Ok, I just went to the Main Stay website for the Grantsville, PA hotel and checked prices for a 5 night stay at the best available rate and it came up $105 a night (before taxes)

LITC, I only paid 98 a night with AAA but I'm only staying 2 nights. How long is the drive from you?

Good morning ladies! Its a bright day again here, but it looks like the lower half of the country is getting slammed with a nasty storm. Really, this winter has been so remarkable and unpredicatable.

When I made my ressies for the Mainstay, I also got $94/wed, thurs, and my Fri night stay went up to $104. I also used a AAA discount. Do you have AAA, LITC?

Glad to hear that Walter is doing better. But you need to get some rest and feel better too LITC!

The weather channel says Punxsutawney Phil will NOT see his shadow! It's to be cloudy there...but they did say with all the media's cameras, he probably will see a shadow!

Saw the comics this am. Anyone know the little baby named Marvin? He was talking to a groundhog sticking out of the hole...asking if he was the famous Punxsutawney Phil. The groundhog replies he is his no so famous cousin Pottstown Pete. This was funny to me because that's east of me! We actually have one in Lancaster County too---Octoraro Orphie is in Quarryville.

LITC, that is so strange about the hotel website. I just checked and found rooms for 109. And that was just using their best rate available which I think anyone can use.

M&N, yes you do. They need to copy down your membership number or something.

I have never had to show my AAA card, although I do have one. I did check the website with my AAA and the prices have gone up since we made our ressies a few weeks back. We should keep our eyes on it though, sometime promos come out. And since we're staying during the week, prices may change depending on demand.

I put in to check in on June 23 and check out on June 25. They had rooms with a king bed, non-smolking, with flat screen tv and coffee maker in room.

I had the same question LITC! No its just a ressie, the charge you upon check in.

No, I think they only do a courtesy charge of a $1.00 to make sure the card is good. Mine was taken off after a day or 2.

And I think you can cancel up until the Sunday before without any penalty.

Exactly, I just asked my husband how a non-disney hotel charges, we usually stop somewhere on the way but we just pull in and pay.
