TIW or just stick with the AP discounts?

Grin - we renewed (bought a new) TIW yesterday. AFTER the "great deal" was announced.
Being both APs and DVCs - we read the fine print.... "restriction restriction restriction".... nope, not for us :).

Now - by TIMING a TIW purchase for OCT 3, 2016? We know, via TIW feedback, that the card is good for our Nov 2016, April 2017, and Nov 2017 trips :).

Timed right.... TIW will cost one $50 a trip - IF you attend on a regular basis that you can PLAN for. Our HABITS also lead us to SIGS every evening, twice per year, 9 nights per trip. For US? TIW is Highway Robbery..... and WE get to be the robbers :).

All personal opinion - just what WE do.... we are not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Sorry to bring back this thread but I didn't want to start a whole new one with a similar question. The AP discounts are for you and 3 guests. So for example my husband and I are both AP holders and going to Cinderellas Royal Table with 8 people total. Can we split the bill and each get the 10%? Does TIW have the same type of restriction where it's only a certain number of guests? (Edit: I just found out its for 10 guests) Thanks!!

I was debating doing TiW this year again, but after the release of the AP discounts, we decided it wasn't worth it. There are several restaurants we enjoy that are on the 20% list and with 10% at the rest it's a better deal for us. As mentioned, you have to spend $750 before you start saving with TiW, but with the AP discount you start saving right away. Unless you are spending a TON of money on dining I don't think it would be worth it.

We have had tIW for three years. Last year we got it in nov so it is good thru dec 2016. We used it almost every day for two weeks in march and we will be back for the first week in dec. we almost always go to signature restaurants for dinner and usually get a bottle of wine. We also use it at lounges for a cocktail. More than worth it to us.

Finally ran our numbers and we aren't getting the TiW card either. We are just going with the OP discount.

We just couldn't make it work for us. Even with two trips booked.

It's worth it to me to have the TIW. I like it and with all my weekend trips, I've had no issues spending enough money to make it worth getting.

Most of the restaurants we are going to aren't on that list of the ones with the 20% discount, plus, we get drinks so that helps.
So, if we get the Tiw card on this Saturday, Nov 12, how long into Nov next year in 2017 will it be good for? Will it be good for the 13 months of the AP?

There is no guarantee, but it will probably be good through December 2017.

@robinb Thanks for responding! Guess we'll find out for sure on Saturday. Since they are accepting the AP vouchers for the 13 months for others, I'm expecting this to go well also!
Off topic, I know, but like your pics! GO CUBS GO!!! party:This was an awesome, and the best post season ever, don't you think?! Friends at work and I have still been talking about it everyday among ourselves and the regulars we see in our library/community center!
