Marie, is your SDD calling with updates or is she calling just to remind you that she is in DL? :rotfl: That's what I would be doing. :rolleyes1

Might be a little of both! :lmao: Nah, she is with her DH, DS and mom. I'm sure she is having fun but none of them have the same Disney enthusiasm that she and I share. Now you.... I know you would be rubbing it in!

Oh, and thanks for straightening me out on the abbreviation. I can never decide what I am supposed to call her! SDD Ugh! She sounds like a disease!

Who knew that there were belly dancing smileys!!!??? Guess there is one for everything imaginable. Ya'll better stay away from those cocktails! You just might end up providing the entertainment! Of course, then someone could post to one of those threads about the belly dancing TKers!

You're right, it does sound like some kind of disease. I'm just too lazy to type out step. :rotfl:

I live to provide entertainment. :rotfl:

Well you know Jenn...I am an old maid, retired librarian. I have no kids, no sibblings. I feel included here no matter what is being talked about. I enjoy my friends talking about their lives and am glad they want to include me in their family.

Good morning ladies!

Sunny but windy day today.

Kids are at school and I'm getting my chores done. Well, I'm getting some of my chores done. Got the laundry started and put away some clothes that I folded last night.

DS12 has a karate tournament tomorrow. He's signed up for Kata and Sparring. DH is taking him and then after they are going Mtn Bike riding on some trails that are near where the tournament takes place. DS9 and I are staying home but I'm not sure what we'll be doing.

Wow, were you ladies busy last night! I havent' gotten a chance to go back and read everything yet but what I did read was pretty wild.

I hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Good morning ladies! A bit cooler here today, but not nearly as windy as the last few days have been.

M&N! You're a rock star. Up at all hours chatting with us, breakfast at 6:30 and now here! Please wish Mom a wonderful Mothers day from all of us.

jenn...I'm childless also, although I tease my Mom that she has grand-kitties. Its been such a privilege hearing/learning/enjoying everyone's family. I'd like to think of having my own little one someday and all the advice I can glean from here!

Pike! How you doing? Don't work too hard today. Enjoy the downtime before the weekend.

I want to go see the Babies movie! The commercial alone makes me squeal. How cute are they?

I have to con the grocery store to give me more free cat food today. I have 9 more coupons!

I'm really enjoying the Red Pyramid. I really need to pick up a book on Egyptology. I'm already unfamiliar with some of the characters...maybe I'll stop by the library. I know the librarians think I'm some sort of weirdo for heading to the children's stacks, but those children's books really helped me prepare for Millionaire!

WOO HOO! Found you guys!!!

Its been wAAAAAAAaaaaayyy. Too long.

I've had to cut out a lot of my online activity, work, kids, life is just keeping me swamped. But, I wanted to pop in and say hi.

I miss you all!

:lovestruc:grouphug:

Holy Mackerel. Look at all your post counts! I've got some work to do if I want to hang around here. :rolleyes1

Morning!

lighttech, awesome to see you. How are those 2 little ones of yours doing?

M&N, I don't know how you do it? My butt would be dragging the whole day getting up for breakfast at 6:30.

Pikester, sounds like a busy day for DH and DS. I have no idea what we are doing tomorrow. DH has to work even if it rains. Wait, I know what I'm going to be doing...playing referee.

MK, I finally finished Kingdom Keepers III. It was awesome. Have you heard anything about the 4th one yet?

lighttech! Welcome back, girl!

There are plans for two more books in the Kingdom Keepers series. Don't know anything else. But they are making a movie for release next year!

2 more books and a movie.:banana: It's going to be so hard to wait.

DD8 is reading the first one now. She seems to really like it since she is making up her own story about being a DHI except she's in Universal.

Cranky, I think the third tooth I found poppping through yesterday is hurting the poor guy.
 for Walter. I hope he is feeling better today.

Hey...I'm one who thought it was ok to tazer that kid on the baseball field!
I second this!:thumbsup2

Just you wait, ladies, until you all get liquored up. (evil laugh here!)
I can't wait! I'll tell you anything you want to know and even stuff that you don't.

Hi everyone! Just a quick hello. I have been just putzing around the boards...wishing lol.

Hi pepper!:goodvibes

Oh yeah!!!!
Can we make some of these at Hershey too?

Sounds good to me! :upsidedow

So I quoted a few here and was going to mention a few other things but now I can't remember. Old age ya know.

Hi lighttech!

JO: I hate having to referee! And it's always over really stupid, petty things that they usually wouldn't fight about.

Magikitty: I'm going for a walk in about 20 minutes and after that who knows what I'll be doing. Probably sitting on my butt and eating lunch.

Morning!

lighttech, awesome to see you. How are those 2 little ones of yours doing?

They're great! So big you wouldn't believe it. DS just had his 5th birthday, and BL is 19mos.

Thanks! I'll try to bop in here and there, but like i said, life is just crazy right now (not bad, just crazy).

 Hi lighttech!

[.

:wave2:

Glad to see you are all keeping the fun going!

Morning,

Kids are in school and DS8 has his first research project presentation today on Poland. I get to go see him. It is so cute. The teacher taught them how to do research, write note cards, site sources, organize their material and all at a second grade level. :thumbsup2 I told her she has to share her templates with me. :teacher: I am so proud of him. A friend of mine was born and raised in Poland so she let him borrow some neat artifax and gave him some Polish candy to share w/ the class. It really is good - had to sample it first. :rolleyes1

Hey Lighttech! Your kids are getting so big. I think baby lighttech needs a new title - Toddler Lighttech.

That sounds cool! Let us know how he does.

The kids at DS8 school do something similar for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade with each year requiring more research skills. The only thing is that they do this as part of library. The Librarian teaches them the skills they will need for researching projects and papers.

Now I remember one of the things I was going to quote on earlier.

M&N: DS8 school has one Librarian for grades K-4. Each class gets library one day a week for 45 minutes. All the books have bar codes (like the grocery store) and she has a little wand set up that the kids scan their books with as they walk in the door for class (computer is set to check in). They then put the books on the correct shelf of a cart based on what the label says that is on the spine of the book (ABC(Authors last name), 124.5, etc). The kids get 10-15 minutes of their 45 to find a book to check out. When they find a book they like they take it to the scanner and scan it out (By this time she has the computer set to check out). There are a couple of volunteers that help to shelve the books. I've even done it a couple of times.

Just a quick Hi cause I'm working today.

:sad1: Just always forget about the other Sag TKer - ME. :sad1: You know I''m only 1 week later.

 Wait...you didn't check w/ me first!!!

Yeah...she's got a mean streak in her.

No one has ever been mad at me for keeping a secret. ;)

You know you're unforgetable..:rotfl:

:chat:
I hear Ev is thinking of hitching a ride w/ me in Detroit.

I wish...unfortunately my kids are still in school that week...maybe next year if you do it in July.

We'll need to bring a shaker....

BLENDER!!

Holy Mackerel. Look at all your post counts! I've got some work to do if I want to hang around here. :rolleyes1

Hey Lighttech...how's things...just do what M&N and D&D do and rack up those posts. ;)

Better get back to work.
Chow

Who said you had to bring the kids? :rotfl:

Yeah - Moms only!

Can't believe the kids are still in school at the end of June. I thought getting out on the 11th was late.

Pikester - I love that idea with the library. :thumbsup2 I am so glad that they are teaching research skills at the early grades. The school I work at doesn't do a reasearch paper until 6th grade and then they expect the kids to do it all correctly after 1 lesson. :sad2: I keep telling them you have to intro these skills earlier so by the time they get to 6th grade they write more professional papers.

Another bright and sunny day here. :)

Lighttech Hi, can't believe BL is 19 mos! Time flies when you get old. :sad2:

I think I can keep a secret. It's been years since anyone told me a secret so I can't remember.
