TKers Take the Fifth!

I just saw this week's race posted so I can make my picks in case I have to leave. Mom didn't hear from my aunt so she's worried we won't get there for the funeral. I said things were probably too crazy today to make any decisions. Mom called her sister who told her their minister had eye surgery today so that may make a difference too. Living 7 hrs away makes it more difficult. I could not go to one aunt's funeral when I was working because I only got 1 day off.

What happened to Kyle on Sunday? We had to watch the Phillies mostly. I saw Jr go back but they never showed much of that either.

Tell your mom not to worry....you'll get there. And you are right, they are most likely trying to finalize everything before they tell the family anything.

That race was just crazy. I swear everytime I turned around someone was spinning or going through the dirt. I don't know what happened to Kyle or Jr. They were both doing well at one point.

Do you like these announcers? I think Kyle Petty was trying to explain things. I did like the double file restart. Made it more exciting at the end for those up front instrad of having cars laps down in the way.

I like these announcers better than the last set. I like Kyle Petty....ever since he drove his wrecked racecar across the start/finish line to technically finish the race. And he comes across as knowing what he's talking about.

I also noticed, they admitted when they got something wrong. And one of them even said that a Hendrick driver was at fault for one of the accidents. You never hear that with the last set of announcers especially DW. He's just a butt kisser.

Double file restarts worked for me. I never thought lapped cars should be up there anyway.

Have you seen Pit Stop in a Southern Kitchen: Two Moms of Racing Legends Serve Up Stories and Recipes by Martha Earnhardt and Carol Gordon Bickford? My friend says the stories are great...she may never use the recipes but enjoyed reading it.

I remember hearing about the book but I never really looked at. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Re: Food--the problem is, I don't like much of anything these days!! I have a freezer full of stuff I cant stand the thought of eating! kebabs sound yummy, but way too much work for me! Swiss steak...hmmmm, could be interesting. I am also thinking about Racetrack's yummy BBQ. As far as eating healthy, well, I DID go out to eat the past 5 nights...and yesterday I made something like Rice Krispie Treats, but with Golden Grahams instead, and with milk chocolate chips added. Sort of like S'mores in a dish. So, guess what I ate for breakfast...

Re: Facial Hair--dont even get me started! I have to shave my chin almost daily. Weird, since I am NOT a hairy person! But my DSis got some of those Smooth Away pads and guess what?!? They work! My legs havent been this smooth in years! Didnt do so great on DD, but on mine they were awesome. Made my chin sore tho, so I will go back to shaving there. My mom has an entire "lawn" on her chin and lower cheeks. I have to "mow the lawn" whenever I visit! I swear she has more hair on her face than on her head. I am doomed...

Re: The Yellow Orb--it seems to be trying to make an appearance here today. I am cheering it on. Jim is outside planting flowers. Not nearly enough, but he says they wont spread much more this late in the season, and I refuse to go bankrupt buying flowers! So they wont fill in as much as I would like, but it is still a great improvement! Gotta go now and buy him some Miracle Gro dirt and some kind of weed killer.

 C ya l8r!!!

Good Morning.

I see the yellow orb coming and going too.

Glad someone else could get into the facial hair discussion! I have more than my dad had! I now have to watch for white hairs in my eye brows...

whgrn, I really would enjoy liking a food a little less. Can't imagine how that would be. Unfortunately, what's a girl supposed to do when food is one of those things in life you do enjoy? Everything would have been just fine if I had been born with skinny genetics but NOOOOOOO! I have to have tubby genes!
Congratulations on your new flower garden!

Speaking of food.... racetrack, your counter makes me hungry!

Ah, the good ole facial hair. Great on men. Not so great on gals. I have a mole and a "fatty deposit" that sprout hairs on a regular basis. Those are the easy ones cause you know they are there. The ones I hate are the sneaky ones that you suddenly find after they are an inch long! Then you wonder how many other people have seen them before you did. YUCK! I am fixing to train my DD to inspect my chin for me cause my eyesight has changed and I can't see the little buggers like I used to. I used to be able to find the hairs on the "unibrow" fairly easy but after I had some electrolysis done a whole new crop of baby fine blonde ones grew back in. Those are hard to find and hold onto, unlike the cruel stiff white ones. Oh well, I guess hair somewhere is better than no hair at all!

We made it through Judo class. DS did not actually participate this time. The instructor was a woman which I thought was an interesting factor. Glad to know that my DS does not discriminate. She has been doing Judo since she was 5, which equaled 36 years, so I guess she should be pretty darn good! Anyway, the classes are held in this really cool recreational center. DH, DD and I can walk the track upstairs or play racketball while we are waiting. If they gets to be too much work I suspect we might just end up going out to eat since class is 1-1/2 hours. He is gonna be disappointed to not start next week but I was not paying full price for him to go 1 week in June.

Kerrie---I saw you smiley-ing this morning!

I'm avoiding doing anything here...

Marie: I have certain spots I check everyday. I know about the 'how the heck did that one grow so long' shock. The hairs in my eye brows grow very long too. Glad your ds is involved in sports...keep them busy in good activities.

I guess I had better get going and get something done. Haven't heard from VA yet. I think they are going to be clueless without my uncle.

JOKE:
What is the difference between Bird Flu and Swine Flu?
For bird flu you need tweetment and for swine flu you need oinkment.

I know it's a groaner but thought your kiddies would like it too...

M&N So sorry to hear about your uncle. I laughed at your joke. I like corny jokes.

So far no really noticeable facial hair. I do worry about my upper lip sometimes but I blame it on the lighting in the bathroom. I am in charge of trimming DH's ear and nose hair. :scared: The problems of growing old..

Didn't stay on the DIS too long yesterday. It was taking forever to update pages. As I get older I'm getting more impatient. :guilty:

I hate to do it but I guess I'll join in on the facial hair conversation. I've noticed that over the last couple of years my lip fuzzies have been turning darker and darker. I've been plucking but am keeping my fingers crossed that they don't get any darker.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago an inch long hair on my face! Hopefully nobody else noticed it.

Cute joke M&N!

:wave2:Hi everyone! M&N thanks for the PM. It has been forever since I've been on, and I really miss you guys:grouphug: I see we have some new people who have joined in:yay: and I see we are missing some people, even some people that I never got to know from the last couple of threads.
So, I am going to try to get back into the dis well at least this thread. Glad I get to 'see' some of you on FB. Though I think that is a love/hate thing for me. I wonder sometimes if that would have been better off being a college kid thing. LITC I see you are pregnant :dance3::banana: congrat's I read about the first 7 pgs or so and when I realized that we were up to 39, I thought I better just jump in or else I'll never get on. I just noticed there is a blinkies. com in my siggie??????:confused3 How did they throw a ad in my siggie????

Its been a scocher here. Upper 90s and very humid. Kids have been in the pool non stop. Its like we went from spring weather 60s immediately to 90s. Not complaining, just wishing for a more gradual transition.

Love the facial hair discussion. I do enjoy facial hair on guys. :thumbsup2 Not looking forward to the days of ridding unwanted facial hair. :sad2:

Dinner ideas here consist of anything I can throw in the crock pot or put on the grill.

I enjoy cooking and grilling but only on charcoal. No gas for me.

Racetrack - thought I'd post a pic of your fantasy guy from his new movie - Alice in Wonderland.
JohnnyDepp.jpg

See... this is why I can't picture him as sexy. He's always playing these wierd characters that get stuck in my head. :rotfl2:

Hey Disney54us!!! :yay:Long time no see. Miss you!
