Tiw ?

It has been very valuable for us. We eat sit down (with many signatures) for every dinner and I have stretched 3- 1 week trips out of it. So it depends. Try to do a budget and do the math for the types of places you are eating. For 2 trips it is probably worth it.

Yes, it should still be good. My wife and I are going back in April as well, and we'll be getting TIW in September, fully anticipating using it on both trips.

If it were my choice, I'd skip the DDP and just go with TIW. The flexibility to order anything you want, and from more restaurants, is great. DDP I've found to be nice for the convenience, but you're either overpaying or overeating. TIW you will get 20% off whatever you order, so even if you're just not that hungry, you're don't feel like you need to eat or order just to squeeze value out of the plan.

I know…I keep going back and forth about the DDP…next year will be the first time that I will be paying for 4 "adults" on the plan, so it's a big chunk of money! Like I said, my mom really likes the DDP…I think she likes the fact that it's paid in advance and she doesn't have to think about it.

So you know, when you book CRT you'll pay in full. Then when you get there you show them the TIW card, and you'll get a refund that's almost (but not quite) 20% off. It's not quite 20% because the photo is included in the total, and you don't get the discount off of the photo.

Good to know, thanks!

It seems like a no-brainer then, at least for this time. I'm happy that we'll be getting 2 trips from it.

Thanks again everyone!

Does anyone know if the 18% tip is on the full amount, or the discounted amount?

Gratuity is calculated before discount.
Sales Tax is calculated after discount.

At the few counter services locations that offer the TiW discount, no gratuity is added.

Is the 18% added to the full amount, or the discounted amount?
I don't have any direct experience, but everything if read on this board (up until now) said that they take the 20% discount BEFORE adding the 18% gratuity.

Grat should ALWAYS be based on pre-discount subtotal. (Example: they figure what the tip is on your regular bill. Then take the 20% off of the subtotal and then add on the tip giving you a grand total) nothing like working for 2.50 an hour and getting 20%less on your tip because some cheap people. (I waitresses to get through nursing school and would constantly be under-tipped because of a coupon)
