TKers: Six threads under and still killin' time....

Gee, I will still have 2 hours to go after you all hit midnight.
My big plan is to watch the Rose Parade. I've actually been on the street that it goes down but never have seen it live. I just don't care to sleep on sidewalks. Plus I've heard since high school that the crowds were very nasty to those in the parade. :sad2: After the parade...football.

The neighbors were letting of fireworks earlier. They may even do more at midnight.

Sleeping in and doing nothing. DH and DS12 are going out to help DH's mother. She broke her wrist the other day and needs help putting away her Christmas decorations. That poor woman has enough to deal with helping her husband with his health issues and now this.

MK, our city actually does a big non-alcoholic NYE party. It's called First Night and it gives families a place to to all together to celebrate the New Year. They will set off fireworks at 6pm, for those who won't make it to midnight, and again at midnight. It seems like a nice alternative to those who want to do something but need to be with their kids as well.

Or you could look at it this way, Asia and Australia welcomed 2010 about 12 hours ago...we don't have to wait for anything then! Happy New Year!

I will probably make it til our time. We are night owls anyway. DH and DD just got through watching up and are going through all the bonus features.

Tomorrow DH is looking forward to sleeping in so it is gonna get off to a late start. We have several choices.... go watch our 4 year old GS ride in his first playday or go to our elders 80th birthday party or take our adopted granny out to lunch or take DS to see the Sherlock movie. Guess we will flip a coin!

Why is Ryan Seacrest everywhere? He doesn't entertain me at all.

Marie, that list of possibilities just made me so tired! Sounds like such a busy day! Did everyone like Up? I didn't see the extras.

I think I'll say bye for now. Those back east probably want to wish in the new year with any family members still awake. ;)
Thanks for being a great group and have a Happy new Year!

DH gave me a "Date in a box" for Christmas. No, not one of those! Get those dirty minds out of the gutter.. It was a GC for a restaurant, a GC for the movies and a small poster of the Sherlock Holmes movie. He also asked his Mom if she would watch the kids sometime this weekend so we could go.

On the show on NBC earlier, they had a nice salute to the soldiers. I thought that was a classy thing to do.

Pikester, that gift is absolutely precious! What a great idea. Applause for DH!

Whenever I see Ryan all I can think of is the guy who co-hosted the first American Idol and is no where to be seen. Man did he get screwed!

I think they liked Up. I still haven't watched the whole thing.

Pikester, that sounds like a very sweet gift.

Two minutes! Everyone get your glasses and noisemakers ready!

(BF is in the bathroom...he's going to miss it! Darn bladder of his!)

Pikester, that was an awesome gift. Your DH rocks!!

Does anyone miss having Dick Clark host the NYE celebration?
