Oh no D&D! My prayers out to the poor doggie and to your family. My heart is heavy thinking about it.

Wendy, congrats on the swanky new digs and even better roommate. How long will you be there? Keep doing well with your ambulation and the dreaded rack!

Hey Marie! Congrats on the weight loss success....that's absolutely awesome.

JOCA....feel better! And hopefully all the furniture looks fantastic.

The Schwan's man is supposed to deliver to Bf by Wednesday. His birthday isn't until the Saturday after, but I was so excited I wanted it to arrive before I left. I'm terrible at keeping secrets from him. I get so giddy I just want to spill the beans.

When I first started posting on here I use to think of you as M&M!

I had to be careful how I type it too! :rotfl:

Lesson learned, though. Don't put fruit on your face and fall asleep. You'll become a tree.

:rotfl: Leave it to you to come with that moral!

Oh...I feel guilty and slightly liberated. I just un-friended someone for the first time on Facebook.

Just so you don't unfriend the TKers! You are our leader!

Need some prayers from my TKer family.
Our beloved 13 yr old dog (Disney) isn't doing too well tonight....I am a little scared to take her to the vet cuz I have a feeling I know what they are going to say and it makes me :sad1:.

pixiedust: How's poor Disney? Getting old is the pits...aches and pains. Hope the vet can do something.

The prescription the doctor gave me last week appears to be working. I have lost 6 or 7 pounds since last Friday. I wish it would continue at that pace but I am sure the first week has been mostly getting rid of excess water and will slow down from here on out. The meds, unfortunately, are not without side affects. I have been having some sleepless nights and feeling a bit gloomy. Here's hoping those both subside. I want to lose weight but I don't want to be a depressed zombie.

What has the dr said about side affects? Don't worry about loosing fast. I think healthy eating is the key. The diabetic classes I attended said 2 pounds a week was great. You are right...a depressed zombie would not be good! I'm not even sure a cheerful zombie would be good!

Did you spill the beans yet Kitty? What kind of stuff can you get from them? Just meat or other stuff too?

whgrn Glad to hear you got a better roommate. At least you are able to walk around. Hopefully the pain will subside soon. :flower3:

D&DDisney Your poor doggie.

MagiKitty Try to hold out until the present comes. :rotfl:

mariezp The weight loss sounds great just remember slow weight loss is better, usually stays off. If you lose too quickly it may just jump back on on when you're not looking. ;)

Pikester Love the pic. HeHe

hey campers!! well i am waiting to hear if i am leaving today for rehab or leaving tomorrow for home. I am rooting for home. I can get almost as much PT at home by having the VNA PT come MWF and then going out to my PT T-TH. If I do a second set of exercises each night, I will be pretty much on the same schedule. I would really much rather go home. I miss my kids, my dog, and my bed. I would also be able to take 'the rack' with me. thats the knee bending machine that got me such great results last time, so we wilo see what yhappens.

D&D I am soooo sorry about your doggie. I hope he will be ok.

Marie, congrats on the weight loss, but be really careful with those diet pills. they can do more harm than good.

MK what is this Schwans you keep talking about?

Great job Wendy---I know you are not a wimp for PT and knew you would be home sooner than they said! Schwans is a place to get food. She was looking for places that she could get decent food for BF while she was gone. http://www.schwans.com/ JO suggested it. I've seen the trucks around but never knew anyone who tried them. It does look good. Keep on racking...

So far, I've told Bf that he'll be getting his gift on Wednesday. He asked, do you want me to save it and open it on my birthday? Um...I don't think it'll last until then! Plus, when the guys shows up at his door, he'll know he can't just leave it around....

Wendy, congrats on your speedy recovery! I agree, home is best! You're more comfortable and that's important in recovery. Plus, I'm sure everyone misses you at home too!

In terms of Schwan's, I picked some pretty crappy food, but better food that he would eat on his own terms. I know you're super good about food Wendy, but Schwans does offer something called LiveSmart that may work out for you...and if you use your AmEx (which we both love) and use a promo code BY3 you get 20% off!

Here's the garbage I ordered: chicken enchiladas (4), lasagne (8), mac and cheese (8), chicken and biscuits (8), fettucine alfredo (4), cheeseburgers (10), pizza (4 large) and ice cream (16). The parentheses are how many servings, so he better be set or else! In total, including tax and delivery costs, $81!

PS...I have never been so happy for Election day. Those NJ governor commercials are driving me crazy! Where I live, I get the commercials for NY, NJ, and CT. I can't wait for it to be all over soon!

Hi all,
Thanks for the prayers for Disney. She is doing much better today. Still having trouble w/ stairs but no where near what she was last night. Poor girl! Vet said it is probably related to hip displasia which cockers are cursed by. They also keep saying what I knew they would..."This breed's average life span is 15 years. You must prepare yourself for the future." Ugh!!! I know that, just don't want to hear it. She will be 14 in Dec.

This dog is our first child. We got her at 8 weeks and looked just like Lady from Lady and The Tramp. Sooo adorable. Always a good natured dog. Never a problem. She was our refuge through 9 years of infertility treatments until the adoption. Then she was good with the kids. Often having to put up with hair pulling or sticky hands trying to pet her. I never thought you could get this attached to an animal. It just hurts to think about not seeing her around someday. :sad1:

Kitty---Sounds like you made good choices for him...lots of carbs! I would just love some mac and cheese right now. YUM!

D&D--- Disney is family. Treasure the time you still have left. I'm sure it is as hard to see her go downhill as it is a person.

Oh, D&D thank goodness your baby doggie is feeling better!

I don't care what the vet says, my babies are going to live forever!

BF is not thrilled with cats, but I told him that my fur-babies are part of the package and that I loved them before I loved him. So there. Nah.

Its amazing how good animals are with babies and kids. Far more patience than I have some days! My youngest nephew learned to walk by holding onto my black labbie. They were best friends from the start.

M&N...don't tell anyone but I had mac&cheese for lunch. yeah, I figured it would be a big waste of money to get food for Bf that I though he should eat. He does take vitamins and if he does eat I try to get him to at least pair it with some salad or some veggies. I try, but its fairly a lost cause. At least he won't go hungry.

Ok, so I have a really freaky yet entertaining story to share about my stupidity.

While at Millionaire, I'm sitting in the audience and no one is talking to me. What do I do? I start fidgeting with my face and discover a horrific zit on my jawline. Of course, its calling out to me, a challenge...I start monkeying my face. What else do I have to do?

(I know this is so gross, but I know y'all have done it too at some point).

Finally I beat the bugger and am dismayed DISMAYED that my zit has somehow produced a sesame seed.

Ok, so I am not a tree and producing seeds, but it was this little nasty bit that reminded me of a sesame seed. So I'm freaking out (and now bleeding profusely) and asking myself how I can form such a monstrosity in my 30s! I didn't even have acne in my teens!

Well, duh. I just figured it out. I fell asleep with some St. Ives apricot scrub on my face a few nights ago. I tried to wash it off as best I could when I realized it. I think that somehow my skin had absorbed some apricot scrub and formed a comedone. Nasty.

Lesson learned, though. Don't put fruit on your face and fall asleep. You'll become a tree.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:So funny!!!

Oh...I feel guilty and slightly liberated. I just un-friended someone for the first time on Facebook.

Good for you Kitty, do what YOU need!

Whatever I did, I am really sorry!!!! :scared:

Pikester - Love that chalk outline. I am laughing and I barely know the story. :rotfl2:

LITC - Cute pics! (as always!!!) :lovestruc I want another baby!!!!!

Kids went TorT yesterday. Got quite the haul.
halloweencandy.jpg
The weather was terrible. Cold and windy!!!:cold: Kids didn't seem to mind as they RAN from house to house.

D&D, thanks, I just love him! You need to come meet him! :thumbsup2

Hello everyone! I've been so busy this weekend that I barely had time to read here. Plus I've caught a cold. We went trick or treating Friday night and my two youngest each got a bag full of candy. I wasn't expected them to get so much since when we started, hardly anyone had their lights on. But I guess most people were getting a late start.

Today, we spent the afternoon putting together furniture at the new house. The girls have loft beds and we had to take them apart to get them moved.

Magikitty, I'm so glad the Schwan's idea worked for you. You will have to let me know what your BF thought of the food you ordered. I keep going back and forth about ordering from them. I think their stuff would be great for the nights I don't really have time to cook a big meal but don't want to get takeout.

Pikester, that story is so funny and the picture makes it even more so. I'm so glad you shared. I needed a laugh.

I'd love to have another baby too. Especially now that my "baby" is 6.

JOCA --sorry you aren't feeliung well, and you REALLY need to come visit Walter!

well, this has been quite a day!

my snarky roommate woke me up a bit before 6, made enuf noise to ensure that I was up, and then had the nerve to tell the nurse and anyone else who would listen that "my stupid roommate" was talking for 20 minutes (I had about a FIVE minute conversation with the nurse, certanly no louder than hers!) between that and her yelling at nurses, barking orders at them, and just generally being a royal pain in the posterior, I'd had about enough of her. So I asked the nurse (very nicely, I might add) if there were any female discharges scheduled today. Yes, there was 1, so I asked if I could have the bed.

Well, here I am in my nice new room. The room is huge--one entire wall is windows! Way more room to move around in. Plus my roommate is a very nice hispanic lady with a lovely family who were all very friendly to me. When she heard me telling the nurse about my old roommate, she was appalled. She couldnt believe it either! I am just sooooo glad to be away from that witch!

I took several nice long walks in the halls today. I am doing pretty well with walking. But the bending machine is giving me trouble. Yesterday I got up to 90 degrees, last night and today I could barely get to 70. Whats up with that?? I am concerned becuase I really need more bend. Gotta ask the doctor what I had in the OR' Meanwhile, more activity is causing more pain, so Ive been taking lots of Percocet. Also drinking a TON of water, since I am majorly thirsty for some reason. Fortunately, I can get myself up and walk to the bathroom, which I am doing often.

Tonite I washed my hair in the sink. It felt soooooooo good! I think the nurse thought I was nuts when I asked if I could do it, and at first she said no, but when she realized what I wanted to do she said ok as long as I was careful, which I was. Nothing like clean hair to boost the spirits! A real shower is still a long way off, so this will have to do for now.

Well, time to go back on "the rack" for more bending...

Wendy so sorry you had such a nasty roommate, what flew up her butt?? :rolleyes1

Good evening ladies. Got a brief moment to stop in and say high today before bedtime. What is up with the Dis? I have not been getting notifications lately. Guess I should know to check things out myself. Anyway, I see everyone has been busy.

We went to see Michael Jackson's "This Is It" movie today. It was okay. Interesting to see all the work that went into making one of his concerts but would have enjoyed it even more if if had included some documentary on his life. He had a beautiful voice and was an amazing entertainer. I am not so sure my DS would agree. I think he feels as though he has been traumatized after sitting for almost 2 hours listening to so much POP music.

I want to lose weight but I don't want to be a depressed zombie to do it.

Gotta run. Hopefully I will be back in the morning.

Marie good to see you, hope you are feeling better soon, maybe you just need time to adjust to the meds?????
I doubt I will see the MJ movie until red box rental gets it. I like his 80's music, and respect his work but am not a huge fan.

D&D, will send prayers for the doggie-doo!! I am so attached to our baby (dog) that we had for 10 years before the baby. I feel so bad now when she is staring at me and I cant play because of the baby, but I think she loves him.

Well I went back to work today. All day yesterday I spent :sad1:. The day wasn't too bad, and it went really fast, but I am still really upset that we weren't able to get a situation worked out so I could stay home. So I bought some lotto tix for the week, keep your fingers crossed for me, maybe I can win big! Not smart enough to go on millionaire like our fearless leader!

OK, that has GOT to be a typo! All that food for $81??? Eighty one? If that is correct, its amazing!

As far as the elections go, I agree 100%. Between Corzine/Christie/Dagget in NJ and Bloomberg/Thompson in NY, I am totally sick of it all. I voted over a month ago by absentee ballotsince I knew I was having surgery.

D&D, I am so sorry about your fur baby! Just love him as much as you can for as long as you can. I know he's family. I can't bear to even think about when Duke is no longer with me. Thankfully he's only 6.

OK girls, can I vent please? Right now I am seriously pissed at my BFF. She
s had my kids most of the time Ive been in the hospital, which has really helped alot. Supposedly she checked with them on Friday about what homework they had over the weekend, and again today about what they have for Wednesday (they have off tomorrow). Well, I just got an email from DSs language arts teacher. Apparently they had a poem due today and he did not turn it in. Its worth 30 points, so he really needs to turn it in Wednesday. I called BFF to ask about it (DS hadnt answered his phone) and she said no, he just has a little math. So I told her about the email, and asked to speak to DS. He admitted that the poem was due Wednesday, but when I said it had been due TODAY, he said alot of people forgot, so they could turn it in Weds. Then I asked about the HUGE language arts project that is due Wednesday, and he said he can't do it there becuase he doesn't have his computer, and the stuff he needs is on HIS computer. He says it will take 15 minutes to do it tomorrow night, which means it will probably take 2 hours to do it right. So, I asked to speak to BFF. He gives her the phone and she hangs up. I call back, and shes not paying any attention to what I'm trying to tell her, and when I ask her, she tells me its not a good time and she'll have to call me back! Excuse me? Theres a problem with my kid and you cant talk to me right now? I am NOT happy! Plus, she takes this attitude like shes all superior. She does this alot and it bugs me, but this time it really pissed me off. Maybe I'm being super sensitive becuase of meds or something, but it bothers me alot. So thanks for letting me vent!

Well, what DS doesnt realize is that he sent me his assignment by email so I could print it out. I am gonna check and if its still there I will email it to HER so he can work on it tomorrow.

On top of all this, the Yankees are playing badly tonite and will probably end up losing. Oh well, I said all along Yankees in 6...

Wendy, you're totally in the right being upset with your BFF about what's going on with the assignment. She's been entrusted with the well-being of your children while you're recovering, and she needs to take that very seriously, both for you and for the kids.

Wow, teachers email now? I am so glad I'm not in school anymore.

What's going on with the Yankees tonight? I fell asleep last night during the 8th inning and I missed all the good stuff that happened. I think its me. I'll stop watching the game and they'll turn it around.

Yup...absolutely true. $81 for the food. That 20% totally rocked it!

 LITC..sorry you had to go back to work so soon and you felt so badly about it. Listen, you win the lotto and I'll get called back to Millionaire and our lives will be all set! Double crossing my fingers for all my ladies to have good luck in all aspects of their lives....

Thanks MK. I really appreciate the support! Yes, teachers email now. Makes it SO much easier to communicate! That $81 is amazing! I checked out their website and they have some nice stuff. Too much sodium for me in most cases tho.

LITC, that stinks about going back to work. I hope you are able to work something out. I wouldn't want to leave that precious little cutie either!!

6-1. *sigh* well, theres always tomorrow. I think I'll go take a walk...

Wendy---vent all you want about your BFF not taking the responsibility of homework BUT leave the Phillies doing a good job out of it! :rotfl: My Mom's feeling a little down with how bad they have been playing. A 78 yr old lady needs a little happiness too!:rolleyes1:laughing:

Good morning ladies!

M&N...congrats to your and your Mom on the Phillies win last night...on to Game 6!

I think I'm mostly packed. I go back and forth on what clothes to bring. I know its going to be hot, so I've packed mostly tees and shorts, but who knows what sort of terrain I'll encounter after all the flooding last month? I suppose if I have to, I can purchase anything that I haven't brought (only I have to shop in the Men's department since the girls are so tiny there)....

Let's have a good day everyone!

Morning all:

Hope everyone is feeling OK today...it's flu central in my area. Only have Kate home today, which is a nice change. Her fever is gone but she has a nasty cough now, so can't go to school. I'm going to stop over there later today and get so homework for her to do. Seems like all the kids are sick everything from H1N1 to croop (sp?) I'll be glad when this flu season is over...they are still only giving the shot to high risk people but may start on the rest of us next week.

D&D ~ Hope puppy is better today:hug:

Frozen meals delivered to your door sounds like a great deal!

Afraid I don't watch baseball...I assume Phillies are in the lead??

Have a good day ladies.
TTYL

whgrn Sorry about your BFF, but she may have had her own crisis at that particular moment? Not saying that your DS's homework isn't important but she may have other worries also. Hopefully everything gets straightened out today. :flower3: (Sorry have to root for the PHILLIES )
MagiKitty What a deal! No point in buying food he won't eat. ;) (I know, I've tried).
LITC Although it is sad to leave the little one, I'm sure you'll make up for it when you are home.:goodvibes You are not alone, many of us had to go back to work. I had to go back after just 6 weeks.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Perish the thought!!! Yanks lead the series 3-2.and will clinch the title tomorrow night then they win. If you listen closely, you may be able to hear me scream with joy!!:lmao::lmao:

OK, everyone keep your germs to yourselves!! I managed to escape so far, and would much prefer to continue my good fortune in fighting off the flu.

The really exciting news is, I'm HOME!!! Arrived a little over an hour ao. It feels like heaven! At this point, I can barely keep my eyes open. Time for a little nap...

Hi all,

Dis' is doing about the same today - walking wise that is. Unfortunately, she developed some diarrhea over the night and I woke up to quite the mess. :crazy2: as I came down the stairs in the dark. What a way to start the day. Poor pup. Not sure what's going on now.

Kitty - If I don't get back on, I just want to wish you a great trip, Happy TG and safe return. We'll miss you. So proud of all you are doing over there. Give those kids a big hug from us and tell them your friends back in the states love them! :lovestruc

Whgrn - Welcome home! Glad you are doing well. So sorry about your BFF. Hope you can work things out.

LITC - Would love to come visit baby Walter (and you of course.) Maybe some day we can arrange for that. Or, you could bring him to WI for a nice summer vacation.

M&N - My DS7 is cheering for the Phillies and hoping they pull off two wins.

Wouldn't it be neat if we could all get web-cams and have a virtual get together??? Skype???? Maybe all have drinks and chat live??? Let's think about that:scratchin

Yeah on being home!

I'm tired...worked hard today subbing. Kids were not too bad. But the throat feels a little dry after all the talking. Not many were coughing or acted sick. The principal at another school has the swine flu.
