Dick Clark was on very briefly last year at midnight. It was kinda sad to see him like that. But he's come such a long way.

(I"m so glad we started this thread last night and not tonight!)

Guess I am signing off for now too. The troops are calling me in to help them get rid of the terrorists.

If I don't make it back tonight I hope everyone has a wonderful first day of the new year!

Can I go to bed now? I can't believe that you guys do this every night.

Happy New Year everyone! It was wonderful sharing this with you.

Goodnight and goodluck! Hugs from me to all of you! Happy 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

May everyone have a wonderful, safe and happy new year.

Love you all!!!!

There are doing fireworks over the mountain. I can't see anything. I just know morf will be up at the same time. In about 3 1/2 hrs.

Good-night

Thanks for being my friends :grouphug:

Saw this posted somewhere else tonight and it just seemed very fitting.....

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

Good morning all. :headache: I was right, morf was right on time, 2:50a. I fed him and a couple of minutes later out the door he went. 7:15 felt real good . Heading for breakfast in a little bit.

Hope I found something y'all like.;)

Hope you made one of those for me too...like the fruity ones with umbrellas!

I'm here, still disgruntled by the lack of New Year's programming so far. Can't decide if I want to be disgusted by the appalling behavior of Jersey Shore or continue being confused by the movie Revolutionary Road.

The only fruity drink I have is either water with lemon or orange soda.

OK I know Dick Clark is an institution and all...but watching him try to do the countdown was painful.

Pikester, so did you have any of the Lindt WHITE chocolate balls? Those are fabulous! Dh gave me 2 boxes of Whitman's for Christmas but not even the stuff I really like. Guess it didn't really matter. He ate most of it anyway!

DH knows better than buy me anything but Lindts...I got both white and milk chocolate...unfortunately I asked for perfume so rather than buy what I wear he went to the drug store and bought a gift box of L'air de Temps...I hate it!

You guys are too fast! By the time I type, you are on another subject.

Just noticed I finally have 1500 posts.

Congrats!!

What's on everybody agenda for tomorrow? Dh wants to go to breakfast. I guess all of the stores are open too. Maybe a trip to Michaels Craft and Penneys. I have gift cards to spend.

We are heading back to our friends (where we had dinner last night) for brunch then dinner & hot tub with our neighbours....that is if we can get through the snow...it's really coming down out there.

Gee, I will still have 2 hours to go after you all hit midnight.
My big plan is to watch the Rose Parade. I've actually been on the street that it goes down but never have seen it live. I just don't care to sleep on sidewalks. Plus I've heard since high school that the crowds were very nasty to those in the parade. :sad2: After the parade...football.

I know it's the national championship and all but it sucks that they've moved the Rose Bowl game...we always watch it and the parade.

MK, our city actually does a big non-alcoholic NYE party. It's called First Night and it gives families a place to to all together to celebrate the New Year. They will set off fireworks at 6pm, for those who won't make it to midnight, and again at midnight. It seems like a nice alternative to those who want to do something but need to be with their kids as well.

They did first night in Toronto when I lived there...not sure if they still do.

Hope everyone has a great first day of 2010...all the best to all the Tkers!!

Happy good first morning of 2010!

Last night was so much fun! My kitty was so excited for the new year he kept me up all the rest of the night with his antics. Nothing a little coffee won't solve (for now).

It snowed last night some more but its kinda bright at the moment. But if Ev's getting some snow, I may have some in my future too. Ah, what can I do? Its winter, it happens.

Totally missed Dick Clark last night...did anyone see him?

Having fun working in the round foods. Had a roll this morning and an orange. Lunch is going to be more of a challenge.

Why do they do that? Nothing worse than getting imitation gifts for something you really wanted. I dropped plenty of hints for next year but no doubt my DH will forget AGAIN by next year.
He did buy me house shoes like I requested. They even fit! However, they leave black fuzzies all over my feet. When I take them off I look like my feet are turning into a werewolf!

Hope everyone has a wonderful first day of 2010. I wonder how many months it will take for me start writing that correctly? :confused3

Got this this morning. Here's the year 2009 in review:

Happy 2010 Everyone!!

OMG, I cannot believe we are on page 14 already! Y'all were awfully chatty last night! I wish I'd been able to join you, but I had a house full of guests. We had a blast just laughing and talking and eating. Fortunately, I had nice guests who helped me clean up afterwards, so I won't have to do any cleaning today. (hmmm, I think I like that rule!) Everyone left a little after 1, and I was in bed by 2. We all slept until 10 this morning, which was nice. Now the kids are with their father, and I have a day of peace and quiet. I got all the kids' camp forms filled out, signed, and ready to mail tomorrow. Gotta keep on top of this stuff!

I was chuckling reading some of your posts last night, especially about golf. MK I can't imagine YOU getting kicked off a golf course!:rotfl2: That's something *I* would totally do though!

If you don't have polka dots, you can eat 12 round items, like grapes or crackers, representing each of the months. I'm picking out round items from my trail mix at the moment! Its good to start the new year with hopes and dreams....

12 round items? I've had at least 12 DOZEN M&Ms, does that count?:lmao:

You're suppose to poke holes in the bottoms and then put them back.

BTW: My Dad hated that.

My Mom always used to do that! If she didn't like what she found, it went back in the box for my sister and me. I'm quite the chocolate snob. I like Hersheys, and ONLY Hersheys. No Godiva or Russel Stovers or anything else for me! Well, I DO like the Lindt truffles, especially the mint and the peanut butter ones. but other than that, I'm a Hersheys purist!

Well, I'm off to read on FB--it'll probably take me 3 hours to catch up over there!

Dick looked bad...he really has to pass the torch on to someone new...not sure Ryan Seacrest is the right choice though.

I shouldn't complain I got a real nice pair of suede slipper and lots of other goodies...I just find it funny how perfume is all the same to him. Our first Christmas he bought me dishes, they were the ugliest things I'd ever seen turquoise and brown  but when I suggested changing them for a different colour he was so disappointed that I kept them...I guess I'll have to suck it up and wear the perfume too!!

Still snowing here MK I'll send it your way!

OK can someone please explain the Bowl Games to me...because of my neighbours, I knew that Alabama was playing at the Rose Bowl...so I'm all set to watch it today...get told they play next week...so I think Rose Bowl game is now delayed a week but no they're playing that game today...so are there two Rose Bowl games???? I'm so confused!!

Since we've been talking about chocolate and someone mentioned that their DH bought them something different from what they were suppose to I'll had a story about the two.

DH usually takes the kids out to buy me Birthday or Christmas gifts. I have no problem getting chocolate as a gift but what irritated me on one birthday was getting a bar of Dark Chocolate. I HATE DARK CHOCOLATE! I like Milk Chocolate. Always have. At the time we had been married for over 10 years and when did I ever say I liked DC. He told me that the kids picked it out. So what! He couldn't take a look at it and say "Boys, Mom doesn't like DC how about we put it back and get some MC".

Sorry about that. I got hot just remembering.:goodvibes

I think most women (I said most not all;)) look at their DHs giving them gifts as proof that the Hubbies are listening to them.

Haven't done a whole lot today. Slept in, played with the Wii and I've done a couple of chores that just couldn't wait until tomorrow. I tried really hard Magikitty.
