Carpica will be on Friday nights, but I'm sure they'll run in again sometime during the week, SyFy seems to do that a lot.

My gushing about Caprica has FINALLY brought my BF around. Usually, he just brushes off my science fiction tendencies...this is all stemmed from the fact that he's a Star Trek fan and I'm Star Wars. He liked Caprica and is willing to commit to it. I can't tell you how attractive I find it!

Evening!!! Been a horrible,horrible day here. DD8 got sick early Sunday morning, sick all day yesterday and missed school today. This afternoon, both DD6 and DD13 are sick. I mean really, really sick. I am living in a house of puke. And DH was suppose to be home today but he got called into work this afternoon. He's finally home and all I want to do is hide in a corner somewhere.

But I see we have some great news here. DL55 You're gonna make it to Hershey!!!!

Hey MK! We had take out Friday night but I don't think that's it. DS and I are both fine. They all have fevers too. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that this is over quick.

Did you have Chinese food? Was there fried rice? Is there something going around at school?

Just keep everyone hydrated and try to keep their fevers down. And you keep healthy as much as possible! I'm sending you extra strength!

DH stopped on the way home and picked up some pedialyte and I'm even making DD13 drink it even though it's technically for little kids. Gave them all some tylenol and they are all camped out in the living room with us.

I suspect it's something at school. That many kids in one place, someone is bound to have something so pass around.

Pedialyte is a good idea. You can also have them drink Gatorade if you have it. Or orange juice. Its just hard to get them to keep it down.

OJ even though it's acidic? I knew about the gatorade and was planning on walking over to the mini-market tomorrow to get some but maybe I should pick up so OJ too.

OJ has a lot of potassium, which needs to be replaced if someone is vomiting. Gatorade has lots too. Both OJ and gatorade will do the job. It just depends on what the kids are willing to drink. These days too, its easier to find gatorade on sale compared to orange juice and those sports drinks are formulated to replace electrolytes.

I didn't know that about OJ. I'll pick some of that up then too. Just to give the kids a variety to pick from. Will probably make them more agreeable to trying to drink more if they have a choice of what it is.

I posted my news on FB. We had lots of rain and my neighbor's tree fell over...thankfullu toward the street and over the power lines...not toward my garage. As it was I could not get in the garage until they put the wires back up. We didn't loose electricity until PP&L came to fix it. So I read gfrom 1:30 mto almost 4...that is in between taking pics and looking out the front window. I don't have my camera cord or I would post some. I could not get the card to download. My computer may be too old for tha kind of card I have now???

My kids always want Ginger Ale and Saltine Crackers when they are sick. Seems to work for them.

I've heard about drinking Gatorade but I think that stuff is nasty tasting.

I always associate gingerale with being sick!

I cannot watch SyFy on Fri nights at Mom's. She hates it. I know I have seen that show some other time. Maybe a marathon during a day...

My parents always gave me ginger ale and dry toast when I was sick. Always worked wonders to calm my stomach. Unfortunately, my like neither ginger ale or dry toast.

I hate gatorade too. It is one of the nastiest things I've ever had the displeasure to drink. The kids like it though and as long as they are drinking something, that's all I care about.

M&N, we have quite a few big trees in front of our house. I am so surprised that we didn't lose a few branches today.

Mom was excited...she heard Jimmie Johnson was going to get a new job! (She does not like him.) She watched the show to find out he wants his pic on an ice cream carton so is opening a shop! I asked her where but they apparently did not say or she was so disappointed she didn't hear that part!

I don't blame your mom for being disappointed...I would have been to if that was the big news they were waiting to announce.

There's a NASCAR show on SPEED called Hub. I saw it tonight. They seem excited about the rules changing about bump drafting being allowed and not calling them down for aggressive driving. Maybe now we'll get some good fights going.
