TKers: Six threads under and still killin' time....

Morning M&N...I don't usually watch DTWS, but I've seen some people discussing the cast on Tv and most people are excited for it. I just don't know how Kate is going to do it...but that lady is a go-getter and she'll figure it out! So, who's going to be your favorite?

I have a collection of stuffed Hello Kittys that were part of a promo from McDonalds years ago. They're 8 inches tall and come in pairs of Hello Kitty and her boyfriend Dear Daniel. My friend Quincy and I went all over town, to every McDonalds we could, to complete the collection. After about the fifth one, I pledged my undying love and friendship to him. A grown man going about town with armfuls of Hello Kitty a funny site!

Morning! I just cannot get motivated here. And I even went to bed early....or at least before M&N.

I haven't decided on a favorite yet for DWTS. But I can tell you who DH's favorite is. I just wonder if she is going to have any wardrobe malfunctions.

Is Kate still doing her book tours?

I would imagine she's still doing speaking engagements...those are the big money! They get thousands of dollars for a few hours work!

My friend used to work for Cornell University...they were trying to get Hillary Clinton to speak (coz you know she used to work for the people of NY) and she wanted $25K for it! Isn't that incredible? To value yourself that much and to attempt to charge an educating institution that much money...essentially taking that money away from their budget and programs for the students. Cornell passed on it.

I have not kept up with Kate. There's a thread just for her and DWTS. It sounded like it was getting 'judgemental' so watch out! She's building a dance studio so she can practice at home is what I heard.
I was up emailing my cousin (by marriage) in VA. I really hadn't met her too many times. She is so sweet. She just confessed why she does not get along with her hubby's sister. She was afraid to tell me but figured she should. I could relate to what she said. Hey---that's not my problem. I've always enjoyed the times we've met.

Not to get into a who's better parenting debate about Jon and Kate because I think the both suck in my opinion. But if she is still doing her speaking engagements and now DWTS, when does she have time for her children? I have 4 and they just about run me into the ground. I've read that being on the show is not easy with lots and lots of practice.

Is Jon with the kids? Or is he still too busy out running around with college girls to be bothered?

M&N...I'm very very blessed. I wouldn't say I have a lot of friends, but those I have are just the sort of people everyone should have in their lives. I know that I"m not the friendliest or most approachable person by far, and I have issues when meeting people and making friends. But once I have a friend, I value it very much. Friendship means a lot to me.

Strangely enough, I haven't seen much coverage on how Jon is handling it. I would hope that he would take advantage of this time and spend it with the young ones. And even with help, 8 young kids is a lot! I don't know how parents do it, its just amazing to get everything done and taken care of....

I have not been reading the thread lately so I don't know. My friend's son told her when the kids are brought to school by Kate, there are 2 other adults. When Jon took them, he had 4 others. They still go to the private school in Lancaster.

I am basically a shy person with people I don't know. It was a big step for me to meet JO! Glad I did though...almost posted without writing that!

I don't follow them much either anymore. I got really tired of how they seemed to have their priorities all messed up and felt really sorry for the kids.

You could tell in later years how the show was affecting the twins. And if you watch the earliest shows, they look and act like completely different people. Its strange how they want to protect their children's privacy, yet conduct themselves in such a manner that it will haunt their children as they grow older.

I was hesitant about meeting M&N too. And I know DH thought I was nuts at the time. But it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

MK, on average you burn 100 calories per 15 minutes of snow shoveling.

Yeah---I can remember us just kind of looking at each other and by 5 min we were chatting away.

Did you see Niecy Nash was on DWTS? She's funny...

Why is it if you disagree with someone you are being judgemental? Don't we all have our morals, ideas of right vs wrong? Where is tolerance of other's opinions. I think Kate is selfish...I would not act like her...but it's her life. If she screws up her kids, she'll have to answer for that. But I certainly have a right to call her a screwball or whatever...my opinion. I'm not judging her...I don't give out the punishment for her actions. (OK...stepping off soapbox!)

Hi everyone!
Going to be 68 today and into the 70s tomorrow.
I feel better, now the nose will start to run and I will cough for the next month. It always goes like that.
Dh is trying to tweek the travel plans so I can stop to say hi to D&DDisney. Of course he just calls her "one of your Disney people".
