Tired of the Games

We've ben AP holders for the last several years and have never received a PIN code...ever. :sad1: We go every September and I was sad to see that there are no AP discounts this year. I'd gladly pay for the dining plan and get a discount on a room. We usually stay deluxe with our discount and then pay for dining. :sad2:

OhioDisneyLover,
Sign into the passholder site and try your Sept dates. I just did with Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kindgom Lodge (and it also showed me Saratoga Springs Villas), and it was doing about a 30-35% discount. It only TELLS you about value resorts weekend price, but I thought surely that can't be the only discount they are doing.
There are AP discounts for Sept, even for deluxe. Just give it a try.:wizard:

We bought Aps just to save money on tickets because we are making 3 trips this year. We like the dxdp. I wish disney would allow us to use any discount and not buy tickets to get the dining plan. I used a BB for our October trip and had to buy one day tickets to purchase the dining plan. I just don't get that. Why can't Ap holder use any discount, buy the dinng plan and not purchase tickets. If there going to give ap holders crappy discounts they should at least let us use other discounts.

I agree with you about letting APs add Dining to any room only reservation we make. I booked my upcoming vacation with Free Dining at Pop, and then a very good GP rate at BCV. The AP rates that just came out could not beat what I already had. Pop was not available when I tried just a few hours after the rates came out! and my GP rate at BCV was $207/nt, and my AP discount would be $249/nt! Sheesh!
I live 40 minutes from DL, and spend at least 24 days a year at WDW, so I plan to be a Premier passholder as long as I keep going to WDW on a regular basis. I just hope WDW keeps the merchandise discounts going at all the parks and resorts.
Now my friends and I know to book a room when the rate reaches a point you can live with, and maybe you can do better, maybe not.
I have not felt much "love" from Disney lately. (Oh, I did get the first PIN I've seen in probably 8 years a few months ago. It started the day I returned HOME from my upcoming August trip. Uh, thanks.)

I let my AP expire without renewal 1 1/2 years ago and it was a wise move. The discounts used to lure me back to Florida 2 or 3 times a year, but when the discounts waned, it didn't make financial sense to keep it.

I am new to the Disney "game" - we go to Disneyland once a year, but stay with family and do it as cheap as possible (we are able to drive).

We are going to WDW for the first tiime in October and trying to do it cheaply has been really difficult. We wanted to stay on site, but there are 6 of us which narrows our options. We have joked about what we would do for a 40% PIN or even free dining plan - but alas, we are (at this time) going without.

I can see whay people who have been doing this for years, tire of trying to figure out the finances involved. We are at $1980 Flights and $3600 hotel/tickets for 6 - it is not cheap!! :) but I am hoping it will be worth it!

Our 2 week trip this past May was over 11,000 dollars. We stayed deluxe at universal and wdw, but still that was with some pretty deep discounts. Part of that expense was upgrading to Ap's. Were planning another 2 week trip next year before Ap's expire. I was hoping next years trip would be less because I have aps, but now I am not so sure it will be. I loved our trip and it was worth the money, but I don't love disney enough to stay in a value or moderate resort. I know there are cheaper ways to do disney, then deluxe dining in a deluxe resort, but thats not the kind of vacation I wan't. I think I have a pretty high budget and I still can't make it worth without a substantial discount.
