Morning ladies! I've been up and at em browsing the Disney info all morning long while DH slept in for his Father's Day gift. I don't quite get it, I feel like I am wasting good time if I sleep late but to him it is a huge treat and one of his favorite things to do. Anyway, fixing to give him his cards and take him out to eat for lunch.

Amen, BKMETV! Moms with large families are AMAZING! 2 is my limit! I really hadn't planned on the second one but God had another plan. I am glad he did cause I don't know what I would do with out either one of my kids.

Well, ya'll are just not much help with the CP, now are you? :lmao: Guess I am gonna have to find some expert WDW advice elsewhere!
In answer to your question, racetrack18kb, so far here's my plan....
Day 1- Arrival day, pickup groceries, swim, meet up with DS's friends
Day 2- DS-Prime Time Café lunch & Sci Fi Dine In for shake/dessert
Day 3- AK-Rainforest Café lunch
Day 4- No park day, bowling, Hoop-De-doo, wagon ride & water pageant
Day 5- MK-Tony's lunch
Day 6- EP-Coral Reef lunch
Day 7- MK-Cosmic Ray's lunch
Day 8- MK-Columbia Harbor House lunch, Spectro
Day 9- No park day, Bubba Gump lunch, Titanic Exhibit, beach
Day 10-MK-Crystal Palace lunch
Day 11-No park day, undecided, maybe Holy Land Experience, Wonderworks show or WCC and Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage
Day 12-MK or AK-TMLT Noodle Station or Yak & Yeti CS or Flame Tree BBQ
Day 13-EP or HS, Candlelight Processional w/Garden Grill or Teppan Edo
Day 14-MK-Liberty Tree Tavern or Pecos Bill
Day 15-Return home
What do you think? My MK days can be rearranged as far as dining goes. Will probably be leaving some of the decision to what everyone is hungry for that day. I tried to find some places with food we liked that were close to the turkey leg carts cause DS LOVES those.
I think I'm coming right along!

Morning,
Kids have been in the pool almost non stop for 2 days. Weather is hot 80s and humid so perfect pool weather. This is our first year with a bigger non-wading pool, so I'm a little nervous. It's one of those easy up pools that you take down in fall - about 3 ft deep. How do deal with the chemicals? The directions say to test water every day but who has time to do that? I was thinking a good cleaning 1x per week or 2x per week. Any advice?????:confused3

I was down visiting my sister today...she's managing to get around with a walker...the doctor was in (this evening after I left of course) and has decided to order another MRI...he's not happy with how the swelling isn't going down. Meanwhile I now have her two kids for the weekend. My mom has my niece and DD tonight while DNephew and DS sleep here. They'll probably all hang at the pool tomorrow providing it doesn't rain all day. I plan on having a lot of wine!!
Yeah that your sis continues to improve. Sorry you have to drink so much to cope w/ the kids.

Heads up PA Tkers! i read on the boards that Giant supermarkets this week are having a promo for Hershey tix! Spend $40 on certain items and get one ticket free. I'm not sure of the details, we don't have a Giant here, but it may help some of you out---especially since we all have to buy stuff for the cookout!
I wish we had a Giant around here. Is there one near our campgrounds??? If so I might do a big shop before we check in and maybe get us one free ticket. (if they're still running the promo then). Thanks!

Tomorrow is DD7's 8th birthday.
D&D and DL55 (since I think you go camping too), I've never been camping of any sort. DH hasn't been since he was a kid. What would you consider your "must haves" for camping? I know we are not really "camping" since we will be in one of those rv trailers but there must be things that you bring to make things easier. Any tips or pointers would be helpful.

:bday:to your DD!

As far as camping goes, I've found the following must haves for camping and can be used other times too...
*Folding/camp chairs (the ones that fit into a bag that sling over the back)
*Sleeping bags & pillows
*Marshmellow roasting forks (set of 4 sold at Walmart)
*Folding towel rack or clothes line & clothes pins to dry towels
*Charcoal & lighter fluid and/or small grill or tri-pod for outdoor cooking
*Matches & kindle (newspaper) in a dry plastic box for starting campfires
*Koozies for your beer or soda (keeps em cool longer) :thumbsup2
*Good set up bbq tools (flipper, tongs, etc)

Soom other tips for camping/trailering...
*fill some milk jugs w/ water and freeze 1week before you leave. Saves on having to buy ice right away and keeps stuff colder
*Pack any food going in cooler in Tupperware type containers (like butter, fruit, lunchmeats, etc) That way when the ice melts it doesn't get the food all soggy.
*Bring some extra plastic garbage bags (for trash and packing wet items back into your car) campgrounds usually don't give ya enough of these.

Marie - your itinerary sounds great. You're going to have so much fun. Sorry I dont' have any thoughts or experience with CP.

I'm completely distracted today. It may have actually stopped raining, but its really humid which makes me think it'll just rain again later.

Trying to keep plans straight between Hersheypark and the September trip is making me bonkers! But I'm so so grateful to be able to do both, I'm not complaining.

Marie, your itinerary looks great to me! So glad you're taking time out of the parks and seeing other side of Orlando. My only suggestion would to not consider Yak and Yeti CS. It wasn't very good. I've heard great things about Flame Tree, you should probably go there....

I've eaten at Coral Reef, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi and Cosmic Rays. They were all really good in their own way. I really liked Coral Reef, and BF specifically requested both Sci-Fi and Cosmic Rays. We're doing 50s PT for the first time this year. I liked the variety of Crystal Palace, but buffets are rough for me, getting up and going for food, then running back to see the characters, take pictures, etc. Its a gorgeous restaurant.

D&D...what wonderful weather you have for pool time! I don't have a pool, so no help from here. I do have a kiddie pool that I fill on the deck a few times during the summer for the dog. I do hope that Giant promo runs while we're there too....

Greetings everyone,
Hope all are enjoying Father's Day. I am currently sitting here watching the sky dump on us today. I'm not complaining since the rain should cool down our 99-degree heat index. Hope everyone has a restful weekend.

Salutations, Sir Robin! Hot and humid here, but overall an pleasant holiday. glad to hear you had a break from the heat. Didn't know Sherwood got that hot! :lmao:

Kitty, it sounds like we must like a lot of the same food. I too, love the buffets but have come to the decision that it is too much trouble if you are trying to keep up with characters.
D&DDisney, I know I am gonna have a blast and everyone else better too if they know what's good for em! I am not doing all this planning for nothing! This bunch is really very good at humoring me and getting into the Disney mood. I love it when my kids ask me every few days how much longer until our trip, which BTW is only 163 days. Even more exciting is when my DH occasionally asks. That really makes my day!

Well, we made it into Fort Worth and back for dad's lunch. On the way back home we swung by my old neighborhood and the house I grew up in. So strange! Anyone ever notice how much smaller houses seem when you get all grown up? And, the trees in our front yard were huge! Nothing like I remembered. Kinda fun to show the kids.
My grandmother's old house is not too far from us and I remember thinking how it had shrunk too the last time we were inside of it. It was up for sale and I had thought it would be wonderful to buy it but it was way too small. Funny, I never thought that when I was a kid.

finally got a break and I can check in

marie, I just noticed your from Decatur. My mom drives thru there to come to our house. And my sis has had a few court cases there (she's a lawyer). I remember stopping there all the time during school trips out of town. (I grew up in Wichita Falls, but went to school in Burkburnett.) My sis lives in Fort Worth currently, mom still in WF, and I'm a little east of Austin. It sure is a small world (after all). Now, that song is stuck in my head. :)

Hi Robin! Sounds like Sherwood is pretty steamy today.
I am having a restful weekend. Thanks!

My SIL & BIL live in Austin. Near Pfluegerville (I love saying that name ) We have gone there to visit quite often. We stay in Round Rock right off I-35. They also have 5 children 4 girls and 1 boy. That is one place I wont camp during the summer. Way too hot for my thick northern blood.

That's crazy! We live east, not north, otherwise, I'd think we were related!

We're used to the heat, but it seems to be a bit excessive this summer.

Girls you better watch out when you are browsing on HBO. I still have a vivid image burned into my mind. When we went on vacation a couple years ago we were taking our afternoon break in our room one afternoon. I was scanning channels and when I did I caught a couple doing "the deed" right there on HBO. I was in total shock cause it was not one of your discreet love scenes. I thought HBO used to be at least somewhat of a family channel. Boy, was I wrong! I was just extremely grateful that my DD was not in the room.

Thanks D&D for taking on my photo to make me a TKer. I can't wait to get started traveling!

My nutty husband came in yesterday with one of those pieces of equipment that you hang upside down on. His nephew sent it home with him cause it is supposed to help his back. Now I do not know how much it will help his back but it certainly entertained us for a bit! Seeing my control freak hubby hanging upside down at the mercy of my son was pretty funny. Of course, after we all laughed at him he pretty much dared the rest of us to try it when he was through. Well, I figured if he could take it so could I. It started out kinda fun but I would not want to spend more than a minute or so hanging upside down cause it felt like my head would explode! Thankfully, it didn't leave me with a major headache but it did leave my tummy feeling kinda yucky. Anyway, the kids were not about to try it. So looks like that will probably be the last time anyone around here gets on it. Guess we will never find out if it really makes your back feel better.

We are having a quiet afternoon around here today. I have actually been looking over my WDW rough draft a bit. It is really coming together. Hopefully when the current park hours come out it won't conflict with everything I've decided on. Still gotta decide if we want to do any character meals and the CP. Guess it depends on how the funding looks by then. Does anyone know if you do the Garden Grill as part of the CP package if they still have the characters? It would be nice to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Hey Marie--a few months ago a local tv station here did a report on those machines that you hang upside down on and for all the participants-they either felt no relief or actually got worse from hanging upside down. That is all I know about them though, may be a good thing to just ignore, kinda like those pieces of exercise equipment we all buy with the best intentions. :lmao:

Hey there! How are you? Maybe she is just having a really fun filled fathers day? I didn;t get on at all yestderday, I had to work the p/t job. Think I have to give it up soon, by the end of 8 hours on my feet I just want to crawl into a hole and die!

I'm just dandy. I didn't get on yesterday either. Busy enjoying the outside and pool w/ the kids.
You poor dear. You take care of yourself now. Put those babies up and relax.

I'm here. Just veggie out, drinking a beer and hoping the kids come down off their sugar high soon.

Hi LITC!!!

D&D, that was some race today. For some reason, I don't remember other road races with them spinning and wrecking so much.

LOL, love the smilie, probably what they smelled like to! Hey Race. Drinkin a beer huh? We were out shopping a bit today and my DH kept pointing out theses wines form other countries and stuff....I'm like hello? At least 3 more months til that is even a possibility. Quit making me mad!

That was the only feet smilie I could find. Was hoping you'd interpret it as hot, aching feet. :rotfl:

Hey Race! Didn't get to see the race today, but was listening to it on the radio. We were outside most of the day then took DH for pizza. Sounded real exciting. I also don't remember road courses being this exciting.

LITC, as long as he was only pointing them, it's ok. He didn't buy any,did he?

D&D, that's exactly what I said to DH today. I could just imagine how it sounded on the radio. If they are going to be this exciting, I might have to think about going to a road course race.

No he didn't buy any! He did buy a case of Bud the other day (I wasn't with him though) but that is ok, I am not really into beer, so he can have that!
