TIW during Thanksgiving??

From what I've read most places won't accept the TIW card during Thanksgiving day but what about the days before and after? We are hoping to get one TIW card when we turn in our AP vouchers in 2 weeks but don't know if maybe we should wait until our next trip because if we get turned down every day during our trip then its obviously not worth it just yet. Thoughts???

Thanksgiving is the only Blackout date.
