We will be in Disney next week and again in Febraury. Our AP's will expire before the Febrauary trip and we will probably only buy regular tickets for that trip (we won't be back again that year so AP renewal not worth it). If we buy the Tables in Wonderland card can we use it in February even though we will no longer have an AP?

You should be fine - I think you only need to be a passholder or FL resident to purchase the card, not to use it.

As long as you have an active AP when you buy it, you ought to be able to use it for the full membership period.

I have seen here on a couple of occasions that people say they are asked for their AP when they use it. I never have been. I have been asked for ID a couple of times to prove I am the cardholder.

OK, thanks for the help. We were thinking this may be the way to go. We used to do the DDP, but not sure if it is worth it anymore.
