Good morning ladies! Thought I'd post a few pics between loads of laundry....
So everyone arrived in Rochester at different times, but by 10pm, we were all at my sister's place, making food and drinks. We had stopped by the gigantic liquor store earlier, so we had lots of drinks flowing! We didn't sleep until after three. So getting up in the morning for Niagara was tough!
It wasn't the best of weather, completely overcast, but Thurs was the best day to go and avoid the tourists....it was an hour drive, which was rough for the boys, nursing hangovers. We went straight to the casino buffet, coz we were ravenous! It was a really good lunch, and when we signed up for the players card (to get $2 off lunch) they gave us $10 in free play. I didn't win, but Edward won $150 right off the bat!
We were bad and left the car at the casino and walked down to the falls...Edward used his winnings to buy our tickets to ride the Maid of the Mist.
Friday am Edward had to fly back to Baltimore for work, but he came back that night. On our own, Quincy and I went to the Strong Museum of Play which was so much fun! They have great exhibits on superheroes, the Berenstein bears, Sesame Street, a butterfly garden and the Toy Hall of Fame. We were the only ones there without kids, but that didn't stop us from being silly.
After Edward arrived back in Rochester later that night, we decided to go out to the club. We started giggling at the door coz the entrance fee was $4! And the drinks were cheap too....there was a drag show which was so much fun. My favorite performer was named Amborsia Salad--she was nearly 7 feet tall! And she performed to katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" which turned into the theme song of the vacation. It was the cleanest club I have ever been too---wasn't scared to sit anywhere. It was a really fun night, and we were there until the light came on. We came back and had sangria and cooked eggs.
Later that morning, when everyone was moving--we spent a lot of time lying on the living room floor that morning, we all piled in the car and drove to the New York Culinary and Wine Institute. We had a wonderful lunch, sitting outside on the patio, facing the Finger Lakes. All the food and wines were from New York. Again, the drinks were so cheap! Half glasses of wine--$3! Entire bottles of local ale--$6! I was the designated driver, but I enjoyed the food and the company. Afterward, they went down to the tasting room. Flights of four glasses of local wines $5! We were there wayyyyy too long, but it was wonderful.
Heading back to Rochester, we decided to go to Anchor bar...its where buffalo wings were supposedly created. We got a bucket of 50 wings, a mountain of nachos, pizza and way too many drinks. I'm surprised my ulcer didn't act up!
So that was our trip--basically enjoying hanging out with each other and being silly. good times!
