We bought APs during our June trip, and used them for our November 2010 trip. During our Nov. trip, we bought the TIW discount card which expires in Dec. 2011. We plan on returning to WDW in Nov. 2011. However, I don't think we'll be renewing our APs as it will be cheaper for us to just buy MYW PH for our 7 day trip and we don't plan on returning within a year of that trip.

So, can I use the TIW card, even though I won't have an AP at the time?

All reports are yes. I guess they have the right to ask for your AP as well but I have never been asked for my AP with dining.

I guess the more I think about it, if they didn't want you to use it, they could just pro-rate it and set it to expire when your AP expires...just thinking aloud.

Okay, thanks Vicki.

Even if you buy it at the same time as your AP, it's often good for a month or so beyond that expiration.

I expect the Morality Police to chime in at any moment, but I think you're fine.

I cringed a little before I hit "send" for this very reason but when I bought the TIW, they took my AP. The CM knew when my AP expired and still gave me a TIW card that expires in Dec. 2011. My AP expires in June 2011 and that's the one I used to get the TIW.

I got my AP in June 2010, returned to WDW in Nov, when I bought the TIW card. That's why I got a Dec. 2011 exp. date.

We started buying the TIW when it was made avaiable to AP holders. In all the years we have had it, I have only been asked for my AP twice. Once it was just my DH and I and once with a group of 9 people. I did have a valid AP both times. Don't know what they would have done if I hadn't. The last time was about 5 years ago. I have been asked for my ID once in a while. That actually makes more sense to me.

To buy the TiW you must be a Florida Resident and/or an AP holder.

To use theTiW you must be the person whose name is printed on it.

Once the TiW has been purchased you can have your AP expire the next day and/or move out of Florida, but the TiW Card will be valid until its expiration date.

I just want to thank you for all the work you put into the ticket thread. I looked through it for the first time yesterday and found it VERY helpful in planning our Nov. 2011 trip.
