Glad you are still here Pepper. Wouldn't want to loose those post counts and have to start over...:rolleyes1

Gee, that must be so horrible if someone had to do that. I couldn't even imagine.

I've heard of Wendy Williams but that's about it.

I just stay away from most things on the user CP section here. I can change my siggie but that's about it.

I hope it's not raining tomorrow...I'll have to go and get mom for her hair appointment. I have one too. She lives 20 min beyond the mall. I really don't mind but I told her she would not melt! I know...not a nice thing to say to a 79 yr old but she knew I was teasing. She has to walk 2-3 blocks for the bus. She hasn't slept well the last 2 nights.

Tonight another friend and I took my friend who had the stroke out to eat. We had soup, some little hamburgers in a little pretzel roll, and onion rings. She was glad to get out. She is so thankful for the prayers and well wishes. I take her to a dr on Fri am. She has a heart monitor on for a day. She still cannot see completely. She says it is just hard to describe what she sees. Most of it is black. She cannot read or watch tv. What do you do with yourself all day? I just cannot imagine. We teased her about cleaning...things just don't look as dirty. She can just see the clean parts. She did seem to be in a better frame of mind but I only pray that it lasts.

Night...

M&N, continued prayers to your friend. And you are such a good friend. So many people will back away when a friend has suffered from a medical problem. Or any kind of problem. But you never do. Believe me, I know that.

Have a nice night. I'll see you tomorrow.

Jenn, I have 2 cousins that are close in age and we always passed clothes down between us too. Such is the life in a big family.

pepper, are you trying to confuse us? You know it doesn't take much for some of us. :lmao:

How did you like all those fart threads earlier? I swear I have never seen so many at one time.

exactly.. typical for my big typical italian family.. hehe

The bad news keeps rolling...all the library aides in my district do not have a job next year---budget cuts! This includes my friend who had the stroke! She has a wonderful attitude..put in in God's hands. She also needs insurance for now. District said she may qualify for some disability because of her vision. Hopefully she could also get her husband to get insurance from his job---hers was better so they were on hers. Anyway keep them in your prayers...it does help!

Good morning ladies...it was raining really hard about 30 minutes ago but now its crazy bright out there. I wear sunscreen while at my desk.

M...I am so sorry to hear about your friends' situations! Re: friend's vision, with some inflammation, those itty-bitty nerves will be "cut off", and her vision may have some recovery once the swelling goes down. I hope that is the case. Sounds like she has a great attitude--and of course a great friend in you.

I will pray for your friends and their looming futures. Its a terrible time we live in when the schools are hit so hard and districts are losing fantastic people. We need library aides! They're helping foster a love of reading and books. They're life changers.

Morning Ladies:

Just sitting sipping my coffee and planning my day....(from Timmies of course)

M ~ that's terrible about your friend, it really sucks that your health is tied to your job like that especially with the economy being the way it is!

Morning! Looks like rain is moving on in here.

M&N, hugs to your friend. I'm so sorry she is going through all this at the same time.

2 of the major school districts here have been cutting jobs left and right along with a bunch of programs and sports. And unless they get their budgets under control, I don't see where it's going to end.

Good morning ladies!

My prayers to those with sicknesses, job losses and other problems. It's a crazy world we live in where there's always some of the not so good stuff going on. On the other hand there is usually something good going on too. For example, this week my dear friend was mourning the 13th anniversary of her daughter's death yet on the very same day another of my friends just came back home with their new adopted son.

It's beautiful outside here this morning so I thought I would try to brighten the day. I brought flowers for everyone.... fresh out of my garden! I hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Marie - Those iris are beautiful!!!! I envy your garden right now. I'm patietly waiting to plant mine. The days have been warm (70s-80s) but the nights are still frosty.

I see M&N is shamelessly racking up posts. :sad2: some people!!!

M&N - That's such a shame about the library aide cuts. Our school district is cutting a lot of teaching jobs and the private school I am working at may be cutting a few too. We may/may not get our contracts next week.
Such a bad sign of the times.
I am still praying for your friend. Please tell her we're thinking of her and wishing her well.

Hey Pepper, Ev, Pikester, JO, Kitty and anyone else I missed. :wave2:

Marie...those flowers are gorgeous! They came out of your garden?! You are very talented.

Ok, I don't understand this at all: http://news.yahoo.com/video/local-15749667/19585803 (oh, did I do that right?). Anyway, kids in high school were sent home for wearing American flag apparel on Cinco de Mayo. The school officials thought it may cause a problem when some Hispanic students were upset by it. Now, I wear stuff with Philippines on it, but I also wear attire with American flags on it--its practically on every Old Navy item. But sent home? Maybe the issue should have been addressed at an assembly or something, but wearing the American flag is not offensive if done tastefully.

Why is it becoming an offensive thing to wear the American flag? :sad2: Good gravy people. Stop worry about being offended.
LIFE IS TOUGH - GET A HELMET!!!!!!

I'm going to go shamelessly post smilies and BUMPS on the other game threads. :lmao:

Glad ya'll like the flowers! Yes, they actually came from my garden. I can't lay claim to being much of a gardener. The real truth is that I just make sure to plant things that pretty much take care of themselves. Iris are mother nature at her best!

D&D you will be in that garden in no time!

Kitty, I keep wondering when real Americans are going to stand up for being discriminated against.

I'm the child of immigrants, and I even have dual citizenship. But for me, there's a difference between national pride and cultural pride. But they are not exclusive. I refer to myself as Filipino-American.

I do a lot of surveys and I'm always puzzled by the question: what is your ethnicity and the options are Hispanic, not Hispanic, prefer not to answer.
