I didn't really need a new carry on but today I found a deal at TJMaxx that was too good to pass up. I have a 22" Heys Exotic plaid spinner that I love. It is light weight, holds a ton, super easy to maneuver, and has lasted through multiple trips. I picked it up years ago for like $69.00 at Marshalls, along with the matching check bag for 79.00. This was back when the Heys Exotics were like $200.00 each at the nicer stores. When the Heys Britto collection came out I wanted one, but no way was I paying around $300.00 for a carry on. Well today I was in TJMaxx and saw they had three Heys Britto Garden Collection carry ons and one check bag that matched one of those carry ons. Just out of curiosity I checked the prices and found they had been marked way down. The carry on was just $39.00 and the check bag was just $85.00. I checked for the signature and also checked all zippers and wheels. Except for a few almost impossible to see minor scratches they were perfect. I checked when I came home and on ebay the same carry on ranged between $195.00-$250.00 and online the exact same bag was around $300.00 on some sites. This is the exact bag I got for just $39.00:

Again I didn't really need another carry on, but no way was I passing up a spinner bag I knew was worth a whole lot more than the $39.00 they were asking. I measured it when I got home and it's the exact same size as my beloved Heys Exotic and moves/spins just as easily. You can push or pull it with just two fingers.

They also had some American Tourister, Samsonite, Nautica, Swiss Gear, Kenneth Cole, Bill Bass, Nicole Miller, Diane von Furstenberg, Kathy Van Zeeland, IT, Pierre Cardin, Nine West, and probably a few other brands I forgot. All were alot cheaper than regular stores. Most had the medium and large check bags to match, but some didn't. Anyway, check out TJMaxx (and Marshalls) if you need luggage. Just be sure to carry a tape measure as some of the largest bags appear too big to use as checked bags. The medium size bags would be fine though.

I have this bag. Got it last year at BJ's. It was $30 and then I went back to the store two weeks later and it was marked down to $25 and I had my receipt so the gave me the price adjustment.

The bag is very durable!! And so easy to maneuver around and easy to spot! You will love it.

Yes TJ and Marshalls are notorious for selling over sized bags. I remember on the Dis board someone was so happy to by the HEX Mickey luggage.. only to find out it was oversized and she had to pay a surcharge by her airline one because it was oversized and two because it was over weight. Her cheap buy ended up costing her a pretty penny and she had not even started her trip.

Don't get anything over 30".

I already love it. The problem is I'm a bag nut and already have multiple carryons to choose from. I definitely did not need another one. I just wanted it, because it was such a good deal and I love the hard sided Heys spinners.

As far as over sized bags being sold in some of the discounted stores, I agree. I wasn't planning on buying any luggage yesterday, but if I had been I would have made sure to carry a tape measure with me. I was guilty years ago of purchasing an over sized bag at Burlington Coat Factory. I thought I had finally found the perfect checked bag, until I got home and measured it. It went back to the store that very same day. When I took it back, the customer service desk started to put it behind the desk, but I told them since I was going back there anyway that I'd take it back there for them. When I told the lady back in the luggage dept why I was returning it, she called out to another sales associate, "Poor Homer's back! He didn't find a home afterall".:rotfl2: She then told me that particular bag had been sold, then returned numerous times once people realized he was too big. I should have realized something was wrong with the bag, when I had to get an associate to get a ladder to get him off the very top shelf, where they had apparently tried to hide him. I thought it was hilarious that not only had they humanized a suitcase, but that he'd been returned so many times they had actually named him.:rotfl::rotfl:

Now there is no way I would purchase a bag unless I had a tape measure to measure it with or knew absolutely for sure that it was small enough. Since I already had a Heys hard sided Exotic spinner, I knew the Heys hard sided Britto will also fit in the overheads. I've had my Heys Exotic extended and it still easily fit wheels first in the overheads. The only thing I don't like about the new Heys Britto is it doesn't have the extender feature. I didn't notice it until I got home and compared the two bags. Oh well, I very seldom ever had to extend the bag anyway, so no big deal. We're leaving for Orlando a week from tomorrow at 6:00am. I just need to hurry up and decide which bags we're taking and get busy packing. lol

Thanks for reminding me about the luggage at TJ Maxx. I would like to find an inexpensive, easily maneuverable spinner for my trip in January. My dominant hand/wrist is totally mangled right now and I am dreading trying to drag a bag through the airport.
