TIW with a large group

I am traveling with 14 other family members in April and we are AP holders with one TIW card. We will be doing a couple of meals all together and would like to use the TIW for those meals. I know that the TIW discount can only be applied to 10 people so I am wondering what happens if you have a larger group. Will they split the check so that 10 people are on one with the TIW discount and the other 5 are on a non-discounted check?

Additionally, 5 of those we are traveling with are kids, so ideally if we could pick and choose, it would be great to have the kids meals be the ones that go undiscounted. Is that even possible? I don't want to scam the system or anything, but just want to get the best discount we are able to get within the parameters of the program.

We had considered purchasing a 2nd card to see if we could get a discount for the whole party but after reading several posts, it seems like we would have to have separate ADRs for them to apply 2 TIW cards. It is just easier to do one ADR for the group, so I am not going to bother with that.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

Having the kids (lower price) meals on the non-discount check will work.

Also, if you do have two different cards you can have two different checks, even though it is one reservation. Note however this must actually be a separate TiW Card and not the second card a family is allowed to purchase.

Yes, you can put the adults on the TIW check and the kids on another check.

If you had two different TIW accounts it would work but not a spouse card. It might work if you had the spouse buy a full membership.

Thank you both for your help! I am happy to hear they'd let us put the kids on a separate check!

Right now, my mom is the TIW cardholder. So basically, if I were to buy a full price $75 with my AP discount) card, we could use it with the other card and get 20% of all 15 of our meals for the times we eat together? Hmm, that might be worth it.

We dine with large groups quite a bit. We have used two TIW cards at one time however it was two different card names. All we did was tell the wait staff how to split the checks (these 8 under one TIW, those 2 under the other TIW, and sometimes those 3 under CM discount totalling 3 checks).

Also, I was the one holding one of the cards but very often someone else paid. That turned out to be my only problem. Friends very often used their credit card, then I and others ended up owing them. I had to hit the ATM a bit more than I liked.

Yes. Each individual (aka "primary") TiW cardholder is entitled to get the discount for a party of up to 10 people. So two primary cardholders dining together with a large party can get up to 20 discounts. (And I think it bears repeating what others have said before me that spouse cards don't apply.)
