And, my usual respite, my lunch break at work, has been basically non-existent. So, I have no online time anymore.

Things are going o.k. here. I hope I haven't missed anything too exciting and that everyone is doing well.

DS (now 4) is busy announcing that he is now 4 and talking about all the things he can do. ("Because I am 4, you know.") BL, believe it or not is 10mos, and is Trouble w/ a capital T. (kind of redundant when you are typing it to begin w/ I suppose. :rotfl:) He's a great baby, and very happy. He's not intentionally T-rouble, he's just extremely curious, extremely persistant, extremely confident, ridiculously mobile for someone who doesn't walk, and INTO EVERYTHING! DS was so laid back as a baby that we barely baby-proofed the house. BL on the other hand is going to give me a heart attack. Someone who cannot walk should not be able to climb things so well! :scared1:

Anyway, back to work, but I'll try to check in later. I really miss you guys!

I do, Racetrack emailed me. I don't know for sure what's going on, but when you guys get your itinerary together, I'll see if I can't at least make it up for a meal or something even if I can't hit the park for the day.
