She will find you when you least expect it. :rotfl: Like when you are talking about socks or being a dork. :rotfl:

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

We spent the afternoon at a picnic at Curt's sister's house. The kids had a great time and didn't fight one time the entire time we were there. I seriously debated just leaving them there.

I watched the Hot Dog Eating contest and was disappointed with the lack of coverage for anybody but the top 3 guys. I understand they have to cover Joey Chestnut but I do wish they would have panned the camera out more. Of course, I have the same gripe about race coverage too.

Awesome, deals Marie.

Happy July 4th everyone! Its going to be hot here. I'm going to have to get the kiddie pool out for the fuzzy ones.

JO--I'm glad you and the family were able to have a nice get together!

I agree with the hot dog contest. I honestly had a difficult time watching it, but it was really interesting. I wish they had shown more of the other contestants too. I mean, it was such an honor for all of them to make it to that level of competition.

Watched the fireworks on tv last night. Surprisingly didn't hear much going off around her. Usually, if there are, the kitties go running around the house in terror. Right now, they've just planted themselves in front of the AC and are enjoying the breeze.

That's fantastic! Where are you looking at to eat?

Feel like this
Wish I was doing this or thisI guess I could hit the beach but I'm not feeling that well so it's gonna have to be the recliner with a fan.

Hey Pike! It was sweltering here too. Got the hose out and washed the deck, the dog, and myself in the process. Got my whites on the line and made the sun and humidity work for me. Gorged myself on delicious watermelon. Not going to do much else either.

After all your talk of watermelon I just had to buy one yesterday when I went shopping. I bought a small seedless and we had it with dinner last night. Had a little more today. So juicy!

Just watched the news and they're talking of a week or longer for these HOT temps. The weatherman even said it could get up to 100 in some places. I can't remember the last time it was this hot!

I'm sorry, but really, the watermelons have been spectacular this year. So have the cherries. I have blueberries for later tonight. Haven't had those this season yet.

Its supposed to get worse the next couple of days. I can't imagine it! We don't usually push 90* and over until sometime mid-August. Its just insane. I have a few outdoor concerts coming up later this month and I really hope it cools down some. It'll be hard to enjoy when its that hot out there.

Evening! I guess I'm the only one who enjoyed the hot weather today.

The in-laws have put off moving in one more day. :cool1: They are not even here and they are driving me insane already. This is going to be a long few months. But since MIL has been staying with Curt's sister, she is looking much better. And I keep telling myself that is what is important.

So, Mere, where did you make your ADR's for?

MK, Curt bought one of those little seedless melons last week. Ate half of it in one sitting.

Good afternoon ladies! Holidays are fine and dandy but after a long weekend of fighting kids and a %^%@$$%^ husband.... I am ready for things to get back to normal tomorrow!

Kitty, thanks for your input on watching airfare sales. Glad you liked the house in Florida. You know you could always stay there too. I don't guess there is any rule you have to fill up all the bedrooms if the price is right.
I do use ebates but more often lately it seems that I can find a better rebate from one of the survey sites.

LITC, just put in my daily vote for Captain Adorable. How long does the contest run? Hard to believe Walter is almost a year old!

Ev, were you swooning with the other ladies? I bet the sound of bagpipes was very lovely! Nice to have such music piped in for free in your backyard!

Jo, have you made any progress with your vacation planning? It might be a blessing that Curt doesn't add his 2 cents. That way you get to make sure you do all the things you want to!
Wow! I am impressed! Kids that don't fight? I really need to know your secret!

Kerrie, hope you enjoyed the fireworks!
Not only is the grass growing from the rain here but we are now in the middle of the annual invasion of the giant bugs from hell! No one around here has even been using the front door for the past week. Needless to say the front yard is getting pretty ragged looking cause there ain't nobody going to volunteer to mow while those things are burrowing holes in the ground!

D&D, that really stinks that your neighbors haven't got enough sense to shoot firecrackers away from your house! Some people! :sad2: Glad you were able to enjoy the 4th with your family and get to work on the kid's pool.
Please do keep us posted on what we can do to help! Baskets, toys.... just let me know!
Helen seems to be doing better. I will be glad when we are through with the ear medicine so she can get back to being soft and fluffy like Martha. Right now she looks greasy on half of her body but how do you teach a guinea pig to not rub the stuff everywhere? All this special attention for the poor pitiful piggie has earned her a special place in Emma's affections. She is actually turning out to be the more affectionate of the two so it's pretty easy for her to like her best.

Lilmiss, you are a brave girl heading to the park for New Years! And congrats on getting to make your ADRs!

Pikester, hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Marie for the voting (and everyone else also!!). The voting continues until 7/31. So keep voting if you can!
I can't believe he will be 1 so soon either. It truly truly makes me want to cry.

I hear you LITC! I can't believe my first born is going to be 13 in October! Where did the years go?

Hi Marie! I should be feeling better in a few more days if you get what I'm saying.

Hey Pike, Geez I can't imagine Walter that big and up running doing his own thing!

I get it, hope you do feel better soon, just finishing up here......

LITC....did you have to bring up thinking of new name???? Thinking of a new name is too much thinking for a holiday weekend. :lmao:

And yay, I remember to vote today. I am debating about trying to register with the multitude of other email addresses I have. ;)

Pikester, I can't believe how time flies either. Curtis will be 18 in January (whole different story that you all know) but still makes me old and sad. And Jackie will be 15 in February. She'll be driving before we know it.

Marie, the kids didn't fight because we weren't home. They are angels everywhere else. As soon as we got in the van, they were fighting over who had the most space on the bench seat in the van. I honestly debated about leaving them at Curt's sister's house.

Good morning ladies! Another hot one here. Everyone try to stay cool and hydrated.

So I've been eating blueberries and its not nearly as satisfying as my lover Mr. Watermelon. I haven't done anything with the berries though. I've just been eating them plain. Perhaps some whipped cream will jazz them up.

So BF and I watched the train wreck of an "interview" on the Bachelorette between Vienna and Jake. I never even watch the show, but all the hype had me intrigued. I thought Vienna came off as a crazy-head, but understandably so. She was upset due to the breakup of her highly public relationship. Jake came off as completely callous and heartless. He really didn't care. It was entertaining and just a little bit scary.

I'm trying to convince myself to go out. I have to go to the post office. One of my dolls was maimed by my friend Quincy when he was here and I"m sending her to the doll hospital. Its my precious Miss Piggy doll that I've fallen in love with and was really upset when Quincy ripped her arm off. He's offered to pay for her surgery.

But goodness if it isn't hot as Hades out there.
